Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s Female Lombax Will Be Playable

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has a new female Lombax character, and she will be featured as a playable character when the game launches on PlayStation 5. Though speculation had led many to believe this already, Insomniac Games confirmed the news on Twitter in a recent post. The studio still hasn’t shared the mysterious character’s name just yet.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will see players hopping through what seem to be dozens of dimensional tears throughout the course of the game. Judging by the footage shown during the PlayStation 5 reveal and the name of the game itself, players will probably take control of the mystery female Lombax when Ratchet and Clank are separated between rifts. How much time players will spend in the shoes of the new character, among many other things, is still unclear.

Insomniac was one of the biggest names to take the stage during Sony’s PlayStation 5 presentation. The Sony-owned studio unveiled both Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a standalone adventure spinning out of PlayStation 4’s Spider-Man. The games served as two of the biggest reveals shown during the presentation, with Miles Morales planned to launch before the year is out.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has no release date yet but is planned to launch on PlayStation 5.
