RPG, cause it's more fun to be someone else!

i like playing FPS with an RPG.

nah, kidding, i like either platformers or a medieval/fantasy RPG. platformers are mostly only flash games, or 2D atari games, which i think makes them less known nowadays.

RPGs that are good usually cost 8-15 dollars. maplestory's free and good, as i say quite a bit, but bleh, who cares.

My favorite genre is Co-operative! I believe that should be a genre- but from this poll I choose First Person Shooter.

Um... Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid. Don't know where they fit on your list... so I'm going to call it 3rd Person Awesomeness (3PA).

Definitely Role Playing.

RPGs like Oblivion and Fallout 3 are just amazing to me.

Gold: RTS
Silver: RPG
Bronze: FPS

Now, if only there was a way to effectively combine these three. It would truly be the best game "evar!".

MGS would be adventure (note: pigeon holing and forcing it one of the categories otherwise it is a interactive movie). And DMC is TPS (third-person shooter)

RPG's because of the storyline and, in second choice, FPSs for their immersion. But I don't stick to one genre, I like 'em all :)

3D Platformers and action-adventure games are my favorites. Too bad there's not many around anymore.

FPS for chilling out and RPG for story. Any game that focuses on story rather then a new gimick like Bioshock, and Fallout gets my intrest (I'm aware of VATS and plasmids, but I'm ignoring those as gimicks).

I vote for, RPG & FPS & RTS.

There is no way I could choose any one over the other.

RPGs win this for me. i enjoy adopting different persona, and they let me do just that. also they are often intellectual games, with elements of strategy that require intelligence to play. pokemon and final fantasy are key examples of this.

second on the list is real time strategy. i have always had a soft spot for those games. the most frequently played one is chess, but i also play age of mythology, and mastermind just for fun.

i should probably note though that i'm not enjoying final fantasy: renevant wings, which i should logically like since it is the closest i have seen to a combination of the 2 genres. maybe it's just the fact that i haven't played the previous games, and find all the characters rather idiotic.

I love a good RPG, and chances are I'll even have fun with a mediocre or bad one.

That's my favorite genre that's on the list, though. My true favorite is the side-scrolling brawler of yesteryear.

I am all sorts of delighted that my favourite genre, RPG's, is currently in the lead in the polls.

Though, I have to say, though no genre will ever take the #1 spot away from RPG's in my heart, there'll always be a special spot for platformers. After all, where would be be without the awesome oldskool pwnage that is Mario?

Plus, Little Big Planet kicks arse, so definite props to platformers. :D

Couldn't have said it any better myself.
Sums up my thoughts on the subject perfectly.

RPG, simply because I always get more mileage out of them than other genres. It took me more than 50 hours to beat FF12, and I'm still not done with the sidequests.

Realistic shooters of any kind, and rpgs like oblivion are fun, as long as they have a lot of variety and choice of what to do, so you can be immersed in the world.
