*sigh*

I may join, mostly because I just finished reading the Hobbit and I wish to play as a dwarf. Keep me up for consideration.

Name: Korgan Thoral

Race: Dwarf

Class: Fighter

Age: 45

Appearance:

Weapons: Korgan always carries his family's axe, Snaga ('The Sender'), passed down from his father's side of the family for generations. A double-headed battle axe, Korgan can wield it with either one or both of his hands with terrifying efficiency in a melee. The blade and haft are engraved with ornate Dwarven runes, detailing the history of his family and his caste. He also has an intricately constructed dagger hanging at his waist that he constructed as a young dwarf to arm himself for his rite of passage. Disdaining bows and Dwarven blackpowder, he prefers to be in the thick of the fight.

Armour-wise, he wears a horned helm, a symbol of his warrior status in Dwarvish culture, and is clad in finely constructed Dwarven chainmail. He carries a round shield with him, which he is able to use to great effect in combat as a complement to Snaga.

Personality: Gruff and blunt like many Dwarves, Korgan will not mince his words to avoid causing offence to others, and will happily go toe to toe with anyone who takes up an issue with him. Since Dwarves have no natural flair for magic, many view mages and sorcerors with suspicion, though they are not above using magical items, and Korgan is no exception, often scorning mages and harbouring a suspicion of the Oktra and their natural aptitude for the art. Viewing humans with his race's stereotypical paranoia, Korgan can respect them for their adaptability, if not actually like them. Elves, however, he despises, for reasons unknown. Despite his gruff exterior, Korgan reveres the Dwarven pantheon and treats the Dwarven priestly caste with great respect.

Bio/History: Born in the subterranean stronghold of Clan Azaghal, Baranzibar, Korgan is descended from a long line of Dwarven warriors. Born into the warrior caste, he soon began his training with the warriors of his Clan soon after completing his rite of passage - surviving a week in the deep caverns of Baranzibar with nothing but the tools he crafted for himself - aged 16. The warrior caste of Baranzibar, though not strictly nobility, are well respected amongst the Clan as honourable and valiant, and thus are able to exercise a wide degree of influence and respect in the rigid Dwarven caste system, which leaves the lower class miners in grinding poverty while the nobility conduct their games of courtly intrigue in opulence.

Quickly adapting to life as a warrior, Korgan rose in the ranks, soon being accepted into Baranzibar's elite Ironclads - the finest warriors of Clan Azaghal. Serving valiantly and defending the stronghold against the creatures of the depths, Korgan became a respected warrior, on par with his father Gorek: the Captain of the Guard. On his 44th birthday, a horde of degenerate creatures rose from the deep caverns of the Durnhold mountains and fell upon the garrison that defended Baranzibar. As Gorek led the defence, Korgan (who was in the city itself) gathered what forces he could find and rallied to reinforce his father. He arrived too late - although the reinforcements drove the abominations back into the darkness, Korgan found his father grievously wounded, with his axe, Snaga, buried in the chest of an ogre-like creature and surrounded by heaps of foul creatures. With his last traces of strenght, Gorek pulled Snaga from the chest of the creature and handed it to his son, dying wihout speaking a single word.

Korgan departed Baranzibar soon after, his perceived personal shame too great for him to bear. For the past year, he has wandered the surface world, for what, he is not sure, but Korgan seeks something to bring back to Baranzibar, something to bring him absolution.

Yip that's fine, I need to get some things sorted before starting this properly. But if we start slightly before your back, I'll keep it from going into the big parts before you can join.

What do you think? Does it need editing? I am sceptical about the history...

Name: Eiravel Cyredrahel
Race: Elf.
Class: Fighter
Age: 120
Appearance: A tall and thick Elf warrior, he weighs in about 185 pounds of long knotted muscles. His Jet black hair is shaved bald which highlights the scar above his right eye. He wears a black and gold elven armor, although thick and sturdy, is light weight and allows for high maneuverability. Has Black Stoic Eyes.

Weapons: A Slender and sturdy Elven Saber, and in his off hand a 21 inch long Elven Dirk.

Personality: Eiravel Cyredrahel is a stoic and serious Elven warrior. He is not a fan of Dwarven warriors finding them brutish and crude, and favors his more agile and graceful saber work. He is not one for "play" and tends to be oriented on the mission. He is a soldier born and bred.

Bio/History: Eiravel Cyredrahel is the third son of the Cyredrahel family, a family who has dedicated itself to the service of the king for generations. The Cyredrahel are a proud family of warriors who perfected the style of saber and dirk fighting. Often riding into battle on there trade mark black and red steeds, they are a sight of Moral and hope among the Elven swordsmen. For as long as the royal family has been around they have had a Cyredrahel General and royal body guard. The family is distinguished by the Black and Gold armor they wear and by there nearly bred stoicism.

Eiravel grew up in the tradition that all males in his family did, under the sword. At the young age of ten his training began in the art of the Saber and horseback riding. Being more inclined to the unmounted combat, Eiravel started his first skirmish on his feet with the foot soldiers. He preformed valiantly in his first fight and was moved up to the Royal body guard at the age of 40. Eiravel grew into an excellent swordsman and was a shining example of his family's skill and honor. That all changed when he first fought beside the Dwarves. In the heat of battle a Platoon of Altrin where able to flank where he was fighting next to his brothers and father. Eiravel was the only one that was able to survive long enough for the Dwarven back up to arrive. Forever blaming the Dwarves bruttish and sloppy fight style for the tragedy that has befallen his family, Eiravel is openly racist against the tiny breed and carries that hatred into almost every aspect of his life.

"I would rather have fallen nobly with my family than been saved by that collection of dirty little cur. To think they had the gall to claim victor after letting the enemy slip through there ranks. Treacherous dogs" he was heard saying as Elven medics looked over his wounds. The scar over his right eye is a permanent mark of his hatred of Dwarves.

I changed my mind. I don't need more distractions, as I have things to do. Maybe another time.

Mookie_Magnus:
Hell.. I might as well join. Just one question, how long do Oktra live, and how tall are they, on average?

Roughly 250-300 years, due to magic imbuing. But some magic can reduce their life by a few decades or so, if you want to be able to use forbidden magic. Which I'll explain if you wish.

RareDevil:
-snip-[sorry its choppy and sloppy. I smooth it out later.]

Just give me a shout when you have it smoothed out enough for you and I'll put it up.

Oh. I messed up. Can you change my weapon from a dagger to a dirk? Because a dirk has a thinner more slender blade (like a naval dirk not a scottish one. . .)

You do realize that makes you an old elf? That's 8 centuries of like and the common life span is five. And 2500 is two millennia plus five centuries. That is ancient.

You might want to revise dates.

Good apart from what Rare said, the oldest elf in this world was 1000 D:, I don't mind you being 834, but could you reduce your fathers age a bit ? Other than that it's cool :)

Hell yeah! If you have ever read the Dark Elf Trilogy (or any of the other RA salvotore Drizzt based books) then this odd "halfling" reminds me of a certain Hobbit.
