X-Men RP (Final X) Application thread ==CLOSED==

Hello Escapists! I am new here, I've been RPing on other forums, but my friend said this place is pretty good, so let's give it a try.

Name:

Nationality:

Alias:

Race: Mutant (Homo Superior), Mutate, Canis Sapien, Alien (No Skrulls), Immortal (Homo Supreme). PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUTANT AND MUTATE! A mutant is someone like Magneto, born with their powers, while a mutate is someone like Deadpool, who was given his powers through an external source (cybernetics, magic, etc.)

Age: THIS IS IMPORTANT. In this game, older people will have more control over their powers, but won't be as agile as younger people.

Height/Weight: Approximate, just so we know if we can do a "speedball special". (if you don't know it, look it up)

Powers/Talents: This includes special training as well as your mutant powers. Yes, you can have studied at Prof. X's school.

Weakness: Everyone has a weakness! Come on, share.

Weapons:

Equipment: Anything that you use outside of weaponry.

Appearance:

Clothing and costume: Two different things.

General Bio:

If I need to create a character for story, I will post a character sheet on that post. Here is the character I will be controlling throughout most of the story.

Name: Hector Fynn.

Nationality: Australian.

Alias: Riptide

Race: Mutant

Age: 21

Height/Weight: 6"2, 70 kilos (about 155 pounds)

Powers/Talents:
Water Manipulation, including water from the air.
Flight, by manipulating moisture in the air to hold him upwards.
Extremely fast swimming, by manipulating water.
Basic unarmed combat training.
Skilled Marksman.
Never needs to drink.
(Untrained, still cannot do all the time), freeze water, using claws, encasing himself in ice, etc.

Weakness: Separated from any liquid at all for about half an hour, he will die. Heat also makes him incredibly ill, and can cause him to go comatose.

Weapons: Carries a knife, but rarely uses it. Has been known to carry a 9mm pistol on occasion.

Equipment: 5 canteens strapped to his belt, which he uses for combat.

Appearance: Long fair hair, blue eyes, webbed fingers and toes (mutation), fairly well muscled, small frame.

Clothing: Stereotypical surfer guy clothes, boardshorts, tanktop, etc.

Costume: Light blue tank top style spandex with white X spreading across the entire shirt, including the back. Dark blue bandanna, mirror sunglasses. Specially cooled to prolong time he can stay in the sun.

Bio: Hector grew up in Sydney, and was always fond of water sports, competing in state swimming competitions from the age of 6. His mutant powers began to manifest themselves at the age of 13, when he accidentally flooded his whole school when he was trying to get water out of an out-of-order drinking fountain. After witnessing the X-Men battle the brotherhood on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, he followed them back to England and enrolled in Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Even now at the age of 21 he continues to study, searching for new ways to use his water powers. He is currently the leader of the X-Men team, Final X.

Here is my sheet, hope to be allowed in.

I'm interested and will be producing a sheet but there is so much more you need to explain.
For example I'm not that used to the universe so explaining the background of the world would be helpful.
Also while you don't have to give away the story saying the basic set up and plot would really help attract people.
How much is this rp a part of the established cannon? For example are we just using the same basic set up or are we also using the characters?
Will people like me who don't know anything about the X-Men be at much of a disadvantage? If so could you maybe say who someone of the important people are so we aren't lost?
Anyway expect sheet soon.

There's a lot here so I've double spoiler-ed it.

What do you think about that for a sheet?

I register my interest. The character sheet is being processed.

I'll think about applying.

I'm game, just let me work on my sheet real quick-like.

hope this is ok.

Nuba and Shas, accepted.
Avoulence, please stick to the species I provided. Your power is strange and I don't think it'll work well. If you want to use that power, it's a little strangely phrased, so please simplify.
Also, your sheet is a big wall of text, hurts brain. Please separate text. Until then, denied.

In regards to the following questions:

1. This RP is staying as far away from the cannon as possible, obviously those characters exist but I'll be trying to limit interaction with them.
2. In the Marvel Universe, the X-Men mutants are split into different teams, such as X-Force, X-Men, New Mutants, X-Factor, etc. My character is the leader of the team, Final-X.
3. No, you shouldn't be at a disadvantage for not knowing much of the X-Men universe. A quick glance over a wikipedia page will bring you up to speed if you get lost, you may want to look up Mutant Utopia, as that is where we will be based.
4. I will say who important people are if we interact with them, I said that in the OP.

I made my character more of a mercenary then a fellow mutant, but what the hell, it's fiction.

Sorry I thought when you said alien you meant we could make up our own.
Is that not what you meant?

avouleance2nd:

I think he means alien races from the Marvel universe there are a lot
here's a link to help though I'm sure there are a few other off limit races http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alien_races_in_Marvel_Comics

N_of_the_dead:

You can just call youself "Newton", for constantly breaking his laws.

I will elaborate on the aliens issue, my bad guys.
You can be Kree, Shi-Ar, or Half-Skrull. The Shi-Ar are like humans but slightly more birdlike, some have wings, all can lift around a tonne, and they have much more stamina than a normal human. The Kree have hollow bones, and as such are quite fragile to blunt force.

The Kree are blue humans, they are a lot stronger all around that humans, however they breathe Nitrogen, and as such cannot survive in Earth atmosphere without a breathing formula or some kind of gas mask. There are also Pink Kree that are a lot stronger however are not as powerful (politically) as their blue brethren on their home planet. The Kree are very militaristic.

This is a the "Super Skrull" a genetically modified Skrull with the powers of the Fantastic Four, this is just a rough idea of what a Skrull looks like. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9e/Annihilation004_SKRULL_scaled_800.png

However, due to their upbringing I have decided that full Skrulls would be impossible to roleplay, so half skrulls will have to do.

A half-Skrull is very strong, and durable, they look like a human, but green, and may have Skrull ears and lines. Skrull themselves have no powers out of the ordinary, but if you want to throw in some backstory about being the son of a Super Skrull, that works.

All the above races have advanced technology, included lasers, cloaking, cybernetics, cyborg technology, etc, and the Kree have psionic (basically psychic powers) technology.

IronRuler, about your sheet. First and foremost, I love the character, but could you maybe add something to it? I mean to me he's just a highly trained combat hacker/engineer. It's accepted regardless, but it feels a little incomplete.

Ok then I'll see what's avalible and might produce a new sheet but for now I'll withdraw my interest.

OK let me try...

What c'ya think?, Buzz me if you want me to change anything.

At first I thought of the same thing, but it seems too much to pack into once character.
A soldier, A hacker AND a mutant? It's like the Batman Syndrome some people suffer from - A millionare, A martial arts specialist, A detective, a crime fighter, A businesman...
You see where I'm going with this?
I do want to note that he can walk with one eye focused on operating machinery, like setting off cars and making them drive on their own towards his enemy, exploding electrical boxes, using radio antennas to explode the heads of everyone in the vicinity, etc. and the other eye on the target, in the real world. He could have his glove on his left hand and his glock on his right, fighting with bullets and technology.

May I ask what the synopsis to this RP is? I know we are in a team but what is the situation? Are we on Utopia (comic) or under threat by the sentinel etc? Is the speedball special referring to Colossus throwing ability?
Other than that I'm interested.

Interested...I'll submit something soon.

Sorry for the wait, got busy with halloween and didn't have time to type it up. Finally finished though.

Hopefully it's good enough but if not, i'll change a few things.

TheIronRuler:

Thanks for the advice, went with G, not one hundred percent but I think Newton was already a hero's name though I could be thinking of their actual name not hero name.

Ok, so like I said earlier, we're staying away from the mainstream as possible. We're still centred at Prof-X's school, Magneto is still a bad guy (but I'll make up some villains for us for the most part). We'll be staying away from the original X-Men for the most part, except for passing mentions. We are a team put together of newly found mutants from various backgrounds. We are a unique team, allowing Mutates along with Mutants. Our team's mission is to protect the school from all threats, whether immediate or not. This includes fighting rogue mutants, recruiting mutants, and defending the school.

Diablo, Scarim and Mind, your sheets are all accepted. Mind, if you could message me with more specifics about your power that would be appreciated. It sounds great, but I'd just like to know a little more about it.
Diablo, if you want to discover one of the "hidden weapons" mentioned in your sheet, please message me first. Again, a great idea, but I just want to make sure you're not to powerful.

I will be closing off applications on Friday. That is all.

IronRuler, that little bit of extra information makes your character sheet fine. I didn't quite understand what you meant. Thanks.

Name: Eli Rook

Nationality: N/A

Alias: Scribe

Race: Mutant
Age: 16

Height/Weight: He is about 5'9 and 125 lb.

Powers: He has a way with words. By that I mean he can use words like weapons and tools. If he yells "Shock" at you, will feel like you have been zapped by electricity and if he were to write down "Die" and make you look at it, you would kill yourself as fast as possible.

Talents: He is very smart for his age, and he was once described as "...[having] the brain power and thought capacity of a 60 year old man." by someone he refuses to talk about. And he reads a lot so he has a large vocabulary.

Weakness: His powers are only sure-fire when he writes down the thing and shows it to you, which is usually not as available of an option as he would like. When he uses his voice to make his powers work, he can only do less complicated things like "shock". Also, his vocal powers rely on may factors, such as the volume of his voice, the strength of will behind it, and possibly most importantly, what he means. If he says ""shock" but he isn't thinking clearly, he may just cause the target to be surprised, or if he says "stop" they may only pause for a moment, or only stop doing a certain thing (provided they are doing more than one thing at a time, like running while shooting). This area of weakness is also affected by the previously mentioned factors (volume etc.).

Weapons: Eli keeps a small mechanical pencil handy at all times and a few pieces of paper. (might also count as equipment)

Equipment: the paper and pencil.

Appearance: Eli is Caucasian and sort of pale with a slender build, despite all the junk food he eats. He keeps his dark brown hair cut into basically a buzz cut, has green eyes and lanky limbs. He doesn't have any facial hair (despite his opinion that he could make a thin beard or a goatee look good). In general he isn't particularly handsome (though if h=you ask him, he can look pretty sweet at times) but he isn't ugly, just kind of average.

Clothing: His preferred outfit is blue-genes, sneakers, some kind of T-shirt, and depending on the weather, his green wool coat that he likes to call a "Silent Bob coat" (look it up) due to it looking similar to said coat. He is also very fond of his black hat, which is kind of like a smaller, more casual version of a fedora (which he doesn't know the name for but doesn't think it is a trilby). When he is in the right mood, he has a soft spot in his heart for "snazzy" type clothes. Things like a black suit and pants with a grey shirt and red tie, you know, gangster type stuff (Al Capone "Gangster", not 50 Cent "Gangstuh").

Costume: He thinks big flashy outfits like the Fantastic 4's leotards are pointless and would rather just wear comfortable effective clothes.

General Bio: Eli was born on a "private" vessel in international waters from the womb of a mutant mother who was a volunteer for the Weapon-X project, made pregnant by artificial insemination, supplied by a male mutant within the project. The mother was released with a stack of Benjamins and she turned her son over to the scientists. They then turned Eli over to a foster family in New Orleans where he was monitored until the age of six. The people at Weapon-X had learned much about the development process of mutant powers and were ready to "collect their specimen", until their plans went very wrong. They ment to get him in his sleep, then drug him so he couldn't focus his power when he woke up, but as the agents snuck upstairs to his room, he heard a voice in his dream telling him to wake up. He was getting out of bed when the men came into his room, and he isn't quite sure what happened next, but by the time he was leaving through the backdoor one of the men had run away, the second had been shot in the head, and the third was found unconscious with the murder weapon in hand. Since then Eli has travelled the country a lot, mixing in with the mutant underground, before he was lead to Prof. X's school by a voice in his head.
