WARNING SPOILERS!

I have heard a lot of differing accounts as to weather there is or is not going to be a third batman flick and i want to know what the rest of you think about the whole thing on four accounts
1 is there going to be a third movie
2 is Harvey Dent aka two-face dead
3 if hes not are they going to make him the lead
4 if so who will costar if anyone with him as a villain if he is dead who should go up against the caped crusader

I heard on the rumour mill that is IMDB, that there WILL be another Batman film.

BUT

Chris Nolan may not direct another.
Christian Bale may not star in another.
The Riddler may be the next villain.

All of this is unconfirmed, just what I remember reading.

I would like the penguin to star in the next one, buts thats just an opinion not a fact :)

can we be all done with nolan/bale batman for a very long time, please? i could very happily live the rest of my natural life without ever hearing about the dark knight again. the horse is extremely dead.

Yeah, I'm sure I saw Nolan expressing his desire to make another Batman film, and he said that he wouldn't do the Penguin because it's 'unrealistic' which strikes me as both odd and irritating, but what can you do?

Chances are he wouldn't dare recast the Joker. There are a mess of characters he could use instead of rehashing others, so I imagine he would use them, regardless of popularity.

Riddler or Poison Ivy Perhaps? Or Ivy and Harly Quinn, that would be pretty interesting, considering Quinn is the definition of fucked up, and Joker's lover, so it could work.

I've heard that the Riddler is up next, and he may be played by Eddie Murphy or Johnny Depp. Although I don't know if this is true.

i think it's Eddy Murphy to play the riddler. dont think hes gonna be that good though. last half decent movie i remember him doing was beverly hills cop. however if the third batman movie proves me wrong i will be delighted

If you hadn't seen the Dark Knight, or read the comic books, it quite clearly states: 'Harvey Dent AKA Two faced is dead.' That's pretty much a spoiler, as you'd now know Harvey Dent would turn into Two Faced, or that something pretty drastic happens to him at the end of the film.

I'd like to see the Riddler, but cast right. In my opinion, Eddie Murphy would be an epic fail as the Riddler. I like the idea of Harley Quinn though, would fit in nicely after the Dark Knight. Again though, it'd need to be cast right.
If they can't find the actors to fit these roles, I'd honestly rather they left the Batman series where it finished, before they ruined it with a crappy film. It's good as it is, no need to ruin it now.

The "I know who batman is" scene at the end of Batman forever is epic.

So far Batman has not faced someone specifically trying to destroy him. Bane can be that threat. He'll have to lose the mask though.

I wager that they'll pick another villain and then have batman beat him up and then the movie ends.

Going from the success of the Dark Night the villian will be the closest one to the Joker, whoever that is.

It's Two-face

and I've seen the movie about 20 times, and I'd say his ultimate death isn't a sure thing.. it doesn't look good, but villains in comic books have lived through much worse then a 30 foot fall.

No one knows dick about Batman 3 at this point. Anything you hear right now is pure conjecture....

I must be the ONLY person who thinks Eddie Murphy would make a better Riddler than Johnny Depp. Depp and Burton can get the Hell away regarding Batman - Burton had his chance and yeah he did good but that's no reason to have a second crack at the apple. Depp? The man has nowhere near the range he's praised for. He's a hell of a lot better an actor than many big names out there, I'll give him that, but he would not be a good Riddler.

I'd like a return to the Batman Begins style of Gotham, actually. It felt a lot darker and grittier than what they produced in The Dark Knight, it made the themes more believable. Very cool.

But ye Gods, please not Depp as Riddler. It'd be awful.

To be honest I'd love to see Casey Affleck do The Riddler. Not as a manic clown type character that they usually portray him as, but as a more of a quiet evil genius type. Not jumping around, not making stupid jokes. More dark / brooding / at war with himself over what he's doing. Be a good mirror for Batman.

Penguin would be good to have in, but in the more traditional role he plays in the comics. The local fence, the guy who knows who's moving what in the city, but batman can never pin anything on. Would mean having another one of the classic bad guys in it without having to involve them directly.

Clancy Brown did a mean Mr Freeze in The Batman series. Mike Mignola design on the character as well meant it actually looked good too.

no, he's not. I loved Jim Carrey as the Riddler. However, They definitely should have had him wear the green business suit more then once in the whole movie, and NOT put him into the spandex jumpsuit. It wasn't good in the 60s sitcom, and it wasn't good in the movie.

Rachel Weisz as Catwoman?

All this speculation frustrates me, I know it's fun but we not going to know until it's a legitimate leak or it's announced.

Can't someone get Chris Nolan on the phone to sort this out?

According to Internet Rumour(TM) Vin Diesel will be playing Robin and Catwoman will indeed be in the next movie played by Goldie Hawn. The other villian in the next movie is The Penguin, who is going to be played by The Rock.

Christian Bales rant on the set of Terminator 4 has apparently rendered him as damaged goods, so he will not be appearing as Batman. Ben Stiller will be doing the honours this time around, with Uwe Boll slated to direct.

Actually, there definitely will be a third movie, because they signed a binding contract to make another. Christopher Nolan may not direct it, but the stars are probably all returning.

Christian Bale has stated several times that if they introduce a Robin character he will not return. which would kill the franchise again. not necessarily a bad thing though....
