Modern Warfare Mobilized, first impressions

Yes I was successful in my quest for MWM. For it's $30 price I'd say it's worth it.

First off, the good. It definitely feels like a Call of Duty game. Everything from previous games is here. MWM has a nice selection of weapons scanning enemy, British, and American armories. The weapons are all nicely modeled and handle very easily. Your teammates have pretty good accuracy and can handle themselves quite well. The enemies have god accuracy as well, making the game pretty hard even on normal difficulty. The missions are well done, if a bit linear. The graphics, if you look closely, suck. But if you sit back and play the game, they work well.

And on to the bad. My first complaint, WHY CAN'T I JUMP? Apparently modern soldiers have BMI's of a couple hundred because you move dreadfully slow and can't jump. The sound is sub-par, with most of the guns sounding like airsoft guns. Even the SPAS-12 sounds like bubble wrap. But the biggest thing that will turn you off the game at first is the controls. It controls just like Metroid Prime Hunters. Turning around 180 degrees takes a good 3 stylus strokes because of the small screen, so in combat this can be your death. Aiming down the sight is difficult because you have to tap a button on the touch screen, and in heavy fire this can make you say "Fuck it" and just shoot from the hip.

Overall, you will get used to the controls and become an expert player in a short amount of time, but still be challenged.

8/10

I could jump, also reviews are usually expected to be longer than that.

I isn't a full review.

It's just my thoughts until I finish it.

Yea, well, my daughter's name is in the credits so I'm obligated to buy it anyway. But I am glad to hear it's good. I wouldn't want my little lady's name being attached to anything awful.

What hand did she play in the design? Just out of curiosity.

Perhaps I'll persuade my little brother to get a goodDS game for once.

Well, she's five months old so I'm going with Inspiration.

Or lead design. Because she's a goddamn prodigy.

If it's possible, I'm actually more confused. But congrats anyway!

She was born right about the time that our fellow forum goer Pxdn Ninja was working on the credits for the game. He's a designer over at n-Space and put her name in the special thanks section as a present to the two of us.

It's very awesome of him and he's probably going to make me buy him a drink when he comes in for thanksgiving. Sadly though, now my daughter has more nerd cred than I do.
