Oh Elite Beat Agents! You have been released a year or two earlier and you're still making me all happy and warm inside after all this time. With your bright lights, addictive gameplay, and crazy tone, it's no wonder that i'm still enjoying "Jumpin' Jack Flash" on Sweatin' after failing for the 21st time!
I borrowed "Elite Beat Agents" for the Nintendo DS from my friend a while back and I am glad I mooched off of him for the 46th time.
Right from the start you realise how wacky and crazy this game is going to be; literaly. Right from the begining a star whooshes past the screen with a crowd cheering in the background and someone says "The Elite Beat Agents are at your service!". It may not be much, but it definatly sets the tone of the whole game you are about to enjoy.
EBA's gameplay consists of hit markers that you have to hit. Though I won't go into detail (look at the tutorials you lazy ass!) you basically hit the markers in time with the music. Though some songs aren't as well beat as you might think the beat of the song goes, it's addicting and keeps you on your toes.
Often times, however, I'm playing a song and I feel completely off beat to what the game wants me to play to. But you get used to it when you memorize where the markers will be.
Speaking of gameplay, it's so addictive in this game that even if you fail a song (which I garauntee will happen) you just want to keep on comeing back and try one more time before your parents yell at you to turn the lights off and go to sleep.
There are only about 16 songs in this game, but from the amount of times that you will fail it is more than enough. Some of the songs in this game are either "love it" or "hate it". For example, I love "The Anthem" but I absolutely hate "Material Girl" as I just want to beat down the song and dig it a grave of trash. Some songs may feel out of place like "Sk8er Boi" but overall, even though there arn't alot of songs, it will still take you a while to beat it even on the lowest difficulty.
Now difficulty; it definatly ranges from "Easy peasy" too "Punishing Panda!". That's not to say that it's so difficult that you will want to throw it in a river, fish it out, and throw it back it (though for some reason that was my case <_<;) you will always want to come back and try to beat that one damn song on "Punishing Panda!" if only for one more time. This is a game that takes practice, and it's hella fun practicing in this game.
I definatly recomend this game for any body looking for both a great game and (i'm assuming) a great bargain. Buy it for your kids, i'm sure you'll both be happy, the kid with the great game and the parent for the great bargain!
(this is my first review, but don't go easy on it. Either make sweet love to it, or completely rape it. Your choice)
