Whenever I used to battle (Don't do it much anymore) I would actually keep that open, so I could check my attacks before battle. Also allows you to see whom they may attack.

Also, don't do what people do often and use a small army made up of powerful troops. That almost never works (I know out of personal experience). Start with the ones you're given and build them up over time before upgrading to the next ones.

Use more units. Weight of numbers is the key.

Admittedly I get my ass kicked by the bots about 9/10 of the time no matter what I do.

I always did better against human players.

I'm assuming you have the basic cash: Try using the units given to you at the start and build them up number-wise whenever you win. Don't go for the stronger ones until you have more cash as you will only get a few of them (and numbers matter).

Edit: Double Ninja'd, damn.

Do not use only a few strong troops for your entire army, and never use just one or two spots because you take more damage that way. Start with deplorables and weak then average and weak then strong and average, mighty strong, epic mighty strong. Solid team.

That's all well and good, but how do you get to the stage where you can afford 150 dragons?

If you need to build up cash, remember that some bots (the ones with names: Carrie, Todd the T1000, etc.), will ALWAYS use the same strategy to match your army. Keep your army exactly the same, and attack the same bot until you have enough money to experiment with new army builds.

Also, the bot will always attack with its most expensive unit three times on the same target, then its second most expensive unit on a different target. If the unit is "good against" two of your units, it will attack the cheapest one. If you can eliminate the bot's second most expensive unit before it has a chance to attack, the bot will only get three attacks off.

You can (almost always) predict the bot's attack pattern in this way. You may thereby determine which of your three units will not be attacked, and which will only be attacked in the 4th and 5th rounds. If the latter is strong against the bot's second-strongest unit, you can attempt to eliminate the second-strongest unit in the first 3 rounds of combat. If this is not the case, attack with the unit that will not be attacked in match, targeting either the enemy unit that will attack in the 4th and 5th rounds, or the enemy's weakest unit.

It is always better to entirely eliminate one of the enemy's weak units than partially eliminate two of their strongest, especially if you can also keep them from eliminating any of your units. Doing so will grant you a "Decisive Victory", which is accompanied by a cash bonus.

It is important to note that this is the strategy I used; it worked almost all of the time, but if I forgot to mention something and you are losing, please try something different. This strategy has been tested with Ninjas and Aliens, though other users probably use it as well. Others strategies, such as the 150 Water Dragon strategy (which I can now afford), are also legitimate, and I may post about them at a later date. The general advice given by previous posters applies, especially the note about keeping your troops inexpensive and their numbers high, which will increase their survivability.

As always, good luck.

Not quite optimal. Never attack with the first unit of dragons, except in the first round, where their losses don't count yet. They will be the only ones attacked in the battle. Always attack with the second and third units, so you are always attacking with 50 dragons.

I think I might try this because every time I've played I've been destroyed. I've not won once.

Outnumbering your enemy dosn't necessarely means victory. To win, you have to attack the right units, and keep on attacking them. A victory is when you killed at least en entire unit of the enemy, or, if it's equal, both have 1 unit killed, or no units killed, it's the amount of money from kiled units that will decide who win. Make sure you visit the "How To Play" section and read there. Some units are strong, of equal strength or weak against other types of units. When you attack someone, make sure you attack with a unit that is strong against the enemys unit.

Also, the key for victory is large numbers, the 3 factions 20 deplorable units are stronger than 3-4 epic units. Do not be scared to use deplorable units, move on to stronger units when you have enough money to make the move.
