"Good deal. Hey, there any food around here?" Brad asked, looking around for someone who worked in the building. "I kinda maybe forgot to eat breakfast."

"You too, huh?" Zan asked the guy wanting breakfast. "I was asleep when they came to get me. Name's Zan, by the way."

"Zan? Hey, dude, I'm Brad," he introduced. "Yeah, I was going food shopping, which is a lot more fun when you're hungry, when I got picked up by the suits. Heroes work better on a full stomach."

"That's true, but I doubt they'll be offering us food any time soon." Matt stepped forward "nice to meet you! I'm Matt. My power is kind of difficult to explain so I'd rather wait till later to show it around." He grinned, everyone here pretty much seemed nice, and positive too.

"Nice to meet you, Brad, Matt. My power is pretty simple. I can make and control electromagnetic waves." At least it seemed that everyone was alright with the assignment, and it looked like working with the team wouldn't be too bad.

Felan looked at the guy that had just sat down, the man hadn't even introduced himself to the room.

"Who are you?" Felan addressed the man, "All of us, except you have introduced ourselves and what we do, but not you. So who exactly are you?"

Something awoke Pierre from his rest. He looked up to see someone looking at him. "So who exactly are you?" he said.

"Me?" he answered, "My name's Pierre. I imagine I was brought here like everyone else in this room, by a man in a black suit in a black car," he continued as he stood up from the chair.

"Yeah, a bunch of guys in black met me outside my place. Decent dudes, they got me lunch before i got here. made me feel bad about almost using my powers on them."

He then turned to Pierre who just stood up "Pierre, vous parlez bien français? Je suis toujours moi-même l'apprentissage et sa ne va pas trop bien?"

"More like a trio of men, watching me swim in a pair of skintight training briefs without deciding to interrupt me. I still don't know how long they were there watching me. I'm actually feel a little flattered about it."

Felan listened in on the french and winced. It was understandable, but fairly mangled. He wasn't going to try and correct him, Felan could understand it fairly well, but when it came to speaking it, well he probably wouldn't do much better.

"Uhh, sorry, I don't speak French, as my name would imply. I never had a chance to learn it," Pierre replied to one of the ESPers. "So what can you two do, and what are your names?"

"Likewise, Matt," Brad replied, looking at Zan as an idea popped into his head. "Hey, dude, can EM fields push things away? Cause if they can, I could totally make some metal stuff for you to shoot at bad guys."

Zan was happy for the enthusiasm, but his maximum power was several orders of magnitude too small for such a thing. "Sorry to say, but it doesn't quite work like that. I basically just shoot light."

"Not to mention that the object would have to be charged in order for any push to happen. Anyways," Felan addressed Pierre, "I'm Felan, and I self enhance my senses. As for him, well I can't really remember his name, it's a tad complicated, but he's the local strongman/Hulk sorta guy." He turned Okonkwo, " Je suis parler un peu de Francais. Je suis Canadien, c'était donc un partie de ma scolarité."

"Interesting," replied Pierre to Felan. "I can detect any heat source or change in heat within a large area." This might not be so bad, thought Pierre.

"Its pronounced oh-CON-quo but you all can just call me Kon. My parents are both Nigerian hence the name no one can place."

Okonkwo herd Felan and understood something about France, Canada, and either school or Scotland.

"I love Canada, i spent some time there doing pro-bono work translating for Mexican neighborhoods a ways back. good people."

shifting his suit a little, he tried to loose the professional vibe he feared giving off.

"If you need to shoot things at people just get within arm's reach and I can throw you at them. I ate a big meal before i got here but beast mode is kind of draining. I hope Brad can change sticks into steak."

"Well, dude, it was worth a shot. It's just cool hearing about other powers out there. I mean, I like mine, but it kinda just helps out skills you have, you know? Like, I gotta know how to use what I make, can't just whip up an auto-targeting shotgun of doom or something." Hearing mention of his name, he turned to Kon.

"Steaks are tricky, but I'm working on it. Breaking down is easy, but I gotta know everything down to the elements that make up all the proteins and stuff to make animal tissue. It's dumb, I can turn stuff into pure gold, but I can't make a freaking steak."

With everyone else talking amongst each other, Pierre quietly slipped off into his chair and, once again, tried to get some shut-eye and forget about everything else.

"Alright Kon, I just said that I speak a little bit of French. It's required part of the curriculum up in Canada, and they really pressure you to learn it in Ottawa, being on the Quebec border and all. As for shooting things, I'm a sharpshooter, so rifles and such, so no need to throw me at them. I'll be on the back lines more likely than not. When your ability is more or less increasing the intensity of the senses, experiencing nociception is not a fun thing. Last time that it happened, I cracked a finger against the pool side and I was unconscious from the pain for a good two hours."

Felan shuddered from the memory and turned off his power. Everything always seemed duller whenever it was off, like colour being drained out of a painting.

Alice was getting tired of standing. She grabbed another empty chair in the main entrance area and sat down. She began to flick her lighter open and shut again as she listened to everyone talk and waited to see what would happen next.

Herr Sand-Xu:

OOC: RL before RP, handle the essay, then post.

Nat couldn't help but laugh a little at that. The grammar wasn't bad but the pronunciation was just silly. She tried to stop herself when she realised she was being louder than she should have (please don't be too late).
She rapidly flicked from person to person trying to tell if they'd heard her or not. She probably could have been more careful thinking about it might have been noticed. Then again they'd hardly realise the head ach was her.

Felan felt a headache coming on. That was odd, typically the power-caused headaches only occurred after he turned off his power due to sensory overload. He caught her laugh. He looked at the girl.

"What's so amusing Ms. Natalie? I didn't hear a joke pass."

"Oh nothing! I was just remembering something else."
That probably wasn't enough. But it was all she could think of when on the spot.
Maybe she could distract.
"Are you ok? You look like you in some pain?"

Zan heard some laughing, and his head began hurting. Figuring his headache was just from it being early, he looked around to see who was laughing. Oh hey, that Natalie girl's here too. Small world. No one else seemed that familiar, though. Zan sat down finally, idly wondering when the formal meeting would begin.

"Yeah, a bit of a headache. Normally I only get them when I experience sensory overload and I have to turn off my power. You don't happen to have any ibuprofen here do you? I didn't bring mine from home." As Felan rubbed his head he had a flash of insight and suspicion. "What did you say your power was again?"

Alice glanced up from her lighter at Felan's mention of a headache. She had felt a small one but she had ignored it while playing with her lighter. Alice wondered if it was only coincidence. She pretended to not be looking at them or paying attention as she listened to the conversation. While doing this she started absent-mindedly sticking her finger in and out of the now open lighter, barely noticing the heat.

Pierre half-heard Felan's mention of a headache, and became intrigued. He pretended to sleep, but kept himself awake to eavesdrop on the conversation.

Thinking the minor headache was caused by his slowly growing hunger, Brad took an open seat and began muttering one of his favorite recipes to himself, hoping it'd be a good enough distraction.

"Three carbon, five hydrogen, three nitrogen, nine oxygen. Carbon: six protons, neutrons, and electrons. Hydrogen..."

"Oh it wasn't much, just mildly psychic."
As long as Zan didn't speak out that should suffice.

Well, naturally, when Zan heard that he figured he should comment. "'Mildly' undersells your ability, Natalie." Any hypocrisy in him saying that escaped Zan.

Matt thought he'd break the awkward chatter. "So, who wants to see live demonstrations of everyone's powers? I think there's a special hall for that kind of thing, or at least that's what I remember when I came here last".

"I won't be doing much showing off, but I'm down," Brad replied, getting on his feet. "I mean, unless there's a lot of cheap stuff in that hall for me to mess with."

"Sure why not. Though it's not like my ability has any external effect on the environment." Ben paused, "Are you the person putting this whole league thing together Matt? You seem to have more information than the rest of us about the whole situation."

Okonkwo smiled if they want a demonstration, i'll give em something to oggle at.

Increasing his lung copasity, Okonkwo bellowed with ear shattering force. he then lept into the air, ascending like a rocket and leaving a large hole in the roof.

after landing outside with an audible thud he reappeared in the room. in a 6'4 hole where the wall once stood beaming like a proud little kid.

"I can do flips too, but those aren't as cool. anyone got some food?"
