Izzie put her hand hand up. "Thank you but no thank you. My hands are still healing from the gun training I had a few moments ago." Izzie looked at both of her hands, both were badly bruised because of the recoil from the assault rifles she had just been training with. Izzie had to do gun training, much to her dismay, but because her awkward handling of guns she never quite got the hang of it.

Thats why I stick to electronics.

"Suit yourselves, I happen to like a full stomach." Daniel said.

Talon scowled as he limped through the halls with a cane. Apparently, He thought running for hours on end with a bullet wound in your leg tends to do more damage than the bullet did in the first place. The doctors in their base had confined him to a bed for several days, but he had started to walk around anyway. Since he was doing so well, they had taken him off painkillers that morning, and he was in a crappy mood as a result.

He glanced into the firing range, and suddenly felt a need to fire a few slugs into a practice dummy. He asked the attendant for a gun, but was denied:
"Sorry, can't let you in your condition."
"Oh, fuck you." Talon said, but turned and left anyway. He found a seat near where several of the former prisoners were practicing and sat down. He waited for a momentary pause in the gunfire, then asked, "Anybody else had a good week?"

Micah heard Talon's familiar voice ask how they were doing and he responded.

"My week has gone pretty well. After being in that lonely cell, it's nice to actually be able to interact with people and move about freely. Today is only going to get better, as I'm having dinner with my father tonight. It'll be nice to spend time with the old man. I sure as hell missed him."

Aries looked at Talon, "Yeah, I can't say it was bad. I had bits of metal taken out of my arm and leg, my leg is in a cast so I can hardly walk, my good arm is casted up so I can't shoot, and I can hardly sleep anymore without rolling onto my arm, making it hurt like Hell."
Aries paused for a bit, thinking, "Yep I think that sums up my week pretty nicely. How has yours been?"

"They've been trying to keep me in bed after all the damage I did to my leg. I wouldn't let them, but now they see fit to take my painkillers. Stupid bastards."

Talon realized then that he was being an ass, even though he had come to them,"As long as you guys are doing well; it's good to finally see some other people around."

Joshua took a drag on his smoke before answering, "Well I'm glad they were willing to accept me but I'm in the same boat with you with guns,a 'possible threat' i guess they called it."

Izzie got up from the lunch table and made her way towards the gun range. When she walked in she noticed several of the newly rescued members sitting at a table. She walked over and smiled. "Hello everyone. My name is Izzie, and I'm tech support for the base. I know that I didn't introduce myself properly yet, but thats because we didn't have any time to be formal. May I ask what everyones name is?"

"Micah Smith. Captain Micah Smith, is who I am. I'm a military strategist-slash-tactician-slash-field commander." Micah unloaded the empty clip from his pistol and turned in both to the attendant.

"My job is to organize, and if necessary, lead, missions like the one you-yourself went on to save us. It's very nice to meet you Izzie. Don't worry, despite my size, I'm actually a nice fellow."

Mike was quiet since he had arrived in the base, he was usually quiet. A cute girl that looked about his age walked in and asked everyones names.

Hhmm, maybe this wont be so bad... This is a good enough time as ever to talk.

"Erm... Hey Izzie, I'm Mike, I was in prison and my new friends here broke me out. If not for them I would have either died, or gone crazy. I... well, I don't really talk much after my.... after my mother died."

Izzie smiled sweetly at the new members. "Well I'm glad to have you all aboard. I can't wait to see what you excel at. You're all assets to the resistance and its an honor to have you."

Marie walked into the room as Izzie was talking. "Assets as long as you can do something besides being captured, that is."

I think that these folks have proved their worth they got out of a high security prison in case you hadn't noticed.

Daniel entered the room and heard a bit of conversation. "Speaking of which, what did you all do to get on ONI's bad side?" He asked the former prisoners.

Talon spoke up first. "I was trying to get rid of their commander for that base. I was undercover, but someone walked in just as I pulled a gun. I was caught, shot, and thrown in prison. It turns out that the same commander was the one who tried to interrogate me, so I ended up killing him after all."

Wait a moment you killed a commander...when and where

"These guys saw, I was taken for interrogation just before we escaped. It wasn't too far from the prison. A guy in a dress uniform tried to beat the shit out of me. I fought back, he pulled a gun, and I ended up snapping his neck. That's how I got the keys to unlock the cells."

Commander Berckly entered the room just as everyone was getting into the conversation. "Hate to interrupt your social time but we have a new assignment." he said, signalling for the group to follow him to the briefing room. The commander also sent out a page to the rest of the team. He talked to the group as they were walking to the room. "I trust that all of you are well rested? Even if you aren't you'll probably have some time to rest on the ship. But to the briefing room first." he said.

Micah walked to the briefing room, to the meeting headed by Commander Berckly. On the walk over, he pulled out his handheld computer and sent a message to his father. The message explained that their dinner plans would have to be postponed, and that he was sorry.

Micah sat down in the briefing room, on the left-hand side of the Commander.

Izzie was one of the first people in the briefing room. She sat close to the commander. As always she had her laptop close to her, in case the commander needed for her to retrieve something.

"So commander, what type of mission are we going on?"

"We recently intercepted some information on a UNSC freighter." Berckly started, "Our supplies, especially food, are running low. From what we learned, this freighter should give us plenty of food and other necessities.

"We have secured the route this ship will be taking, and you're team was chosen to carry out this mission. I understand the former prisoners have been through our basic training and tests already, so you should all be able to contribute.

"All you have to do is secure the supplies onboard that ship. How you do so is entirely up to you."

"Why don't we just kill the guards and take the supplies?"

"Or, we could try and take as much as we can without raising alarm. If we sneak in, we stand a better chance of not dying, in my opinion."

Talon started to think out loud, "Try not to think small-scale, this is a whole UNSC freighter. Plenty of supplies, way more than we could break in and take in one load, and plenty of personnel. What can we do about that? . . ."

"Okay. I have an idea. I have an ONI uniform in my footlocker from the prison. I could sneak in, and disable something vital. Security would be the best bet. Then, while they're focused on that problem, everyone else goes in.
"Another distraction is made for them. Giving me, and maybe a small group to go in and disable other things. Life support, controls, drive cores, et certa. With all that broken, they'll have no choice but to abandon the ship. We get a craft to pull the freighter here. Then, we have food, a good sized ship, and maybe even some guns."

It's risky, I like it some one can use my old uniform as well. I won't be able to they're going to be watching for me

Micah thought about the situation thoroughly, wanting to make sure that the proper action was taken, seeing as he would be leading these people on this mission.

"You wouldn't happen to have a visual of the ship, would you? If possible, we may be able to simply outgun the ship with our own gunships, however few they may be."

"But thats risky. The last thing we want to do it cause more peoples death.. on our side anyway. I say that disabling everything is a good plan. I can do it, all of it, in under six minutes."

Talon felt the eyes in the room fall upon him after Joshua's comment. He looked at him. "Nothing personal, I was on a mission."

Pausing a second to think over Izzie's suggestion, he added,"I don't think that taking out life-support would be a good choice. We don't want to rely on pressure suits if we're expecting a fight. Too much chance of getting holed."

What about opening the vacum doors remotely that would do it. Joshua felt the cold sting of Talon's words sink into his heart it was true he had killed his father

"A problem with that," Berckley cut in. "UNSC ships are now shielded from outside interference. Nothing but a message personally encrypted by a captain gets through. Joshua's codes won't do it; his father was a marine. Anything you do will have to be done through hard-lines."

"That's fine." Daniel said, "We can just get Izzie in and let her do her thing. But maybe we should split up? One team could escort Izzie and then secure the bridge, the other will find the cargo and clear out any resistance. What do you all think?"

"I'll help escort Izzie."
