This review was based on the PS3 version of the game.

I liked your review a lot.

You misspelled "hay".

Keep up the good work, I might consider buying games based off your reviews.

Good review, but as for that very last line, come on! That's not the sort of thing I want to know before I get the game, you just spoiled the surprise.

As I said, the review besides that was very good. I really want this game.

Nice review. And yes, I think I just finished watching AssCreed II in fact *buttons up flies*

I think all reviews should be that short.

It was good: I liked it.
It was alright: take a look if you'd like.
It wasn't bad: If you got nothing else to do, pick it up for some quick Zero Punctuation laughs.
No, just no.

I was never sure of the Assassin's Creed games, should I pick up a copy of the first?

Good review, although at times you were a bit confusing. You claim that you like it, but you seem to be annoyed by the flaws so much that one might wonder how you might like it. And by the way, I'd erase the last part, nobody wants that spoiler.

Well, you can read a short summary of the first story, that's what I did. But I was more interested in Ezio's story than Desmond's. Since the first one got so much criticism, I skipped that one. But if you're really that interested in the story of the first one, then go ahead. But you can get by with just reading the basics of the plot.

It depends. It's certainly not a perfect game by any means. I personally wasn't that impressed, partly because the combat is terrible, but mostly because it was pitched originally as the next gen Prince of Persia, which, since you hold one button to free run, it isn't (and neither is that other piece of shit from Ubisoft)

Certainly the actual assasanation is a lot of fun, and just climbing buildings is great (if easy) but for ever good thing about AssCreed the was something bad to go with it.

I'd certainly recommend it if you find it cheap, which you probably will. I'm intregued enough to get the second one (even if it's for Christmas so I don't have to pay) if that's any indication.

Nice, informative and short but disappointing review. I hoped Ubisoft would have improved the combat and expanded the platforming. I guess not. Sigh... As long as it isn't as bloody repetitive as the first one, I'm willing to give it a go... when it's released on the PC, that is.

I am suddenly alarmed...

Let me put it this way: would you watch The Two Towers without watching The Fellowship of the Ring?

This comment confuses me...

Alright, thanks mate. Probably saved me a bit of money. Thats what the internet's for I guess :D

I think the best part about the game is the same as the first. having an entier area cleared of people because you killed them all. For me that never gets old. but now it's a pile of people in a haystack instead of on the floor..

I'm always confused by reviewers of Assassin's Creed games' combat. I like the combat, and this time around there's more ways to take out your enemies. I think you could have mentioned all of the side stuff you get to do in AC 2: side missions, searching for chests to loot, feathers, tombs, etc. Other than that I agree with your review.

Maybe rent it, it was a great game, and it will make AC2 seem so much better compared to the first. Kinda like watching the movie than reading then book ya know?

It was a pretty good review, you were a bit less serious than other reviewers(which isnt a bad thing) and it was nice to read.

In terms of the game, I give it a 9 outta 10, a truly fantastic game that is a joy to play, the combat can be extremely frustrating at times and I agree that money is so easy to come by that halfway through the game you have enough money to buy all the whores in Venice twice... three times over.

In terms of a sequel, I give it a 15 outta 10. It took almost everything that was wrong with the first game(too simple, way to much repetition, limited armour/weapons, assassination/fighting restrictions) and be rid of it. Making it in my mind one of the best sequels I have certainly ever played. What better of a sequel than to take the original, fix the flaws, and add tons more shit?

Worth the money. Buy it. NOW!

I bonk you on the head good sir!

I mean.. Honestly.. Did "Grade A spoiler" read like "FREE COOKIES!!!" to you? Not trying to sound mean in anyway. I just found your comment pretty hilarious, that's all.

Edit: Bah, should have looked at the date of this thread.. Feel free to delete this comment mods.. *Bonks self on head*

Yeah, it didn't have that spoiler tag when I read it, he added that in later. I think you may have figured that out, based on your edit, but then that could have just been directed at the fact that it's an old thread, so I figured I'd let you know either way.

Nice review, I only wished you covered the story a bit more. And what was good.

In the first game the titular assassin was a selfish

Bhuw? The game wasn't called 'Altair', it wasn't even called 'Assassin'

, one has to wonder whether or not there was ever a game where item degradation was a good idea...besides Warrior Within, that is.

Umm, Morrowind and Oblivion?

EDIT: Damn NecroMancers!

Yeah, the thought went through my mind when I realized I made an oopsie, so it was a bit of both really. I'm still bonking you on the head though! Just because...

I blame Ht for having a link to this from a newer review some where :-P.. Or atleast what I think is a newer review... Now I'm really doubting myself. o.o;

If it was the Twilight Princess review, yes, that's from today. And don't worry, we won't crucify you for necroing a thread, just don't make too much of a habit of it.

Meh. I'm not worried, mostly just embarrassed... My eagerness to respond to something that I found interesting got the best of me here, and I'm sure this isn't the first time some one forgot to look at the thread dates.

I guess it's time to let this thread go back to sleep though. Thanks for being cool about it!

Good review here short sweet and to the point and it was also nicely detailed and fun to read. It makes me want to put reviews of my own back up here again as soon as i cure this disease i have called laziness

Very good review, didn't drag on too long and you made your point well!

Great review, really sums it up. Personally I liked asscreed 1 better even when it messed its pants at the end by making you fight horde after horde of people with unblockable attacks like it was god of war or something. Yes the investigations are tedious and boring but you really felt like you were stalking your prey. Also the asscreed 2 gun is just unfair; I was able to finish all the assassination contracts easily and earn loads of cash thus all challenge left the game( as if it wasn't easy enough)

brilliant review, If I could I'd subscribe to you :D

As I am playing the 360 version of this game, I find myself less and less interested in the story as it continues. I am glad it is less linear than the first game since it lets me run around and skirt the story to make some money and kill guards and those annoying dicks with lutes. I can't tell you how many times I've just stabbed them straight in the gut as soon as they start skipping over to get in my way and hump my leg. Why should I throw out coins to distract the jerk when I can just disembowel the dingleberry? Chasing mailmen is another past time I am getting fond of just for the rooftop chases just before I get the high road and then get a jumping assassination on him. Never hurts to be on his tail and a guard or two joins the chase, kill'em all and let gravity sort them out as they slide off the roof.
The story is just boring enough for me that I don't care. I'm not too hot on the races either because with the way the camera shifts around, it makes it hard to control the parkour. I've tried running from guards, swinging on a potted plant around a corner and the camera lags so that when I land and go to scale a wall, genius jumps down from where he lands and starts running towards the camera (with basically no life left after jumping down from four or ten stories). More fun to run around, complete a few missions to unlock equipment, then go on a guard-killing streak for a while. It is also nice you can buy the treasure maps from art dealers as well!

I really liked this game but the lack of replay vaule really lowered my veiw on it, all in all a good game. defeniatly has the best credits of any game iv'e ever played but the thing in the vault was a pretty weak punchline for such big build up.
