RPGs that are good usually cost 8-15 dollars. maplestory's free and good, as i say quite a bit, but bleh, who cares. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1034 Joined: 20 Oct 2008 | Gold: RTS Now, if only there was a way to effectively combine these three. It would truly be the best game "evar!".
MGS would be adventure (note: pigeon holing and forcing it one of the categories otherwise it is a interactive movie). And DMC is TPS (third-person shooter) |

Anonymous Source Posts: 9 Joined: 17 Aug 2009 | RPG's because of the storyline and, in second choice, FPSs for their immersion. But I don't stick to one genre, I like 'em all :) |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 797 Joined: 8 May 2009 | 3D Platformers and action-adventure games are my favorites. Too bad there's not many around anymore. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 82 Joined: 25 Jun 2009 | what does over the shoulder shooter count as? anyway out of the above i'm gonna say FPS because the usually immersive and fun to play |
Muckraker Posts: 251 Joined: 14 Aug 2009 | FPS for chilling out and RPG for story. Any game that focuses on story rather then a new gimick like Bioshock, and Fallout gets my intrest (I'm aware of VATS and plasmids, but I'm ignoring those as gimicks). |

Beat Writer Posts: 212 Joined: 17 Apr 2009 | I vote for, RPG & FPS & RTS. There is no way I could choose any one over the other. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4084 Joined: 23 Dec 2008 | RPGs win this for me. i enjoy adopting different persona, and they let me do just that. also they are often intellectual games, with elements of strategy that require intelligence to play. pokemon and final fantasy are key examples of this. second on the list is real time strategy. i have always had a soft spot for those games. the most frequently played one is chess, but i also play age of mythology, and mastermind just for fun. i should probably note though that i'm not enjoying final fantasy: renevant wings, which i should logically like since it is the closest i have seen to a combination of the 2 genres. maybe it's just the fact that i haven't played the previous games, and find all the characters rather idiotic. |

Beat Writer Posts: 151 Joined: 9 Apr 2009 | I love a good RPG, and chances are I'll even have fun with a mediocre or bad one. That's my favorite genre that's on the list, though. My true favorite is the side-scrolling brawler of yesteryear. |

Couldn't have said it any better myself. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2483 Joined: 12 Jul 2008 | RPG, simply because I always get more mileage out of them than other genres. It took me more than 50 hours to beat FF12, and I'm still not done with the sidequests. |
