Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two Brings Back Fan Favorites

Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced what’s coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two. Longtime fans will find a lot to appreciate in the Season Two reveal trailer, starting with the return of fan-favorite character Ghost. Starting tomorrow, Feb. 11, Ghost will return to the franchise as an Operator, bringing with him multiplayer map Rust, another Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 staple. Other day-one free maps include supermarket multiplayer map Atlas Superstore, Ground War map Zhokov Boneyard, and Gunfight map Bazaar. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players will also receive the weapons Striker 45 and the Grau 5.56 along with two new multiplayer modes: Gunfight Tournaments and Call of Duty League Ruleset Playlist.

But wait, there’s more! Everything listed above only encompasses content dropping day one, as Infinity Ward and Activision detailed in a blog post that they have plenty more planned as Season Two continues to roll out. Mid-season multiplayer map Khandor Hideout has already been teased for the future, along with some new and returning modes, including Demolition, Infected Ground War, and NVG Reinforce. Two more operators — Talon and Mace — are promised to come later as well. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare studio promises additional modes and a new classified weapon to roll out as the season continues.

To help players progress as this next chapter unfolds, the game is getting new solo Trials called Race, Pitcher, Gun Course 3.0, and Clear the Area 2.0 on launch day. Of course, with these Trials also comes new missions, too.

This onslaught of free content is part of Activision’s plans to incorporate the game’s free and premium Battle Pass options that did away with paid DLC of the past.
