So. How would I start this thing off? In this review-post, im going to list some video-game reviewers that are really underrated. It has always made me sad how really talented people have been pushed away just so people can go back to their precious AVGN's and Knightwings. Now dont get me wrong! I love them both, but there still are alot of so called "underground" reviewers out there that havent been getting the attention that they deserve.

The GAMEBOYREVIEWER: Dont let the name distract you! He does other consoles too! But mainly gameboy and atari 2600. And also full lenght let's plays. Ok. So he is not SO underground. He has over 1,500 subscribers on youtube, but that's just because I interviewed him here, right? right? Ok, so most people missed that too, but it's on screwattack, so check it out!

Now, that i have finished promoting myself, let's continue with the gameboyreviewer: He is a clever and a funny guy that really shines on what he does and you should check him out! He is also on a band called the snowstorm that does -what else?- retro-game remixes. AWESOME! Im just listening his take on castlevania 2 right now.

KORU: Ok... I have interviewed this guy too. You know where to find it! Anyway: This dude has a little bit variety. He does almost everything from wii to the NES and the 16-bit era. He has lived a lil bit in japan, therefore the name but he speaks totally good english. His stuff is in HD too. And he has so little subscribers that he actually takes requests, which is awesome! His reviews aren't as funny, altough he does slip some jokes in there. He is calm and stays on the subject. These are the reviews that you watch, because you really are interested in the games he reviews. He always has a point and makes it clear what he likes and what he does'nt like. They are clear and awesome!

He also does a ranting show called the "house of koru". It's have been on a hiatus for some time now but, you should still check it out.

NESSNESMASTER: And this is a guy im PLANNING to interview! ok, i'll stop here. :P I promise, no more self-promotion! Here is an interesting reviewer who also takes requests. He is a collector and uploads collection-videos and music, intros and other shit too, but his work definitelly shines on reviews. That dude is seriosly damn funny with his extreme expressions, crappy acting and damn good jokes. And he has an awesome hat! And played quitar after staying up like 3 nights in a row. Shortly: he is pretty damn awesome. Check him out!

CLASSIC GAMES REVISITED: This guy mainly does atari- and famicom-stuff, but thats not a bad thing! You wouldnt quess what kinds of weird accesories those systems have! He has only about 750 subscribers, so for a show that well made, it's a sin! Best part about it: He sells almost all the stuff he reviews on ebay! They arent really reviews, but overviews. He tells us about the history, how the game plays and some opinions about it. Videos are short and awesome. I have no idea if his theme-song is made by him, but it's pretty damn catchy! Check him out!

There are just a few. I'll make a part 2 for this eventually, if this review the reviewers-thing is even a slight success. Thanks!

There's a reason thses things don't get attention. Not because they suck, but because no one wants to read about the same old "classic" game for the hundredth time

Pretty much, what Pimppeter2 said, retro-reviews just aren't all that interesting for the most part, even if you play a lot of old games there are just so many reviews on older games that it's crazy.

If I had to pick reviewers that I think deserve more attention they would be the Whity The Reviewer/Slasher Thrasher combo from Youtube. I value their opinions in general, even if they could be better speakers.

I also think people should give Scorpia more credit for being an influance on modern reviewers. One of the first "slice and dice" gaming reviewers, if not the first, Scorpia dominated before what seemed to be a general outcry on this style of review. I don't think there would be a "Yahtzee" without Scorpia, and on the occasions when I've gotten acidic while I've been compared to Yahtzee, I've been slamming games longer than he has I'd imagine and my inspiration is likewise a bit older. :)

James is good cause his vids are about past titles and you do not know what he is gonna do next. Also, he is one hell of a performer. It is hard being mad and rant and record and play a game at the same time.

Yes, but retro game shows are really famous no matter what. Pat the nes punk and Classic game room for example are nothing like AVGN, but still have some of the biggest fanbases in youtube.
