How to beat Genre Wars!!!

It's quite easy actually, when you think about it, you just use all your money and build one unit type to 50 of that unit type, that way they probably only have one stength against your unit and you will most definently have strengths over them, also get a unit with good defense.

that's...interesting.

Are we talking theory here, or actual real world practice.

I haven't yet played the game, and can't comment on the validity, or lack thereof, in that strategy - but I place far more faith in real world experience, than I do in untested theories.

hmmm i'm not sure that it might work since you would attack... 5 times (same as normal) but with 1 unit type only, and even if you attack only one of the three enemy units you would be attacked by two other units at full strength... so i'm not so sure that would work.

It's a game, part of the fun comes from the various different ways to beat it - and finding them.
There can be no one pre-determined defined strategy otherwise the fun is all but ruined.

I'm terrible at this, so...it might be worth a shot.

I will try this, whenever I start playing this game. Are all the genres created equal

i think so, they just are good at different things...maybe? idk...

So close; but narrowing down to 1 army type is unwise. Firstly, it is easy to wipe out one stack, and second you are strong against 2 of 5 enemies. What I am doing however if using TWO armies instead.

Not just any two; but a carefully calibrated two; They do not have the same strength as each other. Guaranteed if the opponent has different types they will have something I'm strong against, while my units are slightly stronger compared to my overall army value.

I'm really bad at Genre Wars. I don't know why.

I lose all the time in Genre wars. I haven't won a battle yet. The easy ai always wins

I play normally with 50 of each of the strongest 3 types in the robot army.

I have the "Majestic" badge. (50 wins without the loss of an army)

Is this Valid?

like will it work? and has it been tested

I don't know about this. It might work, but I've found in practice the most effective strategy is a large stack of a relatively weak unit, combined with a group of really strong units.

I did work out, based on the mechanics that while using strong units wins me more than using weaker ones.

(with starting funds you can get about seven Ninja masters compared to more than 50 of the weakest unit types.)

Still, basic math tells me that no stack should ever have less than 10 units, and I've found this to be true.

I think however, my particular strategy only works the way it does because the AI always tries to pick on the 'weak' unit.

An army with only one unit has less strengths, but also less weaknesses.

It'll do really well if your opponent doesn't have an advantage to that unit type, and really badly if you don't have an advantage over any of your opponent's unit types.

You mean zerg-rushing? Not that helpful.

well having good defence and low amount of weak points is always good. however it also limits your offensive capabilities to a great deal, thus this is still a hit or miss tactic.

I have played for about 30 minutes now, defence defence defence seems the way to go.

That's what I did. I grew tired of the game after a while.

Thanks for this! It was most helpful!
