Gunsmoke: Inn Room

Rugal

"Ah, Teri. And here was me thinking you were going camping..." He said, leaving her wondering how he knew she was at a campfire. "Either way, best get some rest. Also, Dimitri, Progress update on the ship? Got a timeline set up for the repairs?"

"Hiya Sis! Didya have a nice time out there not having somebody trip on ya?"

Teri shot Mel a confused look, Rugal an amazed one and shrugged, "Never had someone to trip on me, Mel; but's its nice, I guess? And Dad, your guess is incredibly spot on... You been training that Energy sense, haven't you?"

The Cleric wandered into the room with a yawn, and settled into one of the beds, Garm flopping himself over the foot of it (at least, as best as a juvenile Direwolf could), and continued, "Yeah, we were having a nice time. Hung with Devon, Ella and Luci... Very fun, real rela- *snort*"

Without realizing it, the Cleric had fallen asleep almost as soon as she had set her head against the pillow, a faint snore tumbling out of her as she did so. Then again, it had been a stressful day for all. After doing so, Dimitri spoke up, a hint of nervousness filling his voice, "Well Mr. Bernstein... I have some bad news. The repairs needed will be extensive, and while we have help from User: Devon's followers, the time needed is undetermined. I am sorry..."

---

"So you've been voluntold for something dangerous, essentially, and you want me keeping an eye on the boys while you handle your thing? You didn't even have to ask me, but thanks for checking with me. I'll be sure to keep up the training with them, and maybe I'll pick up more than a few things from them." Devon stood up straight as he shook Caim's hand, sealing the promise.

Caim smiled sheepishly for a moment and nodded, shaking Devon's hand back; "Thank you Devon, really. When I get the chance, I show you how to do that sonic thing I showed you with the blades. Really handy, especially when you can use it with any weapon you've got. I owe you that much. Now, if you'll excuse me, Angelus wants to talk to me for a bit. See you later."

With a wave, the warrior left the building and joined his eager pact mate; the two taking off into the night sky.

Gunsmoke: Inn Room

Rugal

Rugal couldn't help but smirk as Teri dropped off mid-sentence.
"...Guess I'll get the full story tomorrow then. Goodnight you two." He said before getting into his own bed and dropping off, though part of him wished it was that fancy king size with all the $100 bills like back home...

Night-Day Transition!

Gunsmoke: Dawn

After a good nights sleep, the Rising Dawn one by one woke up.

Rugal

Rugal being the first, the morning sun burning his eye sockets and forcing him awake.
He winced and grabbed his sunglasses, starting to grow annoyed with the extra sensitivity.
Doing his best not to wake everyone else up, he got dressed, cleaned up and made his way downstairs to find out if these rooms came with breakfast.

David

David's awakening was far more traditional, the alarm on his PDA going off before he slammed his fist down on it, not enough to break it, but not through lack of trying.
Groaning as he took awoke, he prayed to whatever god-like entity in this realm that this world had figured out how awesome coffee was yet.

Jenny

Jenny, being formerly of the wild, too was quick to get up, feeling refreshed and ready for whatever madness would occur today.

Storm-178 (And Alpha)
Location: Gunsmoke | On top of the town's water tower.
Time: Morning~

The hard shell of armor felt just like a bed to Storm. He was glad that it wasn't only made for it's military and battle uses, but it had many other uses as well, it was only natural since the Spartans had to live in these suits for weeks to years at a time. Though still wearing the helmet, Alpha decided to open up the black armored screen which protected the helmet's bulletproof glass in case of hazards such as fire, ice and the heat from falling from space.

Storm's red eyes fluttered to life and decided to roll over.
"Five more minutes ... mama~" He said to himself in a very child like voice. Though due to this the metal man slipped off the edge of the water tower and slammed down into the dusty ground. The impact didn't hurt him though he woke up with a shock.

"AAH!" He yelled out, gaining attention of a few people. Storm waved at them but they ignored him and continued their tasks. "I wonder if the Inn slash bar has a intercontinental breakfast?" Storm wondered to himself as he walked towards the Inn. "Don't eat too much, you'll get fat!" Alpha poked at Storm, "Says the person who is gaining weight even though she is an-AH" Storm poked back but a sudden shock flooded his suit.

"(Sorry)" Storm said in his native language (Japanese) before walking into the Inn and up to the counter. "Hello ... does this place serve breakfast ... and maybe come with mini-muffins?" Storm said loudly wondering if anyone was actually up.

Pandora yawned as she awoke from a fairly restful sleep, though she didn't actually start sleeping until 1 AM strolled around. She was thinking a bit heavily when it came to where she buried her old trainer, would she still be there if she'd ever have a bit of mercy she was never shown? had some thug or explorer discovered it, and put her to work? She admits to herself with a sort of guilty satisfaction that she kinda enjoyed both scenarios, now that, like her, she didn't have a voice to tell her tale with... and the tables have turned, she could be the better person. But... she quickly dismissed that idea. She smiled at the thought of the phrase "Karma is a Bi***, isn't it?" She then goes down the stairs from the room, and asks the caretaker for a drink of water... no matter how the glass is cleaned, you'll have to drink eventually right?

(still imagining that Swedish Meal Time guy reading these. XD)

Night-Day Transition!

Gunsmoke: Dawn

Caim, Angelus, Ton Ton, Cadolbolg

Ton Ton arose first out of the family, and very early in the morning. He never really needed much sleep to begin with, so this was not unusual for the Tonberry. In fact, multiple times through the night he kept awakening, his Daemon hunting instincts keeping him on edge. This wasn't as bad when he had a plush form to rely upon but in a form of flesh and blood, even with his lesser needs for slumber, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Wandering out of the room to stop from awakening his family, Ton Ton found himself in a meeting area, and saw that Rugal had already awakened and gave a gentle wave of his ever burning lantern.

Teri, Garm

As usual, Teri awoke with the sun, and began her prayers bright and early; doing her best to keep quiet so as not to wake any who may have been in the room.

An hour later (and a few extra to generally sort out her appearance), the Cleric made her way down the stairs with her faithful wolf in tow and gave a little wave to whoever was at the table.

Gunsmoke: Inn

Rugal

Managing to get a Continental Breakfast with a few sausages, Rugal gratefully tucked in, though he felt slightly guilty letting Slindis pay for all this.
Always Next time... He thought as he enjoyed his meal while everyone else also.
Storm then barged in demanding Mini-Muffins prompting him to say "Hey! You can barely get normal Muffins around here, let alone Mini."
Ton Ton and Teri soon followed and he greeted them.
"Morning. Sleep well you two?" He said as he added some butter to his pastry.

Gunsmoke: Inn

BREAKFAST!

Teri rolled her eyes at Storm's display, and hide a hand behind her back. Rugal was distinctly certain he heard the snapping of fingers, and his daughter calling back,"Storm, quit yelling at the staff! I found some right here."

She scootched a plate down the table towards the Spartan, now covered with steaming fresh blueberry mini muffins. Ah, it was good to be an Author some days. Ton Ton looked ready to protest, but the Cleric held up a finger to her mouth before sitting and helping herself to some bacon (and gathering sausages for Garm),

"Morning, Dad. As for your question, wonderfully. Garm's a good foot warmer. What about you? Ton Ton?"

Ton Ton hopped along on the table, and started nibbling on some eggs.

"I did alright, I guess. I don't think my body's gotten used to the fact I'm not a plushie anymore. I kept waking up for patrols against Daemons ever couple of hours."

Teri frowned a little at Ton Ton's statement, and the Tonberry looked at her with surprise, "I made a pact with Cadolbolg. Our prices were our invulnerability as constructs, or in my case, my plush form. That's why Cadolbolg isn't metal anymore. I thought you knew. Don't worry, I'm not upset by it at all. It could have been much worse. By the way is there any jam?"

Gunsmoke: Inn

BREAKFAST!

Slindis began quietly eating the breakfast with Melethia and Lupito when Devon half staggered down the steps. Since Lucifer hadn't wanted the Bard to sleep in the same room as Ella last night, he'd searched around for another room to sleep in.

Unfortunately, the room with Teri had each bed occupied. So he then had to check Ashworth's room, which was locked. He tried checking Jenny's room, but he heard something shifting in there that made it rather clear that it wouldn't be a good idea to sleep in there as well.

By the time he got to Caim' room and saw the large master bed fully occupied, Devon mentally said 'fuck it' and grabbed the vacuum-sealed sleeping bag he'd saved from the AIM drop in the forest out of his sidepack. After it was fully out, he went underneath the rather tall bed and got what sleep he could, although he stayed completely silent while the Rip and Tear Family got ready.

No, it was not a good sleep for the Bard, and even the Prestidigation couldn't hide it. "Where's a cup of coffee when you need it...?" He grumbled in a half-awake state as he poured himself some coffee and scooped up some eggs, taking a seat near Caim.

Next time, I'm paying for my own goddamn room... He slammed down the scorching coffee to help wake up

Gunsmoke: Inn

BREAKFAST!

Upon seeing Devon drag himself in, Caim paused in pouring himself another cup of coffee, and decided that the bard needed it more than he did, and set it down next to Devon's glass,

"...You alright? You look like you've been forced on march for a day and a half."

Angelus sipped her water and a mild "hpmh" exiting her as she did so, "Bad dreams, Devon? We do have a hunter of those..."

Cadolbolg, who was not permitted to sit on his father's head during breakfast (too many incidents of food landing in his hair), wandered over to Devon and held up a scrumptious looking muffin to Devon, "These make me feel better sometimes. Would this help Friend Devon?"

Gunsmoke: Inn

Fionn

As the group went about their morning routine, Fionn strolled into the inn and over to the table. The Gun Mage was exhausted, having spent the past 10 hours on night watch. He reached for the coffee powder and a container of water, beginning to brew a concoction that would either keep him up for the next week, or cause him to pass out.

"Morning boys and girls, ready to play cowboys and evil cowboys?[1] It seems we have a town to save. "

[1] The unsuccessful sequel to cowboys and indians

Gunsmoke: Inn

Rugal

Rugal had just about finished his food when Fionn came in.
"I guess so. From what Dimitri has told us, our vessel will be some time before it's able to fly again..." He answered as he wiped his mouth on a napkin.
"So how far is Rock Ridge again?" He asked as he pulled out the light duffle bag containing nothing more than a few spare suits.

West, Jenny

The second that he found the coffee, West made the most of it by downing 2 cups to wake himself up.
However, he grew nervous when he heard of the group heading to Rock Ridge.
"Er....Y-you go on ahead, I just have some...Errands to run..." He said unconvincingly, his fatigue affecting his buff.

Jenny was having an apple as the others chowed down until a "WARK!" from the stables reminded her of her new mouth.
"Coming Cid!~" she said, clearly a lot more even headed then Early Morning West was about the whole "Spy Mission" thing.

Gunsmoke: Inn

BREAKFAST!

Devon got to work on the other coffee, taking a moment to respond to Caim. "Just a long night with little sleep. The rest of my roommates were fairly noisy last night, plus it wasn't comfortable at all." He gratefully took the muffin that Cadolbolg offered and finished it, leaving the wrapper by the side.

"Thanks, everyone. Just give a minute for the coffee to kick in, and I'll be fine." He glimpsed at the woman that was reminiscent of a Absol, but brushed it off as her personal style.

---

Slindis waved Pandora over and offered her some of the food. "You may want to get a bite to eat: it's going to be a busy day."

Shortly after, Fionn made his entry and the Drow nodded. "Melethia and I are just about finished." It was right around now that Melethia slipped away after leaving a note for Rugal explaining the mission in a bit more detail.

Gunsmoke: Inn

BREAKFAST!

"Morning boys and girls, ready to play cowboys and evil cowboys? It seems we have a town to save. "

Teri looked up from her conversation with Rugal, her meal finished as well, and wondered aloud, "You know, I never did get the memo about this place... What's going on there?"

In the meantime, the pact partners noticed David and Melethia's sudden absence, and took note that this was their cue. Giving each of the Cuties a pat on the head, and gentle (mental) admonishments about being good under Devon's care, the duo took their leave.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

Once the team heading to Rock Ridge was in place, Rugal stood before them to explain the situation.

"Okay people, The Situation is this. For months, a nearby town much like this one has been attacked by a large gang of Bandits, Raiders, Criminals, what have you. Now, seeing how we're stuck here for the foreseeable future, We could use something to pass the time and considering our skills, this should be a walk in the park. Our Mission is simple enough, Get to Rock Ridge, Rebuild the town, Kill the bandits and their ringleaders. Anyone want to opt out, be my guest, doesn't affect me in the slightest, just be on the ship when we are ready to leave, that's all I care about.

Now, if no one has any questions..."
Without stopping to let anyone ask any, he began the march out of Gunsmoke towards the forsaken town of Rock Ridge.
This can't be any worse then those Angels... He thought as he headed out.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

West waited for the other members of his little team by the train station.
Once they were in place, He said:

"Okay gang, easy job, you know the guy, I ain't saying his name (Dean Solitaire) and you know what to do and, hopefully, what not to do. I'm looking at you, Caim. We just catch a train into Blackwater, find the guy, roleplay a little as people who aren't spying on him, spy on him and we might even get paid for this bout of heroics, that'd be a first...

So...Dibs on a Window seat!"

West then led his gang on board the first train to Blackwater City, hoping this wouldn't end badly like it usually does.

Train to Blackwater

David hesitantly followed West onto the train, looking mildly irritated, and began talking to himself in a hushed voice. "...Well, hopefully this will be better than yesterday. But really, I have no idea why I was dragged along for this to begin with.`I mean, I was just thrown into this place yesterday!"

David took one of the window seats, pulled out his book with a sigh, and resumed his reading. Hopefully nothing would interrupt his little session this time.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

As the walk began, Teri and Garm found a place by Rugal's side, and were enjoying small talk to whittle away the monotony of their journey. However, it wasn't long before the Cleric noticed that her lupine companion began panting up a storm in the heat. The sound of face meeting palm filled the air, and the Cleric gave a soft cry,

"Oh, crap! Sorry buddy! One second Dad, lemme fix this up right away..."

Rugal heard the sound of the otherworldly chanting the Cleric was prone to do, and then... Garm's panting stopped. Did she silence the beast? No, that wasn't like her... What happened?

Teri cast Endure Elements! Garm is now warded against hot or cold environments for 24 hours! 24 seconds until the next 1st level spell can be cast...

After a moment of silence, Teri wondered aloud, "Maybe I should go spread this among the group... It's only fair."

Meanwhile, Ton Ton and Cadolbolg entertained themselves with gliding on the thermals of the desert air; staying close to Devon, as their parents asked. For once, Ton Ton even had his hood up; which aided in keeping the hot sun off his face. Fire resistance or no, nobody likes a sunburn!

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

Caim gave a shrug to David's remark, "I'm not a complete fool. I understand the need for a stealthy approach. However, if one tries to kill me, I'll take the necessary action to prevent that."

Regardless, the duo found themselves comfortably seated on the train, finding a pair of seats to themselves, but still having enough room for others to come and go as they pleased...

Gunsmoke: Train heading to Blackwater

David glanced up from his book to take a look at the couple that sat in the seats across from him... "Hmm... GHAAKKPFFFFT!"...and nearly choked on his own spit. He quickly diverted his gaze and glued his eyes to the novel.

'Is it... No. It can't be... Could it? He peeked over his book one more time, to confirm what he saw. He found that the man was looking back at him, and the student paled. He quickly hid behind the book once more. 'YES. YES THAT IS DEFINITELY HIM. OH SHIT!' David was shaking quite noticeably, and rightfully so. He knew who this man was and where he was from, not to mention what he was capable of. He just wriggled deeper into his seat and pretended that he didn't do anything.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

Slindis walked near Teri with Lupito in tow, taking a look at the spell that her student had cast on Garm. It was unfamiliar to her, but she had the feeling that she could use the spell herself if she took a bit of time to see how it worked. "Teri, did you even ensure that you have a water supply? I already guaranteed Devon one, but I'd like to make sure you're fine as well." With that, she pulled out a decent sized flask that looked like it could hold a quart of liquid and handed it to her student.

"In a desert, water is more valuable than gold. It fills up every quarter hour, so you should be fine when it comes to hydrating yourself."

---

Devon, however, decided to pick Ton-Ton up and put him on his shoulder. Even if the Tonberry was fire resistant, Caim did want him to keep an eye on the both of them. "Holding up well, guys?" For her part, Ella was with them and holding up well having grown up in Hell, and the Bard was holding up well enough.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

Melethia looked at David shrinking in his seat and laughed. "Relax, Library! It's just Mister Caim and Redscale. They're a bit scary, but nothin' to worry about." As she kept an eye on David, she juggled a dagger with a deep purple blade.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

Rugal pressed on as Teri cast her magic, though the sudden end to Garms panting was curious.
It was enough for him to ask "Before you spread anything, mind telling me at what "It" is?" as he marched onwards, leading despite his sense of direction being off what with being blind and all.
Still, he figured if he was going the wrong way, someone would point it out to him.
In the meantime, he wiped some sweat from his brow before pushing in his sunglasses.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

West had his feet up, having taken a pair of seats to himself alone, sighing happily as he felt he could go to sleep again.
All the while, Jenny came back from the Livestock carriage, checking up on Cid before returning to her seat.
"Well, It's no Metro, but this is nice, not tot fast, not too slow." she mused as she looked at the passing countryside, the desert slowly giving way to greener pastures.

Diablo1099:

Pandora sits silently on the train headed to blackwater for a while, just staring out the window. The seemingly endless sand in her view reminded her so much of that day... she wondered, what would have happened to her if she hadn't switched bodies? It seemed some of the strongest on her team were team rocket's first targets... and through all the poison, confusion, burning... she hadn't failed once to bring an opponent down. Yet everyone else was stolen first... was this because team rocket was afraid? Afraid of what her presence in the wild would have meant? Or because like many the thieves believed catastrophe would befall them to find her?

Regardless, she snaps back to reality after seeming to stare for quite some time. "I take it everyone else is as new here as me, but does anybody have any idea when we're supposed to arrive?" she asks, pulling out a stopwatch to check the time. She wasn't exactly as eager to get there as she was to have some conversation to keep her mind off things... she hates to admit it to herself, but what happened before was probably going to stick with her for the rest of her life.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

"In a desert, water is more valuable than gold. It fills up every quarter hour, so you should be fine when it comes to hydrating yourself."

Teri considered mentioning that she could easily Author or magic in water, but decided to hold her tongue and instead thanked Slindis for the flask and took a nice sip; enjoying the crispness of the water.

"Thanks mum. Also, that spell you two asking about is called Endure Elements. It makes it easier to survive in hot or cold environments. It doesn't prevent damage, but it'll prevent heatstroke. Look at Garm; not breaking a sweat. That was the reason I thought about it, because he had such a tough time yesterday. And... I can do it like this,"

She waved her hands in the same gestures, chanted in the strange mixture of Celestial and Aquan, and tapped Rugal's side (as she noticed his Terminator Sunglasses were slipping off his nose). To Rugal's pleasant surprise, the heat didn't bother him at all. In fact, he felt as if he was walking on calm spring morning.

As he took note of this, Teri giggled, "You still have those shades, huh? I thought you would have gotten rid of them by now..."

The Cleric smiled fondly at the memory, and the impersonations that ensued from that. Perhaps she could convince Rugal to do it again? Maybe when they weren't in the middle of a desert... As they continued wandering and the Cleric waited for a response, Teri allowed her mind to go blank, and turned inward...

"Sadei...? You still there? I understand if you're a bit mad at me for not talking for awhile; and I've no one but me to blame for that. I guess I'm easily distracted. But, the matter remains that I broke my promise to talk often. And for that... I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to make up for it?"

---

"Holding up well, guys?"

Ton Ton sat comfortably on his perch of Devon's shoulder and gave a happy nod, "Yup! My hood helps out from keeping the sun in my eyes; especially riding around on Cadolbolg. The thermals really help with lifting up!"

"It really does!"

Cadolbolg coasted down from the high distance he was at previously, and was floating right above Devon's head, casting a pleasant shadow over the bard, "I don't have to flap my wings very much here! And the sun feels so nice on my scales... Ah~! You seem to like the heat too, Friend Devon. Are you from a desert?"

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

"Relax, Library! It's just Mister Caim and Redscale. They're a bit scary, but nothin' to worry about."

Caim gave David a curious glance and shrugged, "I don't believe I've met you, 'Library', but if you're a friend of Melethia's, then unless you have a reason for me to doubt otherwise, there is no reason to be jittery. I'll trust you, for now. We're on the same job anyway, correct?"

"Well, It's no Metro, but this is nice, not too fast, not too slow."

Angelus smiled as she saw Jenny return from the Cargo pen, no doubt to visit her newly acquired bird. It was charming, like a child getting their first pet. As Jenny returned to her seat, she asked, "You're creature doing well, I take it? I certainly hope it'd be hardy, considering what you did to save it's life..."

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

"Relax, Library! It's just Mister Caim and Redscale. They're a bit scary, but nothin' to worry about."

David looked at the elf with wide, panicky eyes. "I know VERY WELL who they are, Melethia! And "a bit scary" is the biggest understa- Wait, Redscale? Do you mean..." David looked at Caim again, and noted the woman in red sitting beside him. After having his brows furrowed in contemplation for a couple of seconds, all the color drained from his face, finally recognizing who she is. "Uhhhhhh..."

David didn't hear Caim's words, as he was too freaked out to even notice. Besides, last he remembered the man couldn't even speak because of his pact. He didn't get very many lines in the game either.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

Rugal was put off by the sudden feeling of coolness on his skin, but when he realised the benefits, he quickly relaxed.
"I see. Guess I won't be working on my tan lines during my stay here..." He smiled as wiped the last of his sweat from his forehead as the issue of Sunglasses arose.
"Well...Would you rather if I had? It was either this or a bandana across my eyes. I decided this would be less..."Noticeable"..." He explained before turning to Slindis.
"Before you ask, I'm fine for water for now. My only real concern was the heat and our Dear Cleric here took care of that." He said, a hint of warm pride in his voice as he walked.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

"Well, I just want to get it to a proper home. I just couldn't bear to see it be butchered like that. I understand the food cycle and what-not, but just that happy little face of his..." Jenny answered as she glanced over the nearing the plains.
"I mean, I'm betting SOMEONE out there would care to buy him off me, just I don't think Hiryu would like it if I brought it on the Blue Dragon. Droppings everywhere!" She laughed, the mental image of Blade in a janitor's outfit coming to mind.

"I take it everyone else is as new here as me, but does anybody have any idea when we're supposed to arrive?"
"I wouldn't worry about that if I was you." West said as he enjoyed the ride.
"We have a habit of running into trouble so I'm all for something that kills time in which something can go wrong. Just a nice, relaxing, event free, Train ride..." He stated, tempting the powers of fate as he did.

Diablo1099:

at the words "we have a habit of running into trouble, she replies, "Glad I'm not the only one then!" she says with a snicker. "A ton of people back home saw me as a bad omen, especially because me and others like me are pretty much predetermined to show up right before disaster strikes... gets us blamed for a lot of things unfortunately." she says with a sigh "Still, glad I'm out of that running, or at least I hope I am. I can still tell when sh**'s about to hit the fan, though that's degraded a bit since..." she cuts herself off, accidental or no, she didn't want to see the probable reaction to having "borrowed" someone's body without the intention of giving it back. "Anyway right now I think we're good."

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge

Slindis kept that spell in mind as her pupil proceeded to place the spell on the panting Lupito. "Those glasses help prevent any injury to the afflicted areas on him, so it's no surprise that he keeps them on."

Devon nodded as he continued walking with Ton-Ton. "Pretty sure I did, otherwise this would feel a good bit worse." The coffee was fully kicking in, and he wasn't forcing Cadolbolg to slow down all that much.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Blackwater

"Wow, ya get scared really easy. I mean, it's only them and miss Snow over there, and Miss Jenny's just coming back from seeing Cid." She laughed a little at how shaken David A. was, especially since he'd be heading into something a lot more dangerous.

"So, what'll we use for cover stories? I'll say I'm Miss Snow's daughter, and Library could me that nephew you had brought over to whip into shape, Mister Caim!" Due to the odd choice, it may take a second or two for Pandora to catch onto her nickname of miss Snow.

Storm-178 (And Alpha)
Location: Gunsmoke | Inn.
Time: Breakfast.

The Spartan took his helmet once more to eat the muffins. "Thank you ... though I didn't really yell" Storm said to the cleric but said the last bit quietly. Once more Storm smiled as he was enjoying his breakfast of mini-muffins, and he was glad that he got something that Rugal didn't have. Though Storm could feel a virtual touch you can say, and once more Alpha was next to him in holographic form.

"Umm ... uh" She said nervously and was too embarrassed to say anything. Storm laughed inside his head as he noticed her gaze towards the blueberry muffins. "Go ahead, take one." He held up a muffin towards her. It would be obvious that she cannot eat the muffin though she pressed a few buttons, scanned the muffins and there we go, she held a muffin. "Hmm, I see that this is no ordinary muffin, it is made from-", "Just eat the muffin, k?" He said in a tired voice, the fall from the water tower did not bode well for him. The holographic AI shrugged and kept eating.

Gunsmoke: Team heading to Rock Ridge - Minutes later after breakfast.

Storm was walking beside the group which was heading to Rock Ridge. Thanks to Alpha the suit's cooling system was working once more and the Spartan looked happy as can be. He was well protected from the sun and head, and yet he filled up his water storage before he left. Though the only thing that worried him was the killing part of the plan, he does not intend to kill anyone and if anything he is more interested in the rebuilding part of the plan rather then the action.

"Though I guess I would get slack if I don't fight once in a while ... I'll guess I'll fight non-lethally. Might get some money afterwards." He said to himself and smirked underneath his helmet.

Teri could faintly hear Sadeo through what felt like a large amount of interference. -i -er-, I-'s --en a -h-le since I -as- -ear- fro- --u

"Sadei?! I can't hear you very well. You sound so far away..."

Teri's mind strained to get a better listen on Sadei's voice, but with her parents talking in her ears, found her concentration was broken.

"Those glasses help prevent any injury to the afflicted areas on him, so it's no surprise that he keeps them on."

After beaming from the compliment, Teri waved a hand back in forth dismissively, she fussing faintly, "Nonononono! You misunderstand me. It's not the fact that he's wearing sunglasses, its that pair in particular! You see- you know what? Forget it. You weren't there when it happened Mum, and if Dad doesn't remember, I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill... Ah well, at least I remember."

With a little sigh, she readied the incantation for the next use of the spell for Slindis, not even realizing she hadn't used it on herself yet.

"Pretty sure I did, otherwise this would feel a good bit worse."

Cadolbolg took note of the speed increase with joy, not having to keep himself slow for Devon's sake. With another

"So, what'll we use for cover stories? I'll say I'm Miss Snow's daughter, and Library could me that nephew you had brought over to whip into shape, Mister Caim!"

Caim shook with a silent laugh, "A shame Devon isn't here, aside from the titles that falsehood would become truth!"

However, his laughter ended when he heard David's comment, and frowned, his Death GlareTM beginning to do it's work, "... You know who we are? What do you mean by that, boy? Someone spreading rumors, or do you know who we are. I don't intend to harm you, but tell me what you know now and how you got that information; and we can end this conversation on peaceful terms..."

Angelus flickered a glance to the boy as well, and gave a sniff of the air, just to see if there was anything off about him; but as far as she could tell, she smelled musty books. Furthermore, between her, Melethia and Jenny, the three already knew that Caim's newfound paranoia was most likely rooted in Furiae's recent release. The less known about that, the better.

However, Angelus had another pet theory regarding Caim's hostilities. Depending upon how the boy responded, it could prove or disprove him being an Author... Which was something Angelus did NOT want to deal with at that moment. Two of them was bad enough; but at least they had a large force to aid them as well as combat skills to protect themselves with. An untrained Author was like a live grenade in a mine field; ready to cause chaos with the lightest of motions.

"Oh right,...Well, I figured seeing my luck with my vision, I might as well hang onto a pair, unfortunately, my hunch was right..." Rugal stated, reminding himself of his blinding.
"Still, I can say I do not regret bringing them now..." He added as they neared a incline.

West looked on as David A. managed to get himself in a spot of bother with Caim.
"Hey, Caim my man, mind not getting your murder on this train? If you wait until Blackwater, I'll even help you dump the body." He snarked from his seat before turning to Melethia and adding "And I call the Irish Brother!"

Jenny meanwhile was up and trying to calm Caim down before he got REALLY mad.
"Listen to me Caim, He could have just heard it from one of the others. Come on, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves..." She said, hoping to quell his wrath before it got underway.

David stood up from his seat, his back leaning against the window, with Caim following suit, except he wasn't cowering back in fear. More like ready to pull out a weapon out of nowhere to cut him into many bloody pieces. The amulet's buzz grew from a soft buzz into something much more louder and painful. It felt like his brain was going to spill out of his ears and onto the floor. Before David could speak, Jenny spoke up and tried to calm him down.

"Listen to me Caim, He could have just heard it from one of the others. Come on, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves..."

"AHAHAHAHA! Y-yeah that's it! I j-just heard talk about you and Angelus from the others! S-sounded like some pretty grisly stuff!" David didn't sound particularly convincing (read:not at all), but he hoped Caim would buy it, otherwise his time here will be very VERY short and messy.

Angelus lightly tapped Caim on the shoulder, the warrior still on edge of the implications David brought, and spoke softly, "What they say is true, Caim. You and I have a long and bloody list of deeds that has granted us a less than stellar reputation... Look at he shivers. Obviously he's heard tales of how you've rendered armies into nothing... Did not the Empire quell in the same way?"

Caim's glare remained, but his posture loosened, and he found himself back in a comfortable position in his seat. Finally, he blinked and looked out the window for a distraction, waving a hand to dismiss David, "Fine. They speak the truth. I'll trust their judgement."

Hiding a sigh of relief as a sigh, Angelus shot a thankful glance at Jenny and 'sent', "Thank you. We did not need our cover blown... I'll work a bit harder to keep him under check..."

"Fine. They speak the truth. I'll trust their judgement."

David fell back in his seat, letting out a breath that he held onto for a good minute. The amulet's humming slowed, and the pain in his head slowly went away. Within a couple of seconds of it stopping, it came back, though this time it was much more intense as was the hum, causing him to grip his forehead and squeeze his eyes shut, as a faint and staticky voice echoed in the recesses of his mind. ""Than- ....We did-.... -own... -ork a bi-..... to ke-...-eck......"

"Ghh!" As soon as the voices faded, the pain did as well. Any of the lingering fear that was left after dealing with Caim was replaced with a strong sense of perplexity. 'What... What the hell was that?'

After about ten minutes of walking on a desert road in the scorching heat, leaving the GM to wonder why the hell they didn't get some kind of transport, the group could hear the sound of steps, random "kweh!"s and the clacking of cart wheels on stones.

It was Fionn, having taken the path of common sense and gotten a Wagon and four Chocobos to pull it. His shotgun was placed on the front passenger seat in easy reach. As he approached the group he called out "Anyone boarding the express? Or are you all going to try to fight the sun in a war of endurance?" He said as he stooped the cart and jumped off, checking that the chocobos were alright. "You all know it's about 10 miles to Rock Ridge right? Do you honestly think you'll be able to put up fight against whatever is out there after walking this?"

Melethia nodded to West. "I dunno what a Irish is, but I'll be more than happy to have ya as a brother, Keen Eye." She smiled before she drifted over to Pandora and looked up at her. "If what the time table said earlier was right, we're a bit over halfway there Miss Snow. Ya okay?"

She heard the bit about being a magnet for bad luck and shrugged. "So people wanna blame ya for when they mess up an' botch a plan, huh? Maybe they're just scared of that neat look ya have, but for lotsa people, disaster's just an excuse."

Slindis thought a moment about how to respond to Fionn's response without sounding offended, eventually going with a polite nod as she jumped onto Lupito's back. "I do appreciate you watching out for the others here, even if ten miles isn't all that long of a walk. The others can ride with you, but I'm more than comfortable riding on Lupito. Teri already cast a spell on him to ensure that this isn't that bad for him, and ten miles is nothing compared to a three day journey in the desert in full plate." Some of the others entered the carriage, notably Devon, Ella and Ton-Ton.

Sadei responded to Teri again, this time coming in a bit stronger. Sorry, it's just a bit hard to hear you... I didn't mean to cause you any trouble, Teri. She was clearly a bit down, and she hid her emotions worse than Melethia. Even an idiot could pick up on Sadei's dejected state.

Devon held Ton-Ton in his lap as he stayed near Ella, and Devon took some time from the small talk with Ella to check up on Ton-Ton. "Last time I practiced with your Dad, we were focusing on some special movements I could make in a fight. SO, when we go for training, just start up in close range"
