At least you aren't in the middle of Robot Dystopia. I think I've had a sharpshooter MAR-S unit taking aim for several months now. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 372 Joined: 19 Jun 2009 | True, but some RPs move quite swiftly. It's also useful for people who have to go away for a while. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2893 Joined: 1 Mar 2009 | Sounds good, my RP hasn't been round long enough though :( so I'll do it next time :D |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4950 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Wahey! Only one more day until our RP's grace the Escapist front page. I smell badges. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 359 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | This is a topic. All penmanship is of the highest quality. It is embroidered with rings of win. It menaces with spikes made of awesomeness. Seriously, I love this. What better way than to catch up on all the inventive Role Playing threads. I'll be sure to read this every month. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1214 Joined: 22 Apr 2008 | Just finished my summary, and I have this to say: goddamn is it hard to get everything into just a hundred words. |

90% of your RP can't be seen by the public though. Too much scheming! |

Might want to hurry. Has to be in for today. |
Senior Editor Posts: 2296 Joined: 9 Jan 2007 | RP Digest #1 should be going up in just a bit, and thanks to everyone who submitted a synopsis! I think they all turned out very well, even with the draconian word limit. :) In future, however, please remember, folks, that in addition to the synopsis, I need: The Name of the RP The more you make me look for that information, the crankier I shall be. |

Thank god I gave you all the information. Angry Susan Ardent is scary :( Hope the Digest goes down well. It'll be nice to get the other members of the forum involved in some RPing. We always need new members. |

The only that makes me angrier, in fact, are people calling me Ardent. ;) I'm afraid to report that there will be a delay in the launch of the RP Digest. Most folks who sent in a submission sent in a summary of the entire RP, as opposed to a blurb that would bring us up to speed on what's been happening lately. Upon reflection, I think that might be confusing for folks -- they may start thinking the Digest is a place to advertise their RPs, which it isn't. So, in the interests of getting this right from the beginning, I'm going to email those folks so they can supply a blurb about what's been happening recently in their RPs. Sparrow Tag did a great job with his submission, as did Zemelac -- you may want to ask them for pointers. I really do apologize for the delay, but I think we all agree that we want this to be the best it can be, so that RPs will continue to thrive. Thanks very much for your patience. |

Aha! Come to me folks, I'm a fountain of knowledge. And erm, ahem. That was a spelling mistake. Most definately a spelling mistake. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 521 Joined: 6 May 2009 | Oh, god. I never gave you the link! I can give it to you if you still need it, unless you are already done. And if you want Ardent, you can cut off those last part of my submission that advertises it. I wasn't really sure, so I went ahead and added it. |

*cough* Arendt *cough*
I appear to be wrong. |

My bad. So, I should still send her the link? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1214 Joined: 22 Apr 2008 | Gah! I forgot the link! ...but it seems I was mentioned as one of the people who did it correctly. Huh. Should I just assume you have a link to my RP, then? If not...here you go. |

Senior Editor Posts: 2296 Joined: 9 Jan 2007 | Ok, after a wee bit of tweaking, we're ready to go! The first edition of the Digest will be going up in just a few hours. Thanks to everyone who sent in rewrites -- your speedy response was very much appreciated. And it's Arendt, folks. Says so right over there on the left. ;) |

Could you spell it phonetically? Because it seems you'd say it the same either way xD Sorry. |

The way Susan says it in Review Video's is sort of like "Are-n'dt-" |

Ooh, I'm getting you. |
Senior Editor Posts: 2296 Joined: 9 Jan 2007 | It sounds exactly like the contraction for "are not," and given that the D comes after the E, I can't see how it could possibly sound anything like Ardent. Harrumph. Well, you'd be grumpy, too, if people had been getting your name wrong your entire life. When I was a telemarketer, I actually kept a list of the ways people got it wrong. I think my favorites were Arm, North, and Orange. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4950 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Well hey, folks, would you look at that. The first one be up! |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1214 Joined: 22 Apr 2008 | Hey, it's up! Hmmm... The headers seem off. When the title of the RP goes on to a second line the tops of the letters and the bottom of the previous line intersect. Besides that, it looks great. I like the picture, especially. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2142 Joined: 23 Jan 2008 | I fully condone that, Miss Arendt. I'd be pissed. It's honestly quite easy to pronounce. Not like Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116. It's pronounced "Albin". |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 521 Joined: 6 May 2009 | I like it. :3 |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4950 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Indeed! I shall have my cohort and partner in crime (Cough, co-GM) send the submission this week! ;D |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 521 Joined: 6 May 2009 | Oh yeah. I should get to work on that. :P |

May want to hurry up! Remember folks, if it's not in by Sunday morning, Susan won't accept it. |

Ok, let me answer some questions!
We'll feature as many RPs in each Digest as we get summaries submitted. If you don't want to submit every week, you don't have to -- it's not like you'll lose your spot, or anything. Just send in an update when you feel it's appropriate.
I think that for the first one, just a general "here's what's going on" will be appropriate. If that takes a bit more than 100 words, that's ok, but I don't want novels, people! The digest can't be 50 pages long, or it defeats the purpose.
No images at this time, sorry. Perhaps in the future.
Also, the first Digest will be running on August 3rd. Some people have already sent in summaries -- unless you want that to be your first submission (and I'm fine with that) -- I suggest you resubmit a summary by this coming Sunday, August 2nd.
