Five quickly swam back. "Looks like we'll use you for something after all."
The explosion blew another whole in the side of the boat. The place shuddered and rocked, bubbles going everywhere. The glow was brighter now. It was coming from deeper in the hull. Five swam past first, apparently eager to find the source. He intermittently took off the oxygen mask, tasting the water. The salt made him screw up his nose, before he spit it out and replaced the air. There was a large bubble, a barrier, and in the middle was a man with red around his neck. "*cough* okay... I think we found Starkiller..."
Peace went over to the body, trying to see what he could gather from the corpse. Well, we found one person. But are we getting any closer to finding out where the other target went? Maybe this can give us some sort of hint. Or maybe give us a better idea just what it is we might be dealing with...
"No one used me, I did it out of the kindness of my heart." Not removing his mask out of convenience.
"Well he/she/it blew up an whole entire oil rig and killed a person who kills stars. I think that is enough evidence for me." Shifts his gloved hands through the explosives he had on hand. He doubted the target was near by but it calmed him.
"We are not to far from the coast. I bet some thing or someone might have gotten on shore."
"I should mention that you know, we're on an oil tanker, so explosions should be kept to a minimum. Just sayin." He swam close to the NPC. "So, doctor, you wanna pull him back up to the boat? I don't really want to look him over down here."
Peace shrugged Fine. Just bring him along. I ain't gettin' my hands dirty bringing this lug back to the ship with us. And we should call the others now that we've found something.
"Welp, Haggard, it looks like you're going to bring him back. Make sure he gets back in one piece!" Five waved, darting up towards the surface. He turned on a small GPS on his suit, alerting their boat that they were ready to be picked up.
"Its just a dead body, the only hard part is how heavy its gonna be with all the cloth he's wearing." Dismissing his lack of confidence in him, slunging Starkiller on his shoulder.
*Sarah met back up with the other members of the group as they were swimming to the extraction point with the body in tow.*
So what happens after this? We're going after the person Starkiller was tracking down, I assume.
"Well our orders were to check this out, not hunt the man responsable." Doggy padding to the surface draging the jedi with him.
"We can't hunt this human nuke until our friend wakes up."
Grabbing on the the rail he slung Starkiller on the deck before lifting himself out.
"I would rather not die this week on forign soil." He admited snapping the mask off, sounding breathless.
Starkiller's eyes opened to him hitting the deck.
"RRRAAAAGGGHHH" Starkiller rose like an awakened lion. He let out a great deal of force that nearly tipped over the boat. Anger was in his eyes and to him everything was a blur. He looked to the closest man to him and raised him off the ground, nearly snapping his neck. Luckily it was Haggard.
"WHERE AM I?!" Starkiller yelled. In his fit of anger Starkiller lost all bearing on who he was or why he was here. All that mattered was that misfit Ryan that had defeated him early on. He swore to find that boy and kill him slowly.
Before he could blink he wind pipe was as narrow as a rasin, he was as confused as Starkiller when it happened.
I just had to jinx myself!
He limply pointed to his troat with his right hand trying to convay he couldn't answer him.
With his left he was reaching for a small disk in his back pocket; just in case he wouldn't get the point.
Starkiller noticed this and grinned. He let go of Haggard and instead of letting him go he used the force to pin him against the metal wall of the boat. The metal bent around Haggard as it pushed him into the metal molding it in his shape.
"Did Ryan send you to finish the job?! Who sent you?! You can talk now can't you?!" Starkiller yelled.
Calm down, Starkiller. We're not here to fight you.
*She stepped closer to the angered man and attempted to calm him.*
We came here looking for you; Empress Michiko sent us.
Haggard only just got his hand out from behind his back before being molded into the metal wall. It was crushing enough to make
"She's telling the truth, now let me go before you blow up another ship you ungrateful bastard..."
Starkiller let Haggard go and he fell back on the deck with a thump. His ears picked up on Michiko's name and slowly his memory faded back into his brain. He still showed little regret in nearly killing Haggard.
"The Empress? How long has it been since I've last come into contact with her?" Starkiller asked.
"Five days. Five days, four hours, and thirty nine minutes, to be exact. Was this explosion caused by your little scuffle?" He made sure to stand a bit further back, even if he was sure that wouldn't absolutely save him. He was certainly not going to stand between Starkiller and Haggard if they decided to go at it.
"That's correct..." Starkiller stepped back but he still didn't drop his guard. He still didn't trust whoever these people were but at least they knew Michiko and the means that they are high enough on the PAC chain of command or at least they knew them. The only matter was who were they.
"You know who I am so who are you people?"
We're agents of PAC. More specifically, we're a specialized group that tracks down high priority targets, outside of PAC's official jurisdiction.
*She looked at him and saluted.*
Private Sarah Masters, sir. With me are Five, Haggard, Auron and Dr. Peace.
"This has been a lovely reunion, but we need to get you back to base. I can't exactly track down Nayr with just this. You probably are the best chance we have to find him again for now, otherwise we'll have to start looking around wherever he went underground." Five took out a cellphone from his bag. It looked like he called a number, but then he just chucked it over the side of the boat. "They'll be expecting us back at the dock. Let's go."
They quickly reached shore again. It was a lot more windy with the night getting later. It was dark, but just as Five predicted, there was someone waiting for them. A young woman who almost looked like she was glowing waited there with an umbrella. There was enough light to see her kimono, and the designs that marked her as one of Michiko's lower attendants.
Well, we managed to find one of the targets. I trust the empress has something else for us to work with... he stayed behind most of the others, wondering what they were going to do now.
"Indeed, Dominus. The Empress is very pleased with your results. Your fees have all been wired to your accounts. However, as you say, you've only found one target. PAC will continue surveillance to track Nayr's last movements, and then you will be sent out to where he was last seen. You have our gratitude." She bowed slightly and turned, getting into a black car. It drove off slowly.
Five shrugged, getting on his bike. "See you all back at the place. I'm eating out so I don't have to stay with you idiots."
With Five leaving he was in slightly better company but StarKiller made him feel bitter.
"Well I am going to get some grub, you can have fun with our new guest without me."
Wanders off in Fives opposite direction hoping he wouldn't run into him.
He wouldhave liked to knew the crew abit better after their brief vacation from the field but he would need more then a secound to start to forgive "star-choose curse word of your choice".
I shouldn't let two people ruin my fun. How much food could I get? Must be alot cheaper then the stuff sold in the states.
Auron began walking to the nearest diner, motioning for Starkiller to follow him. Starkiller. What happened when you battled Nayr?
Peace walked off silently, heading back to where he was staying until he received his next call. Don't know why they bothered dragging my along, but a paycheck's a paycheck.
Starkiller rubbed his head, trying to think back into what had happened to him five days ago. He leaned against the railing and tried to face Auron but a headache surged through him.
"Ugh- I tracked him down to the oil tanker... I don't know how but he got the upper hand. He destroyed the ship with me in it. He escaped, I just know it. I sense his power still out there."
A warrior like him, defeated by a human. Trojan or not, he won't be living this down. Where is he then? Tell me.
Starkiller banged his fist against the wall in frustration. He had to kill Nayr now even if the Empress wouldn't have anything of it. Not only was he a menace but the only one to have "defeated" him.
"The closest island closest to here is an oilrig and there's no doubt in my mind that he will strike there next. He already killed the crew of the oil tanker and I wouldn't be surprised if he killed the crew members there as well. I need to end him..." Starkiller said with growing wrath simmering inside of him. It wasn't only a matter of security but of pride as well.
Thanks for the opinion. Auron said as he walked inside a diner. But I asked where you sensed his power to be. And calm down, you won't end Nayr by yourself
Starkiller concentrated hard, getting on track due to Auron's concise comment. He calmed down, but only to see where Nayr was rather than focus his anger on something else. It took him a few seconds but soon he found a good estimate on where he thinks Nayr could be.
"South... he's south of here. It looks like he's in-"
"Bali, your Nayr is in Bali." Starkiller looked up to see two Crimson Band members before them, wrapped in their iconic red gear but they didn't talk. It was the slender figure between them.
"Elanor, what are you doing here?" Starkiller stepped forward but so did Elanor. She was tall and slender, with short brown hair. Her face was deceivingly innocent with a hint of insanity dwelling in her soft voice. On her right arm, a needle that almost touched the ground and the other a harpoon.
"Delivering a message, Starkiller. It's that your work is needed elsewhere. We're hunting after Nayr now and not you. Your investigation has led you nowhere and it is appropriate that the council send more to deal with the likes of Nayr." Anger began to pierce through Starkiller's facade of calmness.
"I will not have the council once again telling me how to do my job! Nayr is my target and mine alone."
"We are on the same side, Starkiller, and it is only reasonable that they send more Crimson Band to deal with Nayr. He is powerful but not powerful enough to deal with the three of us. You are relived, Starkiller."
"Hmph.... so be it." Starkiller walked past the three Crimson Band members with a mischievous grin written on his face.
"We apologize for his actions. We heard what he did to your fellow members. He's more a bulldog then a warrior. Anyway, as you heard Nayr is in Bali, Indonesia. The place was a booming tourist island before the war and now its a haven for cutthroats and murderers. I have already told the others to meet at a nearby airport." Elanor said. With that she turned and left with the other two Crimson Band in tow.
The PAC plane's rotors were already spinning by the time the majority of the group arrived. The plane was large and with landing gear that could successfully coast on the water. It looked outlandish but it was their only ride to Bali at the moment.
Elanor and the two Crimson Band members were already awaiting them on the tarmac.
"Ready?!" She yelled over the sound.
"Well, at least I didn't eat much." Five shouldered his bag, walking into the plane. He was grateful Bali was well within PAC territory, it meant they had some sort of backup. Still, Bali wasn't a vacation spot. Even he had a gun with him now, even if it felt awkward on his belt. He passed the three Crimson members, briefly glancing over them. At least they should be safe.
He sat down, putting his bag in the seat beside him. Almost 3000 miles to Bali... still, short flight.
The shortest Crimson Band member looked like a woman. She was fairly covered up in a red scarf along with her hood, and her eyes looked dark. She waved the group into the plane, waiting until they were all inside before closing it.
*Sarah was the first among the group to arrive to the plane. She didn't venture far, and her "dinner" consisted only of the military rations she had with her.
She was looking over the dossier again, trying to get a handle on their current situation.*
I'm not sure how much help we'll be against Nayr if someone as powerful as Starkiller couldn't beat him.
*Despite her reservations she still wouldn't hesitate if she had to go up against him.*
"Oh, well, you don't have to worry about him. That's what we're here for." The woman who closed the door sat down next to Sarah, peeking over at the dossier. Nothing she wasn't already shown. "We just need you to find him. I heard you guys are really good at that." She didn't lower her scarf or hood, just leaning back against the seat. "You're Sarah, right?" Her eyes twinkled, creasing like she was smiling even though her lips were hidden.
Well, finding things is what I'm paid for. Not sure if I'd be so cocky as to say I'm that good at it...Peace strolled up, yawning after he walked up, stretching. So I assume you'll be the ones doing the fighting once we find this guy... I hope you know what you're doing.
"Yes. We've... I've seen him before. We have a lot of data on him, considering. He's... arrogant. Overconfident. We've been training for a few weeks now, specifically to stand a better chance at his attacks." She held up an arm, pulling back a loose sleeve to reveal a weight armlet. "It'll feel good to finally get these off... hopefully we can find him soon."
You've been training for him, huh? Well who are you? And when did you see him? From what I heard, he only seemed to get most of his power fairly recently. Right around the time that group of NPCs up and left Japan. At least according to the files the Empress gave me. He didn't know how much time had actually passed since then, but did find it strange someone had been training for this fight.
