Alex sighs.
"Oh well, she has probably just gone off to kill some more people and feed her unquenchable thirst."

Several hours pass without any sign of Mel.

Jenna stands up

"That's it... it's been Five hours, I'm going to go look for Mel"

Alex doesn't move.
"Go on then. Don't expect me to help."

Jenna looks at him, suprised and angry

"Why not!?"

As she yells at Alex, something moves in the shadows.

"You think I would help one of those bloodsuckers. Never."

Jenna remains Oblivious to the Movement, she fixes her attention on Alex

"And she wants to get rid of that part of her. think of it like this it's our duty to elminate all vampiers, and we are now on the road to do that, but we need her help, do you know what do do? because I don't!"

"You don't have to do anything..." Mel's voice comes weakly out of the shadow beneath a tree.

Alex shakes his head.
"But she hasn't got rid of that part of her, you cant trust them, you think that she will care who you are if she gets hungry while you are asleep?"

Jenna hears Mel's voice, she quickly adresses Alex

"Shut up"

she walks over to the voice, unguarded because of her fight with Alex

Mel is groaning, the smell of blood strong on her.

Jenna kneels down to Mel

"Oh my god... are you okay?"

"Jenna? Good, I'd hate for Alex to catch me helpless." She coughs softly. "Be careful...there's someone on the inside. They know you're coming."

Jenna looks at her

"Knows we're coming? what about you?"

"They were waiting for me...too many of them...this is no ordinary base..." She tries to get up, but slumps against the tree.

Jenna grabbs her shoulders

"We need to take a look at you, and wait for the others to arrive..."

"Don't bother taking a look at me. I can tell you my injuries. I have a broken leg, broken nose, and a pistol shot through a lung."

Jenna looks around she somberly meets Mel's eyes

"Then they are likely heading this way, I'm the only one in any condition to fight... what are we going to do?"

"Don't worry. I set a trap for them of my own. After that goes off, just wait for the others." She coughs again, blood spattering onto Jenna.

Jenna wipes away a little of the blood, more concerned than before

"You need to rest, we still need you here"

"No you don't. Why would you need a 'bloodsucker' who won't 'care who you are if she gets hungry while you're sleeping'? Besides, my husband should be here shortly."

"The only one that is in any condition to fight? I don't think I am unfit." Tsurugi steps out of the shadows his cloak causing him to blend in. His long sword is in his hand and he glances around warily.

Jenna shakes her head

"You're the only one person here that knows how to get to the cure... And I belive that you may be able to help me with my own mission"

Mel smiles. "Glad I'm not totally despised."

"Screw Alex, you have earned my trust. Well enough of it. What exactly are we waiting for? The others?"

Jenna nodds

"Yeah, Alex is just a jerk with a chip on his shoulder"

She looks at Tsurugi and nods.

Alucard jogs up and sees the people huddled around Mel.He walks over and lets out an angry growl as he sees Mel.
"Mel you know what you need to do."

"I won't feed from you, love..."

"Yeah and you think you can keep fighting with injures like that? Just do it and quite being stubborn."

Mel reluctantly bites into his wrist and drinks his blood.

"I didn't think it would take this long to catch up wi- Ugh!" Orin says, wandering onto the scene and seeing Mel at Alucard's wrist. "Well, looks that you've already managed to get yourself hurt. Are any guards onto us?"

Mel looks up, wiping blood from her mouth. "All of them! Someone set us up!"

"Do you think someone's captured Hailey?" Orin asks, not particularly relaxed.
