Millions died in those camps (not just Jews, but people of Gypsy, African, and Asian decent, people with physical and metal challenges, or belonging to a non-christian religion,
You forgot all the catholics and jehovah's witnesses, you anti-Christian bastard. =P
. Jehovah's witnesses were killed in the camps, they even had their very own insignia (Like the yellow start of David for the Jews). Catholics... no.
Uh, yes, actually. 3000 members of the Polish Clergy, just for starters. 2600 Catholic priests from 24 countries were killed in Dachau, 80% of the clergy of Warthegau including five bishops were massacred...

. The clergy were leaders that answered the pope, but as much as I can tell they didn't kill Catholics because they were Catholics. You didn't have them killing German Catholics in the streets. That's what I meant.
PrinceOfShapeir: Uh, yes, actually. 3000 members of the Polish Clergy, just for starters. 2600 Catholic priests from 24 countries were killed in Dachau, 80% of the clergy of Warthegau including five bishops were massacred...
World War II also killed a lot of cattle, but drawing from that the conclusion that both the Germans and the allies hate cows would still be incorrect.
The Vatican had formally recognized the nazis as rightfull rulers and supported them, in return for authority over matters of faith. Any priest happening to find themselves in a concentration camp will have been put there either for racial reasons, or for supporting resistance. Why would the nazis persecute loyal catholic clerics who openly support their rule/occupation?
Why would the Nazis round up 2000 Jehovah's Witnesses? What, did Hitler have them knock on his door one too many times? I don't pretend to understand the logic of their behavior, but slaughtering 80% of the clergy in a region seems a bit, I dunno, deliberate.
PrinceOfShapeir: Why would the Nazis round up 2000 Jehovah's Witnesses?
Because they defy Christianity, and on top of that are a cult whose members are loyal to the cult first and everything else second, making their group a political threat to a regime that insisted on both political and religious purity.
For the same reason the Soviets persecuted some clerics right up untill the orthodox church had learned that they had no political power, and after that, they were the best of friends again. Although obviously in the case of the nazis, religious purity was an additional motive not present in the soviet union.
I have lived in countries with hate speech laws, and I actually quite like them as a concept, but I'm having difficulty seeing what's offensive here. The first joke was a jab at some crazy site, not Jews (and I myself are mildly offended that you only chose to stand up for the rights of Jews and not lizard people, you bigot), and as for Hitler, it's estimated by the BBS (Bureau of Bullshit Statistics) that the world would lose up to 75% of its joke reserves if we started removing jokes about Hitler.

Wow, someone is a turd (not you, I hope). Someone removed that info from the "holocaust" wikipedia page and forced me to go to the "holocaust victims" wikipedia page.
Killed Jehovah's witnesses during the holocaust- 2000 Killed Catholic Clergy in only Poland- 2000 Rough estimate of killed Catholic's by Nazi's during Holocaust- 3 million
Admittedly, it was only the clergy that was targetted specifically for their faith. The lay people we're killed mostly because they were Polish and/or fighting back. But even if we only include Catholic clergy, just as many Catholics were dragged away to concentration camps for their religion as Jehovah's witnesses.
I really can't believe someone removed the persecution of Catholic priests from the Holocaust page.

. The clergy were loyal to the Pope, which was a natural enemy to Hitler. He has divine authority, seemingly bigger than his, which pissed him off. The catholic priests overall listened to the Pope with the Protestant clergymen didn't have many qualms in submitting to the Nazis and their policies, though there were those that rallied their congregation and resisted. The Catholic clergy were organized - they could have set the countryside on fire and rally their congregations against the Heretical Nazis, claiming that they seek the destruction of the Vatican and the seat of god on earth, yadda yadda yadda. NOBODY has more authority that the Fuhrer and each of his subjects will only have ONE king, and that the Fuhrer.

You were saying a minute ago that the Catholics weren't persecuted at all.
Now I can understand joking, but sometimes the line you cross to tell a joke is too far. And I know that Jim likes to go to far to get a rise out of people, but this was just too much. My grandfather was smuggled out of Poland to the US while the rest of his family were carted off to death-camps in the late 30s. Millions died in those camps (not just Jews, but people of Gypsy, African, and Asian decent, people with physical and metal challenges, or belonging to a non-christian religion, pretty much anyone who the Third Reich either viewed as a threat to Aryan supremacy or viewed as unfit to live in German society).
And millions more died trying to end the threat the Nazi's posed.
Making light of any of the above would give people very strong backing should they level a lawsuit against this site and its owners, Themis Media, since they would be held accountable to Hate Speech laws on the books in the US.
He was clearly making fun of anti-Semites, so I'm not sure what your beef is? Unless you're like "This is so serious we can't even make fun of anti-Semites!" or something, which is my maybe guess by your giving your back story there.
But realistically, anything can prove to tweak anybody off. He could had been like 'Lol, sandwiches' and somebody would pop out and be like "My dad choked on a sandwich and died, you asshole, never forget!".
But yeah. I guess, complain if they were making fun of actual Jewish people and not making fun of crazy conspiracy theories.
dyre: I take it you're one of those easily offended types?
I have no idea why Andy Chalk called the Queen a Jewish lizard woman though. That's just kinda weird.
Well there's that conspiracy theory that the Royal Family and very important political figure worldwide are secrelty lizard-people seeking to enslave humanity. As for the Jewish part, there are a staggering amount of conspiracy theories that involve the Jews somehow being this monolithic entity all working towards th same goal.
So basically it's pointing out how retarded many of these conspiracy theories actually are.
PrinceOfShapeir: Uh, yes, actually. 3000 members of the Polish Clergy, just for starters. 2600 Catholic priests from 24 countries were killed in Dachau, 80% of the clergy of Warthegau including five bishops were massacred...

Why would the nazis persecute loyal catholic clerics who openly support their rule/occupation?
Because the clerics were loyal to the Vatican, which was actively undermining the Nazi's position by smuggling Jews out of Europe, hiding the ones they couldn't get out inside the vatican titself, and in general being as much of a pain in the ass as they could get away with without Hitler deciding to risk the public backlash and just arrest the Pope (which he did threaten to do several times).
So to say the Vatican "supported" the Nazis as rightful rulers is just intelectually dishonest and letting your own feelings get in the way of fact.
PrinceOfShapeir: Why would the Nazis round up 2000 Jehovah's Witnesses? What, did Hitler have them knock on his door one too many times? I don't pretend to understand the logic of their behavior, but slaughtering 80% of the clergy in a region seems a bit, I dunno, deliberate.

You were saying a minute ago that the Catholics weren't persecuted at all.
. I protest. It was indeed what I had said, that Catholics were by large not persecuted. It was the clergy that was persecuted and they were killed because their loyalties lied with the pope. 2000 Catholic clergymen were killed... There were more Jehovah's witnesses that were killed and every single follower of that faith in the area was destroyed, not just their priests.
Shaoken: So to say the Vatican "supported" the Nazis as rightful rulers is just intelectually dishonest and letting your own feelings get in the way of fact.
Except it was the official church ruling that the nazis were the rightfull rulers, and after that, there's nothing that can undo that.
By the way, the catholic church never smuggled out Jews. They attempted to shelter formerly jewish catholics by giving them travel documents to go elsewhere, as the nazis didn't care about religious conversion of Jews. Then again, the pope even revoked visas (thus signing death warrants) for dozens of those catholics because he had the idea their conversion was insincere. That proves it was never about helping someone else for the catholic church.
Not only that, in addition to Germany, there were a lot of strictly catholic rulers, heck, even pawns of the Vatican, who persecuted Jews with the blessing of the pope. Josef Tizo, the catholic priest who run Slovakia during the war, sold Jews to nazi Germany.
Ditto for their neighbour Hungary, where all the various fascist movements were deeply Christian in their origin. Heck, one was even named the 'Arrow Cross Party' and had a Christian cross on a shield for a symbol.
The few dissenters who didn't like persecution and extermination of Jews can hardly be quoted as being significant in the light of so much anti-semitism.
Now I can understand joking, but sometimes the line you cross to tell a joke is too far. And I know that Jim likes to go to far to get a rise out of people, but this was just too much. The joke behind the 'Jewish Lizard-woman' is the conspiracy theory that a race of Lizardpeople secretly rule the Earth with all rulers, including the Queen, being one of them. If it's not Lizardpoeple, it's Jews. Just making fun about what is usually termed the Unified Conspiracy Theory.
And Jim Sterling referring to himself as Hitler is just Jim. If you can't make a joke about the serious stuff, then why joke at all? Really, you need a thicker skin.
Tyler Perry: The U.S. doesn't have hate speech laws. And with good reason.
As I understand it, yes we do. But they're only preventing you from saying "let's go beat up [group]", not making Hitler jokes. The right to Hitler jokes must be preserved
Actually, we do have Hate Speech Laws, but they only work when someone says "Let's go Beat Up [Group]" and then someone beats up said group. If they don't bother or don't fallow through, then no, they get into no trouble. That's why the New Black Panther Party is having no trouble saying "We're gonna start a Race War" (Or something along those lines), and no one there is arrested.
OT: I don't see any Antisemitism on this site, or I don't look hard enough. Regardless, Antisemitism is not an issue on this site.
To the OP: Yes, the editors are doing their jobs. They're trusting the audience to have the reading comprehension and internet skills required to follow an embedded hyperlink. Not everyone can, though, it seems.
As for Jim, we support our creators' rights to be offend, as we support our readers' rights to be offended. Humor is a a tricky thing. We have, in fact, edited Jim when we felt he crossed a line, but by and large, we like to give creators the freedom to express themselves in their own voices. Jim is certainly very edgy and he makes people uncomfortable quite frequently; some people like that about him, others find it vile. Both responses are equally valid.
Also, to everyone using "Jew" in place of "you," or making other similar puns...time to knock it off.
God, so many faded-out posters. Pyrate, reonhato, Russlin' Jimmies, Wolverine18. And that's just in the first 16 posts. Makes you realize how fast the cast of our little drama board changes sometimes...

I was pointed at it, and when I saw the accusation that we don't pay attention to content, I felt obliged to say something. We get the "So and so said X, and I don't like that, so clearly this site isn't doing its job!" comments a lot, and I like to disabuse people of the notion that part of our job is to sanitize opinions.

And every single one of those posters deserved it, I would say, since none of them could keep a calm, reasonable discussion.
..That being said: Time to let the topic die again.
You... didnt look into the link that was accompanying the phrase Jewish Lizard-woman, did you? He linked to a conspiracy theory site and video that (for some reason) is somewhat popular and says most the movers and shakers of the world are some kind of lizard creature things bent on destroying the world, or enslaving humans, or some other bullshit nonsense, and as is usual with history, they throw in the jew part cuase jews have traditionally always been a scapegoat of society, especiall when money is involved.
I didnt see jim's video so i cant comment, but from what I know of him he's usually just joking for shock comedy. I cant imagine anyone here is vehemently Anti-Semitic and means it (Other than maybe the atheists if you want to call that being anti semitic), and if tehy are, they're probably not well liked on the forums.
wait... may of 2012? wow, this really got dug up.
AlotFirst: So... shall we continue the conversation about the extraordinarily agressive "anti-semites" that inhabit these premises?
Also: dog rolling around on some kind of rock?
its a corgi (I believe, at least it looks like Ein and thats what he was), I think on a cookie. ButI could be wrong.
My favorite Hitler impersonation... John fucking Stewart. Nobody is making a statement equivalent to putting a laugh track on the movie Schindler List are they? It's stereotype humor, we as gamers make fun of ourselves all the time, making a jewish joke doesn't automatically make you antisemitic.
As far as Jim sterling I don't know the context nor do I care because I really dislike the dude. He does ridiculously unfunny things just to be controversial or edgy... no you have to be funny to fucking get away with that... back on topic. Hitler has been used in comedy for years sometimes in ways that could be construed as disrespectful to Jewish people however if there is no ill will in it then it's not antisemitic just very insensitive.
