Personally, I'd say that you shouldn't be able to see who's in the Warzone from your base area. What it really makes is for people of higher levels to sit there and refresh the page in a safe zone, waiting for people of a lower level to wander in. This way, you walk into the Warzone unable to see if it's full of people higher or lower than you.
Just thought the Escapist should know, there is no advantage, let alone balance, to defending, so there is no reason that anyone who wants to win their battles would enter the warzone and wait for a challenger. Thus, your warzone will seem empty of opponents and the game will appear dead ... and for all intents and purposes it will be, especially for those who do decide to sit in the warzone and get either ganked or forced to run by much higher ranked opponents.
Well, was fun for a bit there with everyone trying things out, experimenting and exploring, but I am just going to have to ignore this until there are actually other people to play with who don't hit F5 looking for an easy mark.
Sevre90210: One bug I'm having with it is the fact that whenever I enter a battle, when I'm trying to issue orders, the character icons are unable to move. My cursor turns into the dreaded unable to move cursor.

You need to modify the victory conditions.
It's not just a game of killing the most troops, but also of strategy. Attacking and fielding the right units is all part of the game. However a victory can be quite picric if you don't get enough money to counter balance your loss in troops, I think that you can call it a moral (and financial) victory if you come out with more money than you lost in troops. I think that the battle result was a fair one; he had a better strategy in the end. Perhaps you should change your strategy to combat players like this. (Like dropping any bait units you have- cannon fodder doesn't work in this game.)
The_root_of_all_evil: Both me and Higurashi have armies on the field at the moment (and probably a lot of others) but we can't see each other, even after refreshes.
yeah, i cant see you either. might jsut send you a manual challenge
When you get notice that someone is attacking you I'd like the option to surrender there and then. it'd save the time of people who are getting picked on by those waaaaaaaaay stronger then themselves and it would avoid incidents like the one i just experienced.
I was challenged by a guy and then had to wait basically 10 mins to play a round because he wouldn't finalize his attack - meaning i was stuck waiting on a guy who wasn't doing anything.
Agreed: the same thing keeps happening to me with the high-level players: they jump the weaklings. I would ask you guys to implement some sort of restrictions (low levels could attack high levels, but not vice versa) on this. The only thing you can do right now is get wiped out or retreat, which I despise. The distinct lack of honor on the part of some individuals is destroying the game, which is a pity, cause while I fought players in the same skill set as me, it was fun.
yeah, eventually getting sick of only hugely overpowered guys challenging me (almost everyone I challenge retreats regardless of level) I took on a red. went from a 100k+army to just under 50k, and those early thousands aren't all that easy to make.
Yep, I get challenged by 500k+-guys. But then again when I had about 150k it showed me a green one with 450k... that's three times my points. So when I get the chance, I rather challenge someone with 100k than someone with 400k+... haven't figured out a way to beat those high ranks yet ^^
Yeah, this is an excellent game, but there's one issue I have with it.
Here I am with this guy called 'SmoothNRK' challenging me, and I've been sitting here for half an hour waiting for him to enter. It's getting really annoying now, and if there is an option to surrender straight off the bat then that would be great.
He's still there, and I'm still waiting. Is there a limit to how long he can take over there, or do I have to wait until he switches his computer off?
EDIT: After all that, the battle never even happened. He just left. Not happy.
Maybe you should give us numbers how "Deplorable" differs from "weak" or "average" and so on. Because I think that 50 Weak units are going to defeat 20-25 Average units.
So wait, it's better to just buy twice as much guys instead of half the stronger people? Even if those stronger cost twice as much?

So you're saying everyone should exploit the game and opt for only one army, thereby removing all actual strategy? Sounds way better than just fixing the issue.

It's not so much a bug, but comments to improve the game;
#1: If a side has a "Size 0" stack, then they either A) cannot fight, or B) their opponent gets a bonus (ie: counts as destroying the stack). This encourages people to spread their strength, not just spam a single uber-unit.
#2: Attacks should occur simultaneously. I don't know if they do or not, but it seems to me like the Attacker resolves first, thus giving an advantage to attackers. If it's simultaneous, then it's more about planning and strategy than zerg-rushing.
SODAssault: The pop-ups that rear their heads every time you refresh at the Warzone have certainly worn out their welcome in my home...
I have this on my to-do wish list for setting a flag to remove the popup.
skorpion352: its annoyign having to wait for my opponent to decide what they will do before being able to accept or decline the challange. it is possible for that to be changed?
You are wanting the ability to retreat before hand, or the ability to do your orders while they are doing their orders?

Actually higher armies can no longer see the lower armies in the warzone.

Looking into putting in a better refresh of the warzone for people sitting and defending.

I'm going to back Internet Kraken on this one. I could post a similar link (with roles reversed) but the point remains the same...
I finished a battle and was declared the "Winner". Yet my opponent was awarded more money than me and I had less cash at the end of the battle than I did at the beginning. Kinda sounds like I lost.

I've noticed this as well.
Also, there seems to be an issue with the 'Resilient' badge; I've won 10 battles in a row now and I haven't recieved it. I've also noticed that many others people don't have the badge either, even when they have pretty much all the other ones.

You have to win two games in a row without leaving the Warzone - no going to replenish your troops!
Recently I have been attacked by a few players who have no chance of beating me and just end up retreating immediately. It's just wasting my time.

You can't see players who have an army that is much weaker than yours now, so if your armies are vastly different then this will be the case. (I was wondering where everyone had gone for a while).

Problem is that me and Higs have very similar strength armies (18K vs 16K)

had a fight where both armies done no damage to both sides and somehow I lost the battle which was pretty funny but a total 1 off sure my opponent was ben7. who later destroyed me BTW.

How the hell did he have a better strategy?
He had one unit type in the game. That's a huge disadvantage. He suffered because of it in the game. However because he killed my weakest unit he won, despite the fact that I nearly killed his strongest unit which was much more valuable.
If I had attacked his Battle Bot in the last slot then I would have won but I chose not to because my Xenoform Overlords could have killed the Battle Bots by then (only 1 remained).
This is more of an oddity that I can't really understand. How is it decided how much money one receives from a battle? I won three in a row, but made such little money that I couldn't even replenish my army. The people who lost made much, much more than I did. I've had to downgrade because of that, and now my army is pretty dismal. So why is it that when I win the match, I lose a great deal of money? It doesn't really make sense.
I've got a bug that has happened twice, Under certain formations of armies the command screen doesn't load anything and I can't play genre wars at all.
GenHellspawn: Right now, I can't play at all because the game glitches when I try to engage in combat with anybody. I made sure Javascript was on, and I've tried refreshing and updating the browser, all to no avail. Any help?
What browser are you using? Do you have any adblocking software that might prevent the JavaScript from working?
