Adults on x-box live...

Now see here i cant say all of them are bad, but in a way most of them just either kick me out of games saying "OMG a kid boot him he'll ruin everything" Or theyll just keep randomly saying bad stuff you know?

As funny as adults playing Halo 3 are, I think the best strategy would be to build their trust be not talking and showing them that you are a competent player. Once you've done that, they'll probably be more accepting of your un-adulthood.

as an adult on live, i will say that i get irritated with a lot of kids on live because of their mouth. that, and the fact that i don't have near the twitch factor to be any good against them in halo...

Yes kids seem to hand my ass to me on a silver platter covered with what I assume to be blue cheese in Halo 3. Theres not that many rated T games with online multiplayer so you shouldn't even be playing certain games buddy, I know you must play Halo 3, COD4, or Gears online...

I have no problem playing with kids as long as they're co-operative. Sure, some are really annoying, but there are some who are good team players too.

The first indication that I'm playing another adult is that they aren't talking.

....define bad would you? Is it swearing, saying they'll fornicate your mother, saying that YOU fornicate with your mother, blah blah, stuff like that?

Also, are these people actual adults, or pompus teens who have mature voices, and yet nothing to show for it?

Im actually very mature for more my age and im a team player and most of them know that yet they still do this.

Almost all that shit there man, i cant see why though.

And adults and teen's alike.

And im actually 14 turning 15 in march 7th.

Not on Xbox Live but I've had kids seriously piss me off and want to break things on many PC multiplayer FPSs such as CS:S and COD4. I'm sure you're great abysss but unfortunately I'll bet you're in the minority. It's the irritating, immature kids that stand out and stick in people's minds.

Im actually great at games im hardcore :D.

I don't have Xbox live but I do plat steam sever so they're more or less the same. .Personally I love some the adult counter strike servers. I just keep my mouth shut and laugh at the random crap they say. And to be fair, the stereotype that players that aren't adults are highly annoying is fair for about 60% of the kids who do play Xbox live. You can blame middle schoolers for that, along with global warming. So their philosophy is better safe than sorry.

I personally play with a large group of friends on live, anywhere from 3-8 at a time. Anyone who thinks they're hot sh-t and is up in one of our faces will get their words rammed down their throat. So any little kids or smart-ss 30 year-olds usually leave us alone.

And little snots in groups are the worst. Put more than two 13year-olds in a gamechat and all hell breaks loose. I know, I used to be one of them. Good times on Halo 2.

In my experiences playing Call of Duty 4 online, the majority of "kids" playing were pretty bad at the game. That combined with their annoying voice, tendency to make loud noises, and overall cockiness (even when it's clear they're awful) makes me mute them.

My advice to younger players: don't complain about the way other people play, try not to talk a lot, and don't be overly friendly.

Edit: This is on Xbox 360 btw.

I'm only 15, and I can't even stand the chatter on TF2 on the PC. I've never been on Xbox live, but from what I hear, the little @#$%heads who play on it are dishonoring my age group.

yeah your not the only 14 year old here so ill give you some advice.

1st off the most basic problem about younger players they have high pitched/annoying voices (that doesn't fit me but i dunno if that fits you but im just putting it out there)

2nd don't talk in the lobby (im using halo 3 as my example so just apply this logic to whatever game your playing)just wait till your in game and are doing decently

3rd in any team based objective game if someone (of a higher rank/ability level starts describing a strategy for victory and tells you to do something to aid this grand scheme just humor him, normally anyone that just runs straight at the objective with no disregard for the plan will probably be both killed and ridiculed by your teammates.

4th don't swear...at all not a word of it

5th umm im kinda running out of things to say by now... don't go for the rocket launcher or equivalent one shot kill giant explosion machine thing of doom you will instantly be branded a noob

thats all i can give you hope it helps out

Heh, this thread is amusing. Truthfully, it all boils down to the people. Both adults and kids tend to be asses when they want to. Hopefully with the "novelty" wearing off, maybe some of those will start to mature, even if the age variety stays the same. I can only hope for fewer leet speakers... that's the least of my desires.

wierd, i must be an adult in a 14 year olds body, because i hate it when kids join o_O

Define adult..
Seriously, I've played with people older than me who were worse than some of the youngins.
I don't really mind playing with the younger types either, however the first time they swear or make a racial slur, I kick them.
If they swear, even once, and they're obviously youngins, it means they lack the respect necessary to play in an online community. And if they say something racist, well, self explanatory.
However, retarded adults and annoying children come at you all the time. I just don't play online very often. So, when I do, I remove the annoying factors.

Yeah, when I go onto Xbox Live and play CoD:WoW, and some 'Halo Kiddies', as I brand them, join in...things can go south real quick. I gotta agree with Zero's list up there. You give me a 13 y/o that knows that he needs to shoot the red guys, NOT the blue guys, and can appreciate a strategy...I'll take that over any moronic 34 y/o any day of the week.

Couple nights ago on a Hardcore TDM match in CoD:WoW, had one kid, probably around 14-15, doing very well. Kid got an Arty-strike, and actually requested the recon plane call-in to pin-point some targets. Kid was god's gift to SMG's, and I'de easily play with the kid again, any time.

Chronic Asshole Disease has no age barrier, in other words I have met perfectly reasonable younger players, and complete asshat older players, it can go either way, also when people start singing the mute feature is a very useful invention.

i'm going to have to say that most kids don't know what the hell to do or how to play, most will head to the target with no regard of what's going on or just act like they know what's going on and lose the game for the team, i'm all for being a maverick but at least be good at being a maverick

the other group will start yammering and saying crap when no one is talking and basically annoying the hell out of ppl. if ppl aren't talking don't start talking and being a jerk cause you can speak and no one can reach thru the tv and punch you in the face

Yo on Cod WaW all the little kids just use the MP40 Doublemag w/ Juggernaut (juggern00bs) or tanks, or both! Same thing on CoD4 with the M16 and MP5 W/ red-dot and stopping or jugger. And they buy turbo controllers w/ their allowance to be even bigger f0(k3rs.

Btw: I respect anyone who is a legit player. If your doing it for the points thats okay. But juggerf0(k3rs and turbon00bs are not allowed.

X-Box live, a talking version of E-Baulms world... *Shudder*

I don't know the age of who I play. I mute everyone, including my own team.

It isn't as if I could implement their strategies, or that they would heed my constructive suggestions.

I see where your coming from. But when you play with people you know from real life its way more fun.

Adults on live suck, Kids on live suck, Teenagers on live suck.
Everybody sucks. Get used to it, it is how online gaming is.

I never have a problem with fellow adults. It's the kids that suck, talking all the smack in the world and calling you a noob when you blast their nuts off. I also don't understand calling people gay like it's some kind of huge insult...

I'm 16, and that still happens to me a lot, I know what you're saying. If you want to do alright, here's some tips:
1)Turn you mic off at the beginning of each match. That way, you can still talk and have random outbursts (a problem for me) without people getting annoyed
2)If you must talk (i.e, they address you directly or you must relay important information) keep your answers concise and show you aren't just one of the famous "XBL kids"
3)Use discretion when using the above. If you hear them talking a lot, and especially if they sound like they're talking to kids, then it might be okay to talk more naturally

Just remember, you get less of this shit once your voice deepens (sorry if yours has, I didn't get the immpression it did from your post, so I figured I'd address this to you in the event your voice hasn't yet deepened), but even those of us who's voices have deepened still get some of this shit, just a bit less. Mainly because, while our voices sound older, our childish reflexes still exist.

You may as well have them in the same room, Nintendo-style.
