Palestine is easily the lesser of the two evils, frankly the way Israelis treat Palestine is comparable to the evil Hitler did to the Jews and I personally find their hypocrisy baffling.

Actually the Palestine's are whiny shits who can't get over the fact they lost a war they and their buddies started.

So if your country was invaded, and you tried to defend it and lost, I guess you'd just be a whiny shit that can't get over the fact that you lost a war that you and your buddies 'started'?

They lost the war, and refused to stop fighting. Hence calling them "whiny shits" doesn't seem too out of place. The war was even an agressive war, they weren't defending their country, they attacked.

That depends what you define as 'their country'
For all practical purposes, Israel exists. It has a land mass, a population and a government. However its existence in itself breaches Jus Cogens principals of International Law, and the principal of uti possidetis; that a country cannot have land taken from it without it's consent. Palestine was a victim of this.
If you were to argue the practicality of Israel as a nation you could indeed say that Palestine attacked Israel. But from a moral perspective of the rules of International Law, it is not hard to see how from a Palestinian viewpoint, they were simply trying to take back their own country.
Oh no, brown people are killing each other again, let's all argue about it since we have zero connection to it whatsoever.
Isn't this just a political thing for anyone outside of the actual area anyway? Doesn't seem to be any different than those animals who wanted to chatter on about gun control first thing after that nutjob shot up that movie theater a little while ago.

Offtopic is probably a bad place for this. In general though, the defeated party has a general requirement to accept terms relevant to how badly they were beaten. Otherwise you have what happened here...silliness.
That's really all it is, and Palestine needs to accept that military might against Israel won't accomplish much.

regarding bold: If by requirement you mean they have to, because might is right, then yes, reality would dictate that this is the case.
But yes Israel has made it clear how they respond to force against them.
Kitsune Hunter: I was going to ignore this thread, but after reading a few of the comments, my hand has now been forced, I don't have a problem with Israel taking out members of Hamas, I have a problem with them targeting civilians, oh sorry I mean "collateral damage" as Israel puts it, Israelis are injured or killed by Hamas's primative rockets, Israel will just respond with an over the top air strike killing or injuring civilians, who cares if they're Hamas or not cause it seems that to Israelis, Palestinians are subhuman. I just want to make it clear, I am horrified at both sides' action, but by comparing the power of both sides and how much damage they do to the other side, I just think that Israel's response to it is over the top, uncalled for and is down right barbaric, I could go on, but I'll leave this video here as it clearly expands how I feel about the event and it also contains the IDF video showing the assassination. On a final note, if you could forget for a moment about Qumsan and all other members of Hamas and think of all regular Palestinian civilians who've suffered in these airstrikes, what do you think then? And if you still support Israel's actions then does that make you better than Hamas whenever they call for all Jews to be exterminated
. The man doesn't even know the history of the region. I like listening to him but in this case somebody is pulling his opinion in the direction of Palestinians. He's misleading his public. .
ArnRand: I guess I'll weigh into this debate by saying that I think both sides are basically wrong and shouldn't be killing each other. I always thought of israel as perhaps the worst agreessor, and it seems like they were the first to act in this mini war, but to be honest I don't know who's in the wrong. If anyone who's unbiased can give me an abridged version of israel palestine relations, that would be helpful in forming an opinion.
. Sure, what version would you like? Incredibly long, long or short? .
Xeorm: So, Israel is only allowed to kill as many Hamas members as Hamas kills Israelis? Maybe some multiplier, like 3:1 or so?
. A person made a very similar post and got the ban-hammer. .
Capcha summed it up for me: Zombie attack seriuosly, they never stopped fighting, so they cant be at it again. its was just a silence while the gun is reloading.
UPDATE12: A "pipe-bomb"(This is what the press is reporting so far) had been found in Jerusalem's tram system. The passengers in one of the trams saw the bomb, they evacuated and a bomb squad defused it. Luckily nobody was hurt. Hamas&friends are now officially trying to move terror attacks within Israel that aren't missiles.
UPDATE13: Egyptian group of ministers and the PM entering Gaza as I type this message. Visit will be four hours, in which IDF will refrain from fire if Hamas does. What will happen if the party is hurt? All hell WILL break loose.
You do know that the Hamas fires rockets from places like schools, gas stations, Factories, mosques(irony) and kindergartens to prevent Israel from firing back? Collateral damage is inevitable.
They use their own people as human shields, they will try anything to give Israel bad PR.
Although I do agree that no side is good and some actions were uncalled for.
OT: I really hope this won't come down to a war, it'd be a pretty nasty war if other Arab countries would join too.
(This is coming from a guy that lives in Southern Israel)

That really sucks. :/
It might turn into a war after all.
Edit - at the first sentence I meant where they're firing from, not where they hit us.
Allow me to repeat myself again and direct you to my comment again, do I support everything TYT says, no just because i watch it doesn't mean i agree with all of their views, here's an example, they say they are pro choice, I'm pro life, simple just because I agree with most of their views doesn't mean i agree with them all, you brought up Al Qaeda out of nowhere when i was focusing on TYT's coverage of the event and expressing how I feel about the situation, that is where your strawman comes in. Also you call it a mess as this is common in war, one side is attacked with some casulties and attacks the other side successfully, but at the cost of a few civilian lives, that is a mess, but what is going on in Gaza is not a mess, it's more like a massacre
A massacre? Really? This is far from being a massacre at all. Call me when the IDF starts carpet bombing the whole place to the ground. Let's not blow things out of proportion now shall we?
Hope that Israel doesn't smash Palestinian to bits. Though defense is a national priority and deaths on ether side are regrettable it would be completely foolhardy to suggest (as has been done throughout this thread) that the Israeli military practices anything close to sensitivity or care when responding to perceived threats. Chatter about Hamas human shields and positioning of gun placements simply does not add up when stacked against the black and white death toll statistics. Palestinian civilians get slaughtered every time something like this happens in comparison to relatively few Israeli deaths. Unless each and every terrorist is selotaping groups of 5 children to themselves with a woman worn as a helmet these numbers show a tendency towards gross overkill in Israel's military response tactics.
Also I find all this "defend our soil" chest thumping rather offensive when this all started over what was basically state sanctioned murder. Murder of a government official with strong ties to terrorism, yes, with big precision rockets...is still murder. Sorry but its just rather hard for the Israeli authorities to have the high ground when I don't know, capture may have been an option? Trial? Or maybe a NON rocket based method on Palestinian turf? A bit of tact? This is not how things in a civilized world are supposed to be done.
Hope this all quietens down soon but this could have all been avoided with some sense. I'm inclined to agree with some news pundits that the assassination was supposed to be a show of force intended to boost opinions for the upcoming election but has backfired resulting in a need for even greater force to remedy it. A total farce.
the people who are saying israel has the right to defend themselves need to remember that for this conflict israel attacked first in an attack that included "collateral damage"
the amount of pro israel propganda and cheering in this thread is sickening. israel has spent decades repressing the palestinians .
it seems people have forgotten what happened just 4 years ago when this last happened. the UN investigation condemned both sides but was highly critical of israel, israel was accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, deliberately targeting civilians, torturing detainees and using human shields. their report included 11 incidents of the IDF directly attacking and killing civilians, including an attack on a mosque that the israeli government denied and yet claimed those killed were hamas militants, an attack on a UN ran school that the israelis have acknowledged was not being used as a hamas site, an attack on a group of 5 men collecting firewood and the house they came from killing 21.
i already know iron ruler is going to pretend this stuff didnt happen and deny things like human shields and stuff, of course when israel soldiers use a 9 year old boy to open bags to check for bombs they are not using him as a shield, they are giving him a job (amazingly 2 soldiers were actually arrested over that one)
The IDF does not use human shields. The usage of phosphorous in cast lead was legal according to a UN report later months after everyone starting calling Israel a war criminal. The report said that there was no proof of DIME weapons used.
Oh hey, look, actual proof!
lets take a look at the report shall we-
"While the Mission is not in a position to state with certainty that so-called dense inert metal explosive (DIME) munitions were used by the Israeli armed forces, it did receive reports from Palestinian and foreign doctors who had operated in Gaza during the military operations of a high percentage of patients with injuries compatible with their impact."
so the report did not say there was no proof, it said they cannot say for certain but have several reports of injuries that could have come from DIME weapons.
"while accepting that white phosphorous is not at this stage proscribed under international law, finds that the Israeli armed forces were systematically reckless in determining its use in built-up areas. Moreover, doctors who treated patients with white phosphorous wounds spoke about the severity and sometimes untreatable nature of the burns caused by the substance. The Mission believes that serious consideration should be given to banning the use of white phosphorous in built-up areas. As to flechettes, the Mission notes that they are an area weapon incapable of discriminating between objectives after detonation. They are, therefore, particularly unsuitable for use in urban settings where there is reason to believe civilians may be present."
well at least you were right in saying the use was not against international law, they just said it was reckless and should be against the law.
figured i would add this part about human shields from the report, the denial of this from iron just shows the propganda bubble he is in, this is something that has been confirmed by israeli soldiers themselves.

the report if anyone can be bothered to read or even skim through it (its long). anyone who can look at that and still say israel are the good guys needs to get their head checked out.

Actually, I do not believe that Palestine ever was its own country. To my knowledge, they were a part of the Ottoman Empire, which was on the losing side in WW1. The League of Nations then handed over a large portion of the Middle East over to the British, who held it up to the end of WW2. Then it started to be split up into the countries you see today.
What's up, Escapist? Didn't get any sleep again. Boy, the boys over in Gaza sure know how to throw a party missile. But who can blame them? It's the closest thing to sex they are ever going to get. 45 seconds of excitement, a disappointing explosion, 20 minutes of recuperation and here we go again!
EDIT: All right, Escapist, which one of you is a HAMAS spy? The moment I hit "Post" there was another alert. I am not mad, just another chance to stare at my sexy neighbour's arse in the shelter.
Palestine is easily the lesser of the two evils, frankly the way Israelis treat Palestine is comparable to the evil Hitler did to the Jews and I personally find their hypocrisy baffling.
Ah yes, like how Hitler only assassinated enemy leaders in retaliation for the SLAUGHTER OF CIVILIANS by the Swiss and French. Yeah, I remember reading about that.

Israel? You can't possibly mean the Hebrew nation conquered by Rome, inhabited by refugees from Egypt, ruled by kings David, Solomon, etc. I'm trying to remember where in my history lessons that was ever owned by anyone but Jews up until they were forced out. Need I also remind you that until recently Palestine wasn't officially recognized as a nation? That they were nomads?

the report if anyone can be bothered to read or even skim through it (its long). anyone who can look at that and still say israel are the good guys needs to get their head checked out.
. There were cases of soldiers breaking procedures, but that's against the law of the IDF. Such soldiers were punished in military courts. http://www.haaretz.com/news/two-idf-soldiers-charged-with-using-9-year-old-human-shield-in-gaza-war-1.264652 The IDF follows the fucking law, Hamas operates outside of the law from the beginning. You just lie. . The Goldstone report was slanted, filled with lies and propaganda. They thought they were representing Israel's side when they used information from Israeli NGOs but they're just sell-outs. Even the judge himself later regretted posting the report. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
Images: Hope that Israel doesn't smash Palestinian to bits.
A total farce.
. What the fuck? You proved your point with the number of dead civilians on either side? How the hell is that relevant? Actual evidence do not support this claim!
Israel does nothing like you said or described. The assassination of the military leader had been in the works for a long time and even before that Hamas had escalated the conflict and become more daring in its assaults. More rockets, more skirmishes on the fence - it had to be answered. They broke the truce brokered by Egypt.
Dear god this doesn't have to do with the elections. The man had been working against Israel for most of his adult life and was the highest ranking official in the army. Hamas had to be stopped, and right now Israel is destroying military targets.
Anyone that thinks Israel is squeaky clean in all of this and has done nothing wrong against the Palestinians should see a psychologist to undo the brainwashing they have had.
That is not to say that Palestine is an innocent party, especially Hamas. Both sides are at fault because they are acting like school children, trying to one up each other on revenge attacks every time they confront each other.
I am of the opinion that neither side actually wants this conflict to end (at the political level, obviously the general population would prefer if missiles didn't fall on them) because they both benefit from it. Israel gets a massive amount of support from the US and that support increases the more danger Israel is in. Palestine get to play the repressed peoples card and receive a lot of aid because of it. No one would give two hoots about them if they were not in conflict with Israel.
It really is a shame the US has a hard on for Israel because they could solve it quite easily. They could sit down both sides, point at a map with a border drawn on it and say "cross the fucking line and see what happens". US support of Israel also means the UN can't do anything either because everything gets vetoed. So really, the US has a bit of blood on their hands as well.
Israel, Palestine and the US, they are all part of the problem. Israel and Palestine are both breaking international law and because of the US there is nothing that can be done about it.
MammothBlade: I wish they'd get a damned divorce already. Throwing dinner plates at each other will solve nothing. The Pope just needs to say yes. Sadly neither has enough piety to get approval, and doesn't look like they will for a while now.
Really? I'm thinking more of the opposite They should just get a hotel room and fuck to get it out of their system.
Palestine is easily the lesser of the two evils, frankly the way Israelis treat Palestine is comparable to the evil Hitler did to the Jews and I personally find their hypocrisy baffling.

Hotel Room? I am thinking Orgy. Get Syria and all the others in there as well and have them commit heinous acts of fornication unto each other. Heinous, heinous acts.
DazBurger: I have nothing against Jews... But I really REALLY don't like Israel. And I feel kinda sad that I feel that I have to put in the first sentence...
I agree. A disgusting state of affairs we live in when people will assume these things. They are the prejudiced ones.

Including that one with the bowl of raw tuna, the serrated scissor blade and the d-cell batteries?
