Wait it out, (almost) no matter what it is. If it keeps going on for days n' shit, see a doctor.
Well, almost all of the time I just wait it out. If I'm really sick or have a bad headache I might take some Tylenol or something.
I concur with Haddi; wait it out. I have to be seriously sick or in pain to take medication and if I'm not I just "man up" and grin and bear it. Sickness is natural and pain is your body's way of saying something is wrong to dose yourself up seems sort of...arrogant in my opinion.
I don't get sick. | |
I wait it out most of the time. Try everything else at least. Drink lots of water, take lots of vitamin C ect ect. Aspirin is the last resort.
i prefer to grin and bear it, either that or beer, unless the headache is caused by beer...
I usually pop a panadol or two with a headache, sometimes I'll just game and hope I forget about it though.
If I've got a headache or a fever, I just take a couple of painkillers, Paracetamol usually.
I usually take a pill so it doesn't bug me. If that doesn't work, I just wait it out.
Drugs are your friends.
I wait stuff out, mainly cause overdosing on medication has led to the rapid increase in the number of super diseases.
I'm a waiting it out sort of person. I only take medication if it's absolutely necessary. Plus I'm allergic to codeine so I have to be very careful about what medications I take anyway since most strong painkillers are codeine-based.
I try and wait it out if its juts a headache but if its a full blown migraine yea then I start popping something and curl up in a dark soundless room.
I have a friend who at the slightest sign of a headache downs some paracetamol and that really annoys me. Often the more you take something, the less affect it has on you as your body builds an immunity. If it is serious though, yes take something for it.
erm, what? Paranoid much? Painkillers are not going to do anything to the actual cause of the problem - and if there is something you can fight with antibiotics, most people would take them I think....
I do a Pacman. | |
I have a headache every single day. I get used to it. But if it spikes above the normal pain amount, I usually grab some Excedrin.
My doctor hates prescribing meds because they don't allow you to build up your immune system. I went to him a week ago with a sore throat. I now feel like I'm in hell, and am starting to suspect that I have mono. Because of this, I say take meds right away! Learn from my mistake!
I don't usually take painkillers unless my daily functions are impeded by the pain, such as after twisting my ankle or throwing out my back (I had poor form when weight lifting). Then I take 3 ibuprofen or aspirin (I'm a big guy) and hope it goes away. It usually helps a little, but I find most nonprescription medication doesn't work very well on me.
I would wait it out unless it was serious.
I'm the exact opposite of the whole vegan thing.
Yeah, this, only all day I have been having my "Medication Cocktail" with real cocktails. Am I still sick? Probably, but hell, I won't know if I'm ill or hungover tomorrow.
I wait it out. Pain medication makes me feel like shit as it wears off and most of them make me feel groggy the day after.
It depends on the headache, as some headaches I need to take medication as soon as I can before it develops into a migraine, this fortunatly doesnt happen so often, and I can tell when its a pre migrane headache and just a normal annoying one.
I often just choose to suck it up. I've found even over-the-counter medications have side-effects that I'd rather not deal with.
I have a bad cold right now so what i do is pop a couple pills and down them with half a gallon of OJ before taking a 13 hour coma...that usaly works.
I usually wait out something like that and distract myself, but if it gets really unbearable or I'm going out somewhere I take a pill or whatever I can do.
Wait it out like a real man.
I wait it out man my body is pure no alcohol or drugs in my body.
if i get sick or if i end up feeling pain in any part of my body i simply cause an even greater pain in another part of my body. this distracts me temporarily from my current ailment and allows me to move on. that was four years ago. it is a horrible cycle, i want to stop but i just can't. now my body is beaten and scarred, yesterday i broke two of my fingers just to get past a headache i developed at work. i want to stop i really do but every time i try it all comes seeping back, all at once and i can't bear it so i hurt myself again. sorry i got a bit carried away. what was this thread on again?
When I was taking Isotretin, I usually walked around with 2-3 ibuprofen at all times because of the headaches I would get..
i become sick to my stomach when i take pills
Well then it's a good thing I can admit I'm arrogant. I would think myself better in that respect without false notions that pain actually teaches you anything. (physical pain that is, don't underestimate uppercuts to the mind)
Wait it out... I'm getting off my Paxil which is a bitch.

Since I have a headache at the moment, it got me thinking. What does everyone do when they are sick/have aches and pains? I personally wait for a bit, and if it doesn't go away then I take some meds. This method has treated me well since most of the time, I won't have to even take medicine to get through the pain. Right now though, I had to take some Excedrin since my headache was getting increasingly worse and now its dying down(yay!)
So everybody, what do you do?
