Kenneth polarized his visor as a HUD startup sequence began. Shields at 100%, sensors are green... Let's go.

Since his armor wasn't the standard issue of the Alliance, he had some personal upgrades to it. Like a music player that he always listened to. He looked on the side seeing the music play list pop onto the HUD.

Ikuzo.. He thought to himself, double checking on his Mattock and Eviscerator. Seeing them up and ready, he walked over to the Warthog that he would be driving. This thing better not drive like a Mako with flimsy armor....

Sarah had broken off from the group after practice, she preferred to be alone just before a mission, it helped clear her head. To that end she was leaning against a stack of crates.

"You know, I tend to block out everything that isn't mission related until I come home."

"Which is what i was doing actually" She said with out really moving "I'll be fine, I am a Spartan after all, spent to much time training to take any mission lightly" Murphy sitting on a crate next to her as she finished.

"After we're done with the mission I'll focus on all of the romantic stuff like bringing you the fake flowers I stole from the officer's lounge. I promise."

Sarah raised an eyebrow under her helm at this "Oh?" her hidden expression turning to a smirk "That's sweet but I've never been into flowers." She said, leaving it there for him to wonder about.

Everett was over at the ammunition refill after the Banshee practice was over. It looked as though that himself, Murphy and Sarah had picked up on the procedures rather quickly. He hadn't had all that much experience piloting one, accept one time for an infiltration mission; apart from that though, he was relatively new to it. All in all he felt pleased. Sarah had broken away from the group and was leaning against some nearby crates.

"You know, I tend to block out everything that isn't mission related until I come home." Murphy said as he joined Sarah.

"Which is what i was doing actually." Sarah said with out really moving "I'll be fine, I am a Spartan after all, spent to much time training to take any mission lightly." Murphy sitting on a crate next to her as she finished.

"That's good advice Murphy, with a clear and focused mind, you'll find it easier to accomplish an objective. Having other thoughts cloud your mind may cause problems at the wrong moment." Everett said as he turned to face the pair.

"After we're done with the mission I'll focus on all of the romantic stuff like bringing you the fake flowers I stole from the officer's lounge. I promise." Murphy said as he sat on top of the crates.

"Oh? That's sweet but I've never been into flowers."

"Oh really Murphy? Who is to say that your not the only one vying for her affections? Don't mean to be rude, but a lot of guys around here would find you rather attractive Sarah. By the way, your new armour colour suits you, much better than the traditional Spartan green." Everett then remarked, a smirk forming underneath his helmet as he loaded a fresh clip into his pistol.

"Say, here is an idea, how about once this mission is over, the three of us grab a drink and just kick back for a while."

JASTIS-015

They got into the Banshee's; they rose up, and flew out of the Broken Destiny. It was now midday and foggy out but that wouldn't hamper the enemies. It would take an hour or so until they arrived, they went in low to be under the radars. When the town was in sight they dropped down lower and stopped in a rocky area. Now they would continue on foot. Slowly they moved in and closer keeping their eyes on the tango's in the distance. The town was large and the shadow of the large rocks to the west rested down on the town. It was easy to see them having moved in. They crossed over various small walls and checkpoints. There was a soldier watching a set of stairs to a top of a building where they could get a better look at everything.

Jastis went invisible and moved closely to an enemy, he took his combat knife and stabbed the soldier and carried them away so they couldn't be found. He looked at Mee, "Let's go."

The sangheili nodded and engaged her active camo. She moved up to the stairs and made her way to the top of the roof silently. She crawled along the roof,, cloaked as to decrease her chances of being spotted. Once giving a quick look around, she I cloaked and gave a hand signal for the Spartan to move up as well. Next, Mee set up in a concealed position on the roof and had taken her rifle out. She began to sweep the area and attempted to commit the layout and enemy positions to memory.

Luna had simply gotten into her needed position and was waiting, feeling horrible for putting Sarah through that. After this mission, she would vow to not put anyone through that again. But now she needed to get her shit together and prepare herself for the impending mission.

"By the way, your new armour colour suits you, much better than the traditional Spartan green."

"Thank you, I thought so to actually, though probably should have gone for less 'badass' and more 'battle field functional', but eh, I like this better" Sarah said with a shrug, then perked, "Oh, check this out" she said pulling out her Energy Sword and turning it on, the red blades forming and humming, "Apparently there was a Geth helping with the recolor, one with an artistic side, since it went out of its way to make my sword match my visor." Sarah looked at her sword, and started getting ideas, but she deactivated her sword and put it back.

"Anyway, fight over me later, we have a mission to accomplish first"

"Anyway, fight over me later, we have a mission to accomplish first"

"Who says I'm interested in fighting over you?" Murphy replied, putting his fist up in Everett's direction. "Jest put yer dukes yup, Aye laik fiatin" he said, laughing.

Sobering slightly, he looked at his watch.

"But you are correct, Sarah, we do have a mission to focus on. We'll be going over water, so make sure you have your sharkbait on you." He said, holding out a little green tube.

Those tiny tubes were both killers and lifesavers, containing a highly compact flotation device, as well as green chemical smoke that alerted SAR vehicles to the wearer's location. The downside was that it often alerted the enemy as well.

Murphy clipped a HUD viewfinder to the side of his sunglasses and turned it on, checking to see that it worked. He hated the thing, it obscured his vision too much. But it helped when we needed to locate friendlies, so he still carried one. He could never bring himself to wear the full helmet. It was like putting on blinders and then being told to go fight. He flipped on his radio and pulled his headset off his neck and up into position. Only his left ear was covered with a small speaker that didn't obstruct his hearing much, another advantage over the helmet. A mic projected around from the speaker and rested in front of Murphy's mouth.

Keying his hockey puck, he sent out a radio test. "TOC, this Blue 2. Radio check, over."

A moment later his headset crackled to life. "Blue 2, TOC. Check is good, over."

With that he flipped on his red dot, making sure that it hit the glass properly, and sat down, waiting.

"Thank you, I thought so to actually, though probably should have gone for less 'Badass' and more 'Battlefield Functional', but eh, I like this better." Sarah said with a shrug, then perked up a bit, as if remembering something. "Oh, check this out." She said, pulling out her Energy Sword and activating it; but instead of the traditional blue, the blades had a red colour. "Apparently there was a Geth helping with the recolour, one with an artistic side, since it went out of its way to make my sword match my visor." Sarah then looked at her sword again, but she soon deactivated it and returned it to its place.

"Anyway, fight over me later, we have a mission to accomplish first."

"Who says I'm interested in fighting over you?" Murphy replied, putting his fist up in Everett's direction. "Jest put yer dukes yup, Aye laik fiatin." he said, laughing.

"And who says I was fighting as well? Perhaps I was just complimenting a lady with regards to her attire." Everett remarked to the pair of them, stating his original intent, for now at the very least.

"But you are correct, Sarah, we do have a mission to focus on. We'll be going over water, so make sure you have your shark bait on you." He said, holding out a little green tube. Upon seeing them, Everett knew what they were for, fortunately, he hadn't had the opportunity to use them, given most missions he was in-land.

"Yeah, those will be useful if we get shot down. Lets just hope that the enemy doesn't see the smoke." Everett then noticed Murphy equipping himself with items that would help him see where he was going, and who to shoot. He remembered that a few months ago, he had his helmet modified so some of the parts could be made removable in the event that they were damaged, or if it became too cumbersome to wear.

After a a minute or so, most of the front of Everett's helmet was removed and stored, meaning his field of vision was wider, and noises were easier to pick up now.

"Ah, thats more comfortable now."

JASTIS-015

They got into position on top of the building and both were using active cameo. He was able to zoom with his visor and using VSIR 4.0 he was able to see through the fog that was settling in. The Spartan was able to see the compound and the movement of all of the enemies. However he didn't see any of the objectives. Jastis signaled for Mee to follow, they were going to move across the roofs. A drop ship flew overhead and they prone into cover to not be spotted. It landed below on the ground on a landing pad and he was able to get a look at them.

His HUD zoomed in again and he was able to see who arrived. There was a man in a dark cloak, odd to see in such a setting. He was able to hear their voices through his speakers. "Is the plan going?" the Cloaked man spoke.

"Yes," the cloaked man began to walk with another, they were going towards the compound, "We know they will be here-" he could no longer hear anymore as they went inside. This piqued his interest.

He turned to Mee, "We now have another objective, to record their conversation. We need to get inside the building; I see a way to get inside. Follow me."

Murphy folded out his map pouch and pulled his map tablet. Beneath it were hard copies of the map, just in case the tablet was ever damaged.

He zoomed in on the area that housed the compound and saw the beacons for Jastis and Mee were danger close to the compound and getting closer. Murphy checked to see if the atmosphere was giving a false location, but there was no issue.

"Ev, Sarah, get your maps out. We might have a problem." He said as he started walking towards the control center on the far side of the hangar, motioning for Everett and Sarah to follow. The map there confirmed that Red Team was, in fact, proceeding into the compound.

"Shit."

Murphy started looking at all of the plans, finding new ways of entry.

"If they've been captured, this is going to be one hell of a shitstorm."

Eyes never leaving the map, he keyed his hockey puck.

"Romeo Actual, this is Blue Two. Requesting SITREP, over."

Murphy released the button, praying for a response from Jastis.

Sarah watched the dots on the screen "I doubt they've been captured, we'd have heard something" she said, but was still waiting for a reply from Red team

JASTIS-015

Jastis got on the secure COM channels, but first responded to Murphy, "Romeo Actual here, everything is fine and all is proceeding as planned."

Then he proceeded to ask the Captain, "Broken Destiny, this is Romeo Actual, an unidentified individual has landed. Clear to record their conversation to gather Intel as a secondary objective. Over."

Captain Nassa responded back, "Romeo Actual, you may proceed with the secondary objective but keep the main objective a top priority. Broken Destiny out."

He gave the clear to Mee that it would be a secondary objective. They moved through the roof tops silently, taking out patrols quickly and silently. The two of them were able to climb in through a window into the main building. On a catwalk above, there are no patrols, looking down he was able to see the two men who had been talking before. He began to record.

"Excellent, everyone is ready correct? I don't want them sneaking up on us," the hooded man spoke.

The other man nodded, "Yes, we have patrols everywhere, AA's up, and our radar isn't being jammed. We have detected nothing yet and we have been watching 24/7."

The cloaked man seemed pleased, "How go the prisoners? I assumed you killed most of the civilians and just kept the important ones."

"They're held up tight with the top security. The bodies of the civilians have been burned a mile off from here."

"Good- good, we can't let this fail. You know what the boss will do if we fail."

They kept serious, "If we live through this, probably kill us himself. After the failed attempt to make a Husk army, we have no choice but to succeed here. We need this new tech if we're going to overthrow the Citadel and start a better, new era."

"Exactly, to a new era."

"To a new era."

Jastis immediately contacted the Broken Destiny, "Broken Destiny, this is Romeo Actual; we have discovered that this unknown faction are waiting for us. Apparently they want to get our tech and stomp out the Citadel Council. We now are moving to find the location of the main objective. Out"

They were done recording and they moved across the cat walks in the main building, they moved up stairs that went up the building. At the top of the stairs they came up into a large room with a couple of tangos walking about and some working on computers. Quickly they moved across and took each of them and secured the room without making a noise and hid the bodies. It didn't matter much, even if they did find the bodies, the other squads would move in and stealth would be out of the question. Jastis went up to one of the consoles and began to work. It was already logged in so he simply accesses the map data on the network and downloaded it to his armor.

He now had the schematics for the entire town down to every building and room. Also on the console after a bit of time he was able to find the location of the hostages. They were in the underground complex under this building that had various entrances throughout the town. "Broken Destiny, this is Romeo Actual, we have the Intel on the town and the location of the hostages. Over."

Sarah sighed as Jastis's first report "You know, I hate being right some times...." She said, mostly to Murphy and Everett, then sighed "So they know we're coming, and think they're ready for us eh? I'm going to look forward to beating some respect for the UNSC into the idiots." Her tone and posture changed as she spoke, growing more hostile at the end.

a short time later Jastis's voice came over the com again with a second report "This is Blue Actual, Copy that Romeo Actual, any data on patrol routs? I don't want them to know we're there till it's to late"

JASTIS-015

He responded back to the Spartan-IV, "I have all of the data on all of the patrols in real time. We can use this to outsmart them. Do you wish for us to meet your teams at the edge of the town or hold our position?"

Sarah thought a moment before replying "Have you confirmed the position of the Enemy Leader?"

JASTIS-015

"Negative, it appears his data is not on the network. In fact, based on what the unknown persons of interest said, this groups leader is off world. Even the one leading this operation isn't on the data, only the patrols. One would think they would have just removed everyone's position in case of a hack."

'Of course' Sarah thought. "Unless the Patrol data is fake, they knew we where coming after all" She gave the next order a bit of thought "What do you think Murphy? I'm inclined have then fall back, but I also want to know if that Data is good or not"

"What do you think Murphy? I'm inclined have then fall back, but I also want to know if that Data is good or not"

Murphy was relieved that Jastis and Mee were still alive.

"Have them fall back into an overwatch position and see if they can get eyes on the Ack Ack."

He stepped back, studying the map and weighing their options.

"If we can pass under radar, we still stand a chance." Murphy pointed to the ring of mountains around the city, and that provided the rear defense for the compound. "If we can land on the backside, make our way over, then rappel down into the compound at night, that's our best chance for surviving this."

His fingers tapped lightly against his rifle, the only indication that anyone would ever have of his true feelings: he was scared.

"If they know we're coming, we're going to be headed into a booby-trap nightmare. Light feet and frosty breath."

Murphy tapped the updated OPPLAN into his tablet and started off towards the TOC to speak with Nassa.

"Everett, grab all the climbing rope you can find. If this gets greenlit, we're going to have Irene in less than twenty minutes."

Moments later Murphy stood in the TOC, with Captain Nassa looking over the updated OPPLAN.

"Captain, request permission to pass the new OPPLAN along as a general order."

"Fall back to an Over Watch position, but also see what Intel you can get on the AA as well." Sarah said as Murphy went to work coming up with a new plan.

"Everett, grab all the climbing rope you can find. If this gets greenlit, we're going to have Irene in less than twenty minutes."

"I'll give Evertt a hand" Sarah said as Murphy left to get his new plan proved

"Everett, grab all the climbing rope you can find. If this gets green lit, we're going to have Irene in less than twenty minutes." Murphy ordered whilst conversing with Jastis who was planet side along with Mee.

"Roger that Murphy, best get a move on then." Everett said as he stowed his gun away, and made his way over to the storage area.

"I'll give Everett a hand." Sarah said as she joined him.

"Glad to have the help Sarah." Everett said in response, happy to have the help. They soon arrived over at the storage area, where all sorts of various equipment lay. After checking through several chests, they found the stuff that was needed. Everett then pointed to a chest that was next to the one he was opening.

"If you can get that one opened up Sarah, that should give us more than enough climbing rope; along with the stuff we'll need to attach it to our armour."

Sarah dug around the boxes, pulling out the climbing gear they'd needs for the revised Operation
"If you can get that one opened up Sarah, that should give us more than enough climbing rope; along with the stuff we'll need to attach it to our armour."

Sarah looked to the buried box he was pointing to and began to clear the boxes on top of it, and not long after she had it cleared and open "Alright, what else we need? Or we good now?"

"Alright, what else we need? Or we good now?" Sarah asked as the pair of them searched through the equipment chests.

"I think we are pretty much good to go now Sarah, with these harness attachments for our armour, we should be able to glide down the rope smoothly and most important, quietly. We should probably get back to Murphy, no doubt we'll be setting off soon. Unless of course your looking for something else." Everett said as he tidied up the storage chests.

Sarah tossed the ropes over her shoulder "Nah, lets go, if we need anything else he'll likely know" she said as she started back toward the hanger they where waiting at.

Captain Nassa

She looked quickly over the data and read what Murphy put forth and then responded to him, "I give you permission Murphy. Make it so."

"I give you permission Murphy. Make it so." Nassa responded.

"Aye, Aye, Captain." Murphy turned on the ball of his foot as he said this, marching out of the TOC as quickly as he came in.

Hitting the flight deck, Murphy was all business.

"Alright, everybody get your dicks out of your hands and gather up. Same target, slightly different plan." He looked as the teams gathered up, listening to the new plan. " They know we're coming."

Murphy let that sink in for a moment. They were truly walking into a soldier's worst nightmare.

"Orders still stand, and we have objectives to accomplish. We're hitting the backside of the mountain and crossing over. Romeo is going to find us an LZ as we go. When night hits, we rappel into the compound, same OPPLAN as before, with two additional objectives."

Murphy could feel the mood shift. Great, more shit to do.

"Firstly, we have a new house guest who landed a few hours ago. Whoever finds him gets to keep him. We want him back here, on this ship, alive. Secondly, Blue team will detach to dispatch some of the Anti-Aircraft installments so that Lt. Kenshi and company won't find their nuts where their eyeballs should be."

Murphy saw Everett and Sarah with climbing rope and gear.

"Alright, get your climbing gear from Everett or Sarah and let's get the fuck out of here. We lift off in fifteen mikes. HOORAH!"

Sarah started handing gear out, saving a set for her self.

Murphy grabbed a set of gear, then headed to the Banshees. The red strobe light was circling overhead, giving the five-minute warning, and an automated voice came over PA system.

"Five minutes until hangar doors are cleared. Five minutes until hangar doors are cleared."

Murphy sat on the runner of his team's Banshee, clipping his rope to his rig. In what seemed like no time at all and all the time in the world, the hangar doors opened and they took off.

The air was crisp, coming off the ocean in a sharp wind. Below them the ocean rolled peacefully as birds circled, looking for fish. It was saccharine view, and the weapons of war flying overhead seemed out of place in such a beautiful world. The Banshees dipped low and banked left, circling to the backside of the jagged peaks that housed the city they were about to raid.

Sarah was right behind Murphy, and clipped in on the other side.

She wasn't really paying attention to the view, she couldn't feel the breeze through her armor ether, she was more concentrated on the mission at hand. Sarah just waited, ready to to start.

JASTIS-015

With their orders, they moved out, they needed to get to an over watch position and see if they could spot the AA guns. They left the room staying in the shadows of the fog. Jastis pulled out his combat knife and jumped down on top of an enemy and stabbed them cleanly in the neck before they could make any noise or sound off. Once the body was disposed they made their way through the town using the map they had acquired.

Using the town map they were able to get to a good spot in the town, a high up spot that allowed them to see with the VSIR through the fog. They spotted and tagged both of the AA guns and saw where they could be taken down through console or explosives.

Everett followed on behind Murphy and Sarah after he finished handing out spare climbing gear to other groups, remembering to save a set for himself. He soon got himself set in on the right hand side of the modified Banshee as the five minute warning came into effect; soon after, they set out for the city. As the jagged peaks that protected the city along one of its sides came into view, two markers appeared on the VISR.

"It appears that Jastis and Mee have found the AA guns, that is definitely good news."

"It appears that Jastis and Mee have found the AA guns, that is definitely good news."

"Good, Getting shot down would make me, 'cranky', to say the least" Sarah said "And a cranky Spartan is one that's not fun to be around"

"Good, Getting shot down would make me, 'cranky', to say the least" Sarah said "And a cranky Spartan is one that's not fun to be around"

"As long as the pilot stays low, we'll be alright." Murphy said.

The banshee dipped lower and skimmed just above the waves as they approached the mountain face. Suddenly the craft lifted and they soared upwards. A ledge became highlighted on the HUD display as they approached. The banshee hovered over the ledge and the squad jumped off, quickly securing themselves to the side of the cliff. Across the mountain's face there were similar sights as banshees deposited the operators.

Making sure his line was secure, Murphy motioned to Sarah that he was going up, then started climbing.

It's gonna be a long day. He thought to himself.

Sarah followed Murphy up the rock face.

"You know, All things considered, its not a bad view up here" Sarah said as she looked out over, everything while she waited for Murphy to tap an anchor into the side of the mountain

Murphy tapped the anchor in and threaded the rope through.

"You know, All things considered, its not a bad view up here"

Murphy looked around. Sarah was right. Under any other circumstances this would be a great getaway and and a challenging, but rigorous climb.

"Yeah, it's not bad. Maybe I'll come back here on vacation someday."

With that, Murphy headed up the mountain face again, hoping that the end of the climb was nearing, but knowing that they had a long ways to go.

Sarah follow Murphy up the cliff face, and as good as the view was, she was really ready to be down with the climbing long before they reached the top.

When the group reached the top she turned and helped Everett up then started toward the site they would be repelling down at a hurried pace. Upon reaching the site, she stopped and scanned the decent area to make sure it was clear before tapping in and heading down.
