the last song...meh i enjoy it but not my favorite 8/10

That song is decent, not much of a fan of the genre tbh with you, but I respect it for what it is, giving it a 7/10.

-Edit-

Since someone did post above me, I'll rate that one, It's good, until whatever it is that's 'singing' starts. Kinda gets irritating after that... 6/10. cuz the beats are pretty decent to start.

Here are 2 videos, I want you guys to check out the Piano version of it because it is truly amazing, The first video is the Original for the people not familiar with Tiesto and "Adagio for Strings" so you have something to compare.

xxcloud417xx:

I'll give it a 7/10 for amazing musicianship, although it doesn't really interest me; it's all over a bit too quickly.
Here's mine, it's the version they recorded for XM Radio rather than the album version, cause this one has the amazing Gavin Harrison's drumming talents on:

Not really in the mood for Porcupine Tree at the moment, but in general they're damn good as far as I'm concerned. 8/10.

Let's make this interesting, see if I can find any other hip-hop fans on The Escapist:

WHOA I like the lyrics and beat are awesome

I don't think it would be fair for me to rate a grunge song, 'cause I've never been a fan of the genera. erm... 5/10 I guess

as for the one above that one, hmm... 6/10, not a big rap person, but I do kind of like the beat they have going in this.

This is the best song I've ever heard...

If anyone rates this below a ten I will be sorely disappointed.

7/10. The first four minutes or so were pretty damn awesome, but the rest of the song was kinda generic dance music to me.

Meh, it was okay, but that kind of music is just not my style. I'll give it a 6/10.

EDIT: Changed my Original Song to something better.

7/10 Beach boys yes this song...meh it's ok but not my favourite

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMHEc8SWUdM

4/10 Eh, not really my thing...

3/10 The mash up just didn't work very well
http://youtu.be/QXt723fN1ss

5/10 Neutral about it really

4,5/10 Not bad a bad song, well written and played, but I didn't care for the chorus, so it brought it down quite alot.

A fan film, but the sound quality is good enough.

Love it. 9/10.

@Gmans Uncle: The king of electronic music will always be Vangelis IMO.

7/10...yes...no I dont know weird, think i would have to be in a particular mood to say ye lets play that.

Shut Your Mouth... 7/10 for strange humor and a consistent aesthetic. Not great, a little simple, but the tune is catchy and the vocals were performed well enough.

Oh look. I am a ninja. On this thread, this is not a good thing. :/

Informal Gluttony: I'll give it 7.5/10. I liked most of the parts and changes between them, especially the build up in the beginning and the simple melody, which I think was Phrygian, and I like that mode. There was some more technical breaks, but they I think they generally didn't sound dragged out like some jazz fusion does (to me at least). I liked the slight mudiness to the production too, and they didn't ladel on the treble. The vocals were a bit of a let down for me though. I think the clean melodies were a bit dull due to the narrow range and I don't think the singer has the articulation to really pull off great screaming (Angela Gossow is an example of a screamer who's delivery I really like).

Here's mine:

Between the Buried and Me
4/10. I probably would have thought this was cool when I was eleven, but at 34; its just a little worn and tiresome.

I don't know why I like this song, its not something I'd normally like, but I think it deserves some attention.

(I don't know how to embed properly, is there a guide anywhere for this?)

Get rid of everything left side of the equal sign; all this stuff goes: 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v'

Now you do '[''youtube''=E695_KNNNNk'']' only all without the apostrophies.

I'd give it 5/10. Just felt really unoriginal. Acoustic 'ballads' like this have lost their track with me. If I wanted to listen to one I'd just listen to Death Cab.

great mid-90's post-hardcore punk.

I dunno. I'd rate the Black River Killer song about 7-8/10, whereas that punk one would only get a 3-4/10 for me. But then, punk is not me, not at all.

In fact, let's revive that old and annoying war for a sec.

ooooohhhhhh you just don't understand the kids, you're too busy dressing up in wizard outfits!
Ha, I actually love punk and prog, but they are true enemies I guess.

I never really understood the idea of a war between genres, myself (the Britpop vs Grunge thing also mystifies me), but it seemed appropriate for the situation.

godevit:
cheers prog music.

Since this was the lowest post that had a song in it, I'll rate this one. ...I don't really like how quiet it all is. Probably a 6.5/10.

Without having to even listen to that song, I would have to give that a 9. Its a shame Madonna was allowed to murder it.

Anyway,

One of his most devisive songs, but I like it.

meh. not that great. I give it a 6.

anyway, MORE DON MCLEAN!!!

10/10 Don is always a ten from me.

Eh, 6/10 for the acrobatics.

7/10. I liked the guitar riff, but the voice I do not like.

6/10 It was alright... I'm sure someone who plays the guitar would be able to appreciate it more than me.

7/10. Once again, I liked the riff, but the vocals didn't do it for me.
