He's from my hometown, he graduated from my high school, he's the grandson of the guy that BUILT my hometown, and I worked with his nephew for a long time. That and he is a damn fine looking fellow. I mean dead sexy. |

I wouldn't say he's the best actor in the world, but he's always entertaining. Plus he's in the new Darren Shan movie! I read those books when they first came out - very childish but entertaining nonetheless - and he's going to be in the movie! But really, I have an awful lot of respect for Ian Holm, John Hurt (2nd best voice in the world after James Earl Jones) and Geoffrey Rush |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2174 Joined: 14 Nov 2007 | Favourite actor: Gregory Peck. He's just so fucking noble in everything he plays. Favourite Actress: Eva Green. Aw come on, I'm not just saying that because she's fit. She was really good in Casino Royale. And that french film with all the sex... Dreamers. Yeah, she was good in that. Bits I was paying attention too anyway. When I wasn't... distracted. |

I gotta say, you must be thinkin' the same way I do. I love Clint Eastwood. Sucks to think he's getting older. But really incredible movies. |

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Lets not forget some of his finer films have him dealing with his age head on like Unforgiven, In the Line of Fire and Gran Torino. |
Muckraker Posts: 265 Joined: 30 Dec 2008 |
Yeah I know what you mean. I just mean he's not really in his prime anymore. He's stilla great actor and his age hasn't affected that really, it's just wierd to see how he once was compared to how he is now. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2440 Joined: 11 Oct 2008 | Nathan Fillion- Even though he hasn't been in a LOT of things, I just love the way he acts in Firefly and Serenity. His hilarious reactions, especially. I can't wait until his new show comes out. I'm gonna watch it, even though it just looks a little like "Murder HE Wrote". Brad Pitt- I always love the characters he plays as. He's funny, has good timing, and knows how to get into the role (most of the time). Not only that, but his character Rusty Ryans from Ocean's 11/12/13 is partially my inspiration for a character in a movie that me and some friends will be making soon. Robert De Niro- Need I explain? EDIT-
He's another one of my favorites, though I've heard that Hancock sucked... |

Fuckin awesome choices! Nighy can seemingly do everything. I'd also vote in the entire Python team. I also used to watch anything that had Jack Nicholson in it, but he's kinda gone down the Pacino/De Niro route and acts in some utter crap these days. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2231 Joined: 5 Jan 2009 | For actors i have Hugh Laurie, Heath Ledger (RIP), and Will Smith and how could i forget Edward Norton (doh!). Favorite actresses are Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Anisten |

Eh with Jolie I've never seen anything she's in and thought "wow, what a great actress". Though I heard she was amazing in Changling. That true, or was my friend exagerating like he usually does? |

Aye, I think if anything overexposure has spoilt their careers. Really the three of them alone could be quoted endlessly for hours. I do have to admit I consider Nighy to be the British DeNiro cause both have this amazing ability to show so emotion through tiny changes in their faces. For a great british ensemble cast though you can't beat Hot Fuzz. My God, when I first watched it I was like "oh look its, oh over theres etc" really great cast. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3587 Joined: 6 Aug 2008 | Nathan Fillion, Edward Norton, Bruce Campbell, Kurt Russell, to name a few. There's a lot of serious kick ass actors but these are the ones that spring straight to mind. |

Yeah. HF somehoe managed to make every character great, something pretty rare these days. The British are generally very good at ensemble casts. |

Sorry never seen Changling, but i did like Wanted, although it wasnt a very demanding role on her part. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2440 Joined: 11 Oct 2008 |
Oh yeah, Wanted was great. I loved a lot of movies she was in (that and Mr. and Mrs. Smith included) but I just don't think of her as a great actress. Good, in plenty of good movies, and fits her roles well... but not great. |

shes best when she has few lines and provides something to look at during intense action scenes and what not. She doesnt have the acting range of someone like Dakota Fanning though : P |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1013 Joined: 4 Dec 2007 | For actors, I say Morgan Freeman or... I dunno, I tend to really like Samuel L. Jackson. For actresses, um... uh... hrm... I don't really know, so I'll have to go with the movie in my "Best Movies in the Universe" that has a female lead; Andie McDowell. (The movie is Harrison's Flowers, and you should watch it, because it is awesome.) |
