I am a huge fan of the Friday the 13th movies and I recently got season 1 of the television series. I knew before hand how little the TV show had to do with the movies, but I didn't know how bad the show was, and I mean it is horrible. How many of you have seen it and what does it have to do with the movies other than the name and the fact that they had some of the same actors and creators.

I didn't even realize that they had made a tv series out of that. The movies have been pretty ridiculous for a while now (Jason X anyone?). I probably could have told you that the tv series would be terrible before even seeing anything about it.

Yes, and it is so bad that I could barely watch the first 2 episodes.

One problem I had was that it had nothing to do with Jason or his mom. Give credit where it is due though, Jason X was for the fans of the series and had lots of inside jokes in it.

Doesn't the real problem exist with Friday The Thirteenth part 2 though?

Quick Hint : Think Psycho.

There was a TV series? Just tell me know...Is it worse than Freddies Nightmares? Y'know the Nightmare on Elm Street TV series? Is it worse than that?!

Just checked it out on youtube, and I now remember seeing it on the sci-fi channel (I think).

I thought it was an "OK" show, but there was no reason for it to have the same name (other than to try and get more viewers).

Maybe I am just dense, but the only way I see that as relevant is how much Jason was obsessed with his mom. I am not trying to be rude, I just want to know why the series deviated so much from the movies. The show has to do with a antique shop the sells cursed items and we all know that the movies were about killing teens that were having premarital sex and doing drugs.

Friday The Thirteenth Part 1 : Jason wasn't the killer. He was dead all along.

But the TV series was more to do with the date and its connotations of bad luck than our Hockey Masked Slasher.

He wasn't technically dead until the end of part 4, but I get what you are going at with the original vision for the series being that he was dead and his mom came back for revenge on Friday the 13th.
