Honestly, I can't believe that people would blame video games for somebody trying to commit suicide. I mean, I don't think I've see a mainstream (or any, for that matter) game have committing suicide as some kind of exciting feature.

This is certainly disturbing.
I seriously doubt game addiction would lead to suicide. If he was that creepily into a game, it must have been because of something else. He was trying to escape from something but the game just didn't do it anymore. He had to remove himself even more.
That's my thought.

So it's okay to scapegoat drug use, but when it comes to video games, we gotta start flinging poo at the media? Seriously, calm down. Just because one person commits suicide because of a game doesn't mean your hobby makes you any less sane.

I fail to see the link between loving games and swallowing blades. They are just so far apart, I can't even begin to comprehend it.

It sounds to me like there's more going on in his life than just video games. I have never heard of someone muttering incoherently about how to beat a video game just because they like video games. I think there may have been some sort of underlying psychological problem other than "he liked video games a lot".

At least you cant eat saw blades in gta 4 - or is there a hot coffe style unlockable minigame?

GTA IV? Half the fun in that game was finding new exciting ways to launch Niko off buildings. I don't remember it having a saw blade swallowing feature though.
