Would we be allowed to include a video supplement? Would be a great help to what I am planning

Not at this time, no.

Dang, I actually wanted to do that at one point for one of my reviews. Ah well, I can always do it for one of my many non-Guest Reviews. Am I still on queue for Star Ocean, or have I been bumped from queue for taking for-freakin'-ever?

Firstly, wrong forum. That's something not to do.
Secondly, Forum Guidelines. Study well.
Thirdly, welcome to The Escapist.

Oh snap! I've posted 2 movie reviews here, I'm sorry about that. Any problems with it please delete them, I'm sorry for not reading the rules before hand!

We're not doing movie reviews at the moment, but may in future. For now, just keep adding them to our User Reviews forum. :)

Susan, I'm still wondering what you thought of my Saints Row 2 review. You never got back to me like you did the previous times (and you said you got the second draft)...

I'm a little concerned here. If you aren't gonna use my review or you aren't interested anymore, you really should let me know...

There's a backlog of about 20 kerjillion reviews from what I can tell, add that to the fact she actually has a job with the magazine and your review may have slipped down on the to-do list.

Don't fear, just be patient

I just think it's kinda odd that she got back to me immediately for the first two times I sent her my review (after I revised things and sent it back to her) and then I didn't hear from her...

I'm a very patient person and i'm not really worried about it. She'll get back to me when she gets the time to :D

I would like to throw my hat into the ring (if that's quite alright). I've been writing movie reviews here for a few months now, and have a good mind to review more than a few games over the next little while since I plan to take this whole critic/journalism thing fairly seriously.

I hate to wedge myself into the affairs of others (I have a strong feeling that's exactly what I'm doing), so please excuse me if I'm not using the right channels.

Thanks,
- Maet.

Hey Suzy,

Just posting, as I am wondering about my own Guest Review. I sent it to you, but I haven't received anything back as of yet. I don't want to rush you or anything, but it's been more of a week and I still haven't gotten a reply.

It took a lot of work to make that review, I would love to know my efforts have been noticed by anyone other than my proofreaders.

By the way, can I give a kudos to them in the review, or will that have to go to the comments section?

Hi there --

Yep, got it (thank you!), but haven't had a chance to go through it yet. I'll be out of the office for GDC all next week, and between prepping for the show itself and prepping simply to be out of the office for a week, I'm a bit behind on certain things. Rest assured, you have not been forgotten. :)

i have an idea, if you choose to accept...
It is a modification-turned-independent title Tremulous. It is an FPS/RTS int he vein of Natural Selection. Aliens versus Humans. I downloaded it off ModDB and I found it was pretty fun if it had a huge learning curve. I have been fiddling with it for a while now, trying to get ready to write an honest review and I was hoping I could feature it. Not to toot my own horn but I usually give fair reviews.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm glad that it arrived; I was uncertain whether I got your email address right for a while.

EDIT: Have fun at the GDC, by the way.

Although I hate to nominate myself, I feel my idea of free to play game reviews would be entertaining for most. When I was attempting to locate detail on F2P games, I could never find anything that filled my needs. There are a ton of free games out there, and one might not have the time to inspect the vast amount of content available. I have done a couple reviews so far and have a truck load of material. I would be more than happy to submit a Guest Review if you requested.

Thank you.

Pick out a game, and pitch a request over to Susan.

Huh? I thought we had to be recommended by someone else, not by ourselves. Maybe I misread something?

And if we do review stuff, does it matter on how old it is(for Guest Reviews)? For instance, I have a Indigo Prophecy review I plan on posting tommorow, but I don't think that anyone will consider that game to be "recent."

I believe I've seen Susan say "A few months" once or twice. I'd suggest no older than 2 months (notable exclusions for re-releases like the Virtual Console, PSN Download, and LIVE Arcade, which can be originally years old but so long as they were re-released recently and important).

As far as the recommendation, it was originally going to be a single reviewer to do a regular column, but it changed to reflect individual users capability to submit them. Now it's just contacting Susan politely, and showing enough interest. Note that they don't re-run reviews, so if someone else is on-docket for the same game, you won't be getting the spot.

There's no need for the bold text... I just missed seeing that, as I'm wont to do, being a human being and all. I'm terribly sorry if it seems like I'm wasting your time, but it was an earnest mistake.

Very well then. I probably won't try for this for awhile, as I currently have no TV, and the majority of recent stuff I would like to review is one console or another.

Don't take it like that, it's what he does to every user's name that he writes.

Among a myriad other little.....Quirks.

I think Scott got upset mostly because NewClassic didn't bold Susan's name when he first quoted him, and then did the next time, which could easily have been interpreted as 'PAY ATTENTION, YOU IDIOT!'

Easy interpretation, honestly. I'll admit there are times I forget to bold out users names. Though honestly, I more often bold even when I don't think to, so it's my standard. Still, mistakes are made, and I sent a PM of explanation and apology some time ago.

Also, are you using "quirks" as a good thing or bad thing?

Depends on your opinion of kittens.
