LORD KRUNK REVIEWS - HARVIE KRUMPET

Some are born great,
Some achieve greatness,
Some have greatness thrust upon them...
And then...there are others...

Harvie Krumpet, a claymation made by Adam Elliot, is the life story of fictional character Harvek Milos Krumpetski (probably the most unlucky man in the world), and his experiences and philosophical discoveries along the way.
On his journey throughout life, he explores the wonders of love, freedom, nudity and the meaning of what it is to be human.

Meet Harvie.

This is a charming, funny and at times, sad tale, told brilliantly with claymation, and as such, as won a variety of awards, in particular, "Best Short Film" in the 2004 Academy Awards.

Harvie. A rebel at heart.

The film is told from the narrator's perspective, with very little speech from Harvie himself. It also expresses his point of view on various themes from 1922 onwards, such as World War 2, assimilation, equal rights, love, sickness, class barriers and racism.
The latter is expressed many times in the film; when Harvie is referred to frequently as "Retarded Migrant" and when he sees the OMO ad:

OMO! Makes your whites whiter!

There is absolutely nothing about this film that I can criticize. The story is well-told, from beginning to end, the humour is sometimes brilliant, sometimes tasteless, but is guaranteed to make you laugh. The animation is brilliantly executed, and it makes you wonder how long it must have taken them to animate even a 22 minute animation.
Also, the use of Harvie's random "FAKTS" that pop up throughout the movie give the movie a different element; Harvie's own point of view on life.

One of Harvie's "Fakts."

I laughed, I cried (not quite), I sympathised with the poor man, and in my books, that gains Lord Krunk's Seal of Approval (Shut up, I'm still making it).

I would even go so far as to say that Harvie Krumpet would be my favourite film in general.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend that you watch this short film.

The pictures should not take up 80% of the review.

I agree, looking back.
Hold on a sec.

EDIT: I really didn't expect the pics to be that big.

Nothing's perfect.

I can't give it a 10, because there will be someone in the world that thinks differently.

There always is.

Someone will think different over a 9.5 its all opinion.

True. I would have given it a 10, but if there is one fatal flaw; one thing I've overlooked, then my review doesn't count.

I'm giving it a 9.5, because it's the closest thing to perfect.

I love Harvie Krumpet! Anyone that hasn't seen it should and if they refuse, we take your left nut and/or kidney. I learnt, laughed and loved the lil fella, all naked and retarded.
