I'd like to start by saying, i've played the PoP series since I was a wee lad. I was by no means disappointed by the newest edition to the series. In my opinion i'd say it was without a doubt the strongest of any of the games. It had an exceptional plot, smooth combat, amazing platforming, and a beautiful enviornment.
The combat was much more refined in this sequal, but the "quick kills" rarely worked. If the game feels like inserting quick time events, it has to make sure they work. Many times i'd be droppin' down for the kill and i hit the button right on time, and nothing would happen.
The platforming never ceased to amaze me, as the stunts became more and more complicated.
The sands of time are still used to a perfect extent. Theres not much to say about them, other then they are the pivotal variable in this series, that makes me keep buying the sequals. There is one sequence that i found absoluetly unbearable though. A boss, whos every hit whipes the princes health out entirely. The fight also felt too much like a god of war clone.
The enviornment (in this case, war torn Baballon) is truely majestic, but there are moments that made me ask myself the same question over and over... Who designs a city like this? I'd have to wall run my way just to get to the top of a two story house. Is the entire city of baballon full of avid Parkor enthusiasts?! Oh and the cart races felt alittle... forced and uneccesary. the instant deaths from... running into a wall at above 10 MPH are a tad ridiculous and irritating.
The plot was a fine continuation of the series. I found the ending to be satisfying... except i was really hoping to ACTUALLY fight the dark prince. Speaking of the dark prince, i found his gameplay to be entertaining. His moves also gave me some insight into the violent being that was the dark prince.
All that aside, i'd say PoP:TT is an excellent platformer, that i can't recommend enough.
Lets hope the future sequal lives up to its predecessor.

Okay, it's BABYLON! BABYLON! BABYLON!

Anyway. This was my least favorite of the series. The availability of the six step combo from the get go was a little perturbing. The weapon physics became backwards. Later maces in Warrior Within would knock down your opponents, however in Two Thrones, the axe had the knock down factor, while the mace did not.
The story, while a twist worthy of M. Knight Shyamalamndingdong, was nothing more than a cop-out. The game is nothing but a combat revamp of Sands of Time, the final boss is the same person, and now I've payed 60 bucks for it. Shame.
The Dark Prince was a HORRIBLE idea. As if the Prince didn't look a little too close to an emo before, now they're glorifying the look. Could not stand it. Horrible mechanics as well.
This game decided that the previous two were great, and shat upon them in my opinion.

I'd say the dark prince was a manifestation of that annoying emo side of the prince. This allowed the two in my mind to remain seperate entitys. And There was no "terrible twist". It was just a continuous plot. The 2nd had a "What a twist moment" but not this one... i beat it on a rental. you might be upset cause you had to pay for it, and it was below your expectations.

Actually it met my expectations. I don't put reserved feelings on games because that's a fast tarck to auto let downs.

yet you still sound let down. Oh and i rarely dwelt on whatever my sidearm was. I generally just let the fight flow on. Admittedly thats abit of a stupid error, but its nothing i even noticed

You need to start making your reviews a bit longer, you need to start using the enter button a bit more and you need to fix yuor speling errols.
Also you should talk a bit more about the game and maybe compare it to other games in the series since you have played them.

Oh because I am. That tells you how bad it was, where; in a situation wherein you cannot be let down, you are still let down. :D
