MtG Commander Decks - Here's some of mine, share yours if you want to.

G'day fellow addicts to cardboard crack!

Not so long ago, you helped me build a god-awful deck for a gimmick weekend, so I thought I'd share some of my favourite Commander decks that I've built over the last couple of years with you. Feel free to laugh at the jank, critique the cheese and praise the sun Nicol Bolas!

If you feel like it, share your favourite decks, ask for build advice or even just talk about your greatest wins & losses.

I'll be updating this post with a new deck every few days as I finish upgrading/editing several of my decks (also they're a pain in the butt to type out and I'm lazy). Each section of the deck will be listed by CMC, not alphabetically, btw.

Without further ado, I present to you my absolute favourite deck and the 1st I've recently finished upgrading:

Alrighty, this next deck was kind of inspired by my recent attempts at playing Dark Souls. It's definitely not a finished deck, and it's got a lot of tuning to do before I think it'll actually be playable, but given my love for janky, themed decks, I'm hoping it's fun to play. Let me know what you think (especially if you have any suggestions for improvement).

Next up, we have one of my silly gimmick decks. I really do love this deck, as it's a lot of fun to play and generally wins a few games to boot.

I do love me some Commander. Just bought Commander Anthology yesterday in fact.

Maybe I will post my deck lists later, but for now I will just list my commanders and the general idea of the decks.

Xenagos, God of Revels: My first commander deck I ever built. It is a Timmy deck in the truest sense of the word. You ramp into Xenagos, play out big creatures, and swing in for lethal. I've hit for literally hundreds of damage in one turn before (Domri Rade's ultimate ability + a 10/10 Eldrazi + someone had Gisela, Blade of Goldnight out + + Xenagos' ability to double the power. So one creature was already swinging for 80 on top of the other creatures I had.)

Narset, Enlightened Master: This is my competitive deck. It is not nice. Storm, Extra Turns, Extra Combat Phases, and Planeswalkers. I have seven walkers in this deck. Jace, The Mind Scultor, Eslpeth, Knight Errant, Karn Liberated, Ugin, The Spirit Dragon, Ral Zarek, Chandra, Torch of Defiance, and finally Gideon of the Trial. I usually either win big, or I get hated off the table with this deck. One of the more recent times I played this I won simply because people got frustrated and quit after I was on my 4th extra turn in a row.

Child of Alara: This is a modified list from one I found on tapped out. It is a charm deck, and a fun one at that. I a whole lot of charm effect, along with many different alternate win cons. Maze's end, Vraska, Door to Nothingness, etc. It is easily my most casual deck and it is always a good time.

Darien, King of Kjeldor: My newest deck and it is filled with a bit of jank. It is a soldier tribal deck and it runs a lot of self pain in order to benefit from Darien's effect. Armageddon Clock is probably my favorite card in this deck, though Worship has won me a few games.

Baral, Chief of Compliance: It is your basic blue counterspell deck. You draw a lot of cards, counter everyone's stuff, and generally lose friends.

On top of those, I also have a Rakdos, Lord of Riots deck that is just a copy of a budget commander list from MTG Goldfish. I plan to add my own flair later. There is also a super budget Captain Sisay deck that I need to play more, and finally a Sydri, Galvanic Genius deck that I bought from my local game shop.

EDIT: Decided to add my Narset list seeing as I actually had that one on Tapped Out.

EDIT 2: Went ahead and also added my Darien list. Had that one on Tapped Out as well.

Oh Nekusar, I built an Izzet clone/copy spell multiplayer deck and copied my opponent's Nekusar in a 5 players politics round. The others were not amused.

On organized play level, the most fun are the out of the box release games, because otherwise it's just back to the usual shitty netdeck infinite combo and/or game lockdown expensive decks, which are disgusting in a supposedly casual format. So mostly I just play with friends on the kitchen table.

My favourite is Ghoulcaller Gisa zombie tribal, which got a lot of new toys both last and this year. It's fairly budget and got me 3rd place once on a tournament, so I like it because I have fond memories playing with it.

I have some fun troll decks to shake up the serious meta plays, like Krenko + Grenzo library ransacking deck, with the ever hillarious Altar of Dementia.

Narset, Enlightened Master

That is a genuinely evil deck. My competitive deck is a Rakdos, Lord of Riots named "F*&# you, F*&# all of you". It's a nasty piece of work that tends to wipe everyone out by turn 6. As a result, I only play it when a newbie turns up to our group and plays an infect deck.

Hahahahaha, yeah, Nekky tends to paint a giant target on your face. I get what you mean about netdecking. It's rather silly in a casual format like Commander. I consider myself quite lucky that the local group I play with is full of inventive and creative people when it comes to deck brewing. It's really only the teens who occasionally show up who've previously only played Standard that run netdecks.

I love that combo. It's hilariously fun.

I tinker with a few decks, but my main two are a green Eldrazi deck and a BU zombie deck.

The Green deck uses Omnath as the Commander and I mainly just swing with him but I have a few eldrazi as removal or a way to bare my teeth in case a opponent brings out a big monster. Then when the time is right I play Overwhelming Stampede.

My Zombie deck is just loaded with zombie token makers or zombie lords. With Grimgrin as the commander.

Omnath is a fun one. A friend of mine runs an Omnath deck that has about 9 spells (enchants or sorceries that let him play extra lands) and 90 land cards. It's quite a brutal deck.

Nekusar with counter-spells? Man, that's basically a tutorial on how to get hated at the card table.

When I still played I was quite fond of my Roon Of The Hidden Realm deck. Control, yes, but mostly self-preservation creature control. Oh you want to wipe my field? Tap some mana and I get all the good stuff out of the way. And of course; blink all the awesome come-into-play-effects cards.

Heh, the frequent Wheel of Fortune effects combined with Hive Mind gets me a lot more hate than the counterspells (admittedly they're in the deck mostly to stop people killing Ol' Nekky with removal)

OP updated with a new deck.
