Zane groaned, reinforcements had shown up and the leader of the group had pulled out some kind of big bird. "Zubat! Supersonic on that bird! Get it too confused to attack!" His Zubat responded, using his ultrasonic screech to try and confuse the bird. It worked! The dastardly avian veered off suddenly and flew up, smacking it's head in to the ceiling. Zane laughed triumphantly. "Well done!! Now, leech it's life away!" Zubat flew at the hovering confused bird to finish it off.. "Pidgeotto! Wing attack!" Suddenly the bird (A Pidgeotto?) seemed to snap out of it's confusion. It didn't even look that hurt... Just angry. It's wing lashed out and slammed into Zane's damaged Zubat, knocking it to the ground. Silenced and stunned, Zane returned it to it's Pokeball.
Kuro decides to stick with his plan.
The leader of the guards and one of his men both turned in surprise. "It's just a kid Sam, I'll talk to him." said the lower ranked guard as the other continued working on the emergency equipment. "Don't worry kid, we'll get the tower back under control. And we'll get these Rockets out of our city someday soon! According to Douglas, they've got them all surrounded some twelve floors below. You're safe." he said, smiling.
"T-that's a relief... I think they nearly found me at some point... His plan seemed to be working, he might be able to get some information out of these guards.
"I wouldn't know. A lot of rich people work and live here. It's mainly the sa-" he said, stopping himself. "Let's just say there is a lot of money on the property and the people who own it don't want it stolen. Say, who are you anyway?"
"M-My name is Daniel..."
"Where'd you come from? Did the Rockets see you?" said the guard, concerned. If they came up here before the police were called... "Better hurry boss." "What the hell do you think I'm trying to do here?" said Sam, irritated.
"I w-was playing hide and seek in the building...
"Aren't you a little old to be playi-" "It's working!" said Sam, hitting the machine triumphantly. There was static but there was a voice calling out through it. The other two guards turned to look at it and to try to help. "Adjust the frequency up a bit." "I'll move the antennae." The radio began to get clearer. "...repeat Oak Suite, we are getting a trans... ...this is... ...nny speaking..." Sam swore. "Barely getting any reception and we can't send." All the guards concentrated on the radio, forgetting about the kid standing near the stairs.
Kuro knew he'd have to do something about that radio, if he didn't, they'd eventually succeed.
That Pidegotto was causing more problems all over the hall, Machoke couldn't fight both the horde of rats and puffballs and that anymore and was swarmed before being thrown through a weakened portion of wall. Leela rushed to her side and returned her to her pokeball. Getting back to where the grunts had set up their own defense, Rainy and the Wartortle were squaring off, Rainy in his usual battle mood, very unlike his usual self, but it was his way of fighting. "Rainy-Day, Thunder Wave!" The Dratini let out the surge of electricity at the Wartortle who charged, and was hit with the wave, falling to the ground, twitching. "Rainy, give the trainer back his pokemon." Rainy-Day wrapped his body around the twitching pokemon, who was unable to move due to the electricity running through its body. Rainy launched the pokemon back at his owner and followed Leela into the elevator, who noticed the emergency exit in the ceiling. Using Rainy-Day as a makeshift rope/ladder, she wiggled out of the elevator and was about to return Rainy to his pokeball before that damned Pidgeotto crashed into the elevator. The Dratini struggled against the bird, but was too tired to put up much of a fight and Leela was forced to return him to his pokeball before he was taken. She heard a dull thunk underneath her and she turned to regard her current situation. "I'm not about to let you morons keep me from finishing up our job."She yelled at the guards. Next to her was a grate, and behind the grate, a ventilation shaft. She was able to take it off just as a Rattata jumped up on her leg, which she then shook off and threw down into the elevator again. She climbed into the shaft and made her way far past where she heard battle sounds before dropping down into some storage room with an unlocked door.
"Get that girl!" shouted the guard with the Pokeflute after rolling his own Pokemon off of his stomach. He watched with satisfaction as Rocket Pokemon fell before them. A grunt with an aggressive Growlithe shouted in fury as his Pokemon all fainted around him. "NOW!" shouted Max and the group of grunts in the stairwell jumped through the door. He pulled the hose with him and aimed it at the assembled Pokemon and guards. Mayu tried turning the water on but couldn't quite reach the wheel so another grunt grabbed it, turning the high pressure hose on full. The howls of frightened Growlithes and surprised guards were quickly turned into gurgles as Max hit each guard in the face head on. "GET OUT OF THERE YOU IDIOTS!" shouted Max while Alex dashed forward. He was laughing crazily, swinging his bat at whatever he could find. A soaked Rattata shook its head and looked up just in time to see a fist swinging its way. Alex's Primeape was enjoying it as much as its master was. "Maxxie let me get them all!" Fucking psycho, how'd you get to be a commander? The guards fled after two got their heads smashed in, quite literally, by the bat. The leader of the guards squared off against Alex while the rest retreated to regroup in the stairwell on the opposite side of the floor. "I betcha you are the boss of these Grunts. Have at ya!" The Pidgeotto dived onto the Primeape running beside Alex but Alex didn't even look back to see how his prized Pokemon was faring. He was too interested in bashing the idiot blocking his path. Max didn't care to see how Alex faired, gesturing at the defeated grunts by the elevators to move it. "Come on, just one floor up and we're out of here." God I hope the police are still clueless, we've been really lucky so far.
"NOW!" That was all that damian needed to hear before he followed max to the next room. Calling out his farfetch'd he saw how max sprayed the guards with the hose and alex smack around some guards with the bat. He wanted in on the action this time and turned his attention to some pokemon that were attacking some of the other rockets. "Go on farfetch'd!" Damian ordered as he pointed to a growlith. His order was received as farfetch'd attacked the growlith with a fury attack before it had a chance to react. His farfetch'd was able to land all three strikes and jumped backwards when the growlith turned it's attention to it. The enemy growlith attacked farfetch'd with a tackle. Farfetch'd tried to avoid it but was hit dead on not able to compete with the growlith's speed. Before damian could order his farfetch'd to do something else the growlith attacked again with another tackle. Farfetch'd tried to stop the growlith by attacking it with it's leek but was unable to stop it before getting tackled again. "Go on farfetch'd don't you fail me!" Damian shouted at his farfetch'd. Farfetch'd charged the growlith and attacked with a fury attack and was able to knock the growlith out. "Good job farfet..." Damian began to say before he noticed that they were surrounded by guard pokemon. "Shit." was all that damian could say while he weighed his options on what to do.
A yell and suddenly a torrent of water flowed down the stairs. Looks like the cavalry had arrived. The distraction was welcome but unfortunately it was too much for Rhyhorn who was finally taken down by the hose. Dirk, taking advantage of the confusion returned his battered pokemon and dashed past the occupied gaurds. "Come on, just one floor up and we're out of here." "About fucking time. This whole mission is just one big fiasco." He growled. His mood had taken a rather severe turn for the worse. Escape was his only priority
Leela walked out of the storage room and heard the sounds of water jets. Turning the corner, she saw Max, Alex, and a few other grunts washing away the guards and their pokemon. "About fucking time. This whole mission is just one big fiasco." "You're telling me. We try keeping quiet and the alarm gets pulled. Who the hell knocked out the guards in plain sight first anyways?"
"Hmmmm... You don't know Dig?
Max just spat with anger at Leels comment. "Whoever alerted the guards is going to deal with me. Now lets lose these Pokemon." He watched as Damian's rearguard action was getting overwhelmed. "Let's move it Damian!" he shouted as the other grunts dashed into the stairwell. After all the Rockets were in it, Max slammed the door. The guard Pokemon crashed into it and looked around confused. "Stupid bastards, useless without trainers." muttered Max. "Nidorino, smash this door so it won't open!" The purple beast bashed the handle of the door with its horn, pushing the soft metal into the door frame. "Alright, lets find this guy and bail... Say, do you any of you know where that Kuro kid is?" * * * The ceiling gave way after the Sandshrew's continued scratching weakened the metal. With a gasp one of the guards fell down with the lumber, metal sheeting and braces that gave way after the assault. As Kuro gazed through the dust cloud kicked up from the collapse he saw that one of the guards in the rubble was unconscious. A second guard looked at Kuro with shock and, after a second of recognition, anger. "YOU!" he said, pulling at his belt for a Pokeball... Which wasn't there. He quickly started scanning through the debris before finding it. By the time he turned back to the out of uniform Rocket Kuro was gone.
"Alright, lets find this guy and bail... Say, do you any of you know where that Kuro kid is?" "Can't say I know where he is. But you do know the real cops are on their way here, right? We may need another way out." She kicked a Rattata that had gotten through a small hole in the wall behind Zane. "You really need to learn to watch your back, average lookin'."
Fuck! "Let's move it to that room people! Room 5921!"
Kuro ran down the stairs as fast as he could and eventually into a random door, from there he continued going through the hallway. Let's move it to that room people! Room 5921! That voice sounded pretty familiar, he was in luck.
"Let's move it Damian!" "FUCK!" Damian thought to himself angrily as he retreated into the stairwell. He could hear the sounds of the guard pokemon trying to get into the stairwell but they could not make it in. Damian was angry that he was overrun by mindless pokemon with no trainer. Retreating wasn't helping but he took a moment to calm himself before doing anything else. He followed max to the next room hoping that whoever this bastard was that he would be worth the trouble of this mission.
Mayu was definitely worried about what was happening, but she was at least relieved to know that the Rockets were all together again. Well, minus Kuro of course. She hadn't seen where the older boy had disappeared to but she thought he would be okay. Or rather, she hoped he would be okay. With both of her Pokemon following her closely, she dashed into the room that Max had gone into and quickly scanned the area with her Pokemon. She didn't want to get caught off guard by anything again. Maybe she should invest in some anti-jigglypuff ear plugs.
After following the sound, Kuro entered the room where the other Rockets were.
Kuro was slightly dazed from the punch and now had a black eye.
"What happened up there?" asked Max, starting to move towards the stairs. I am so done with stairs today...
"T-there were some guards trying to radio the police. They were about to gte through, but didn't have a clear enough signal yet.
"Well where are those guards now? Didn't you think to keep an eye on them?" asked Max. I wonder if other lieutenants have to deal with this. He looked at Mayu trailing behind the group of Rockets coming with him. Nope, no they don't.
"I-I'm sorry..." | |
Scott followed the tattered group, silent. He hadden done much up to this point so he didn't want to attract attention. He was still soaking wet, and all his pokemon lie faint in their pokeballs.
Max noticed Scott lagging behind. "Hurry up, we've go-" Guards appeared, chatting on the steps above. "Where do you think those grunts went to?"
Mayu had fallen behind but she wasn't out of the race yet! Trying her best to keep up with the others, she made sure to keep a close eye behind her to make sure no one was following her. Once they stopped because of the guards, she also froze and hoped they would be able to get past without alerting them.
"That kid damaged the radio but they figure they'll get it back running soon." "Wonder how many of our guys are still fighting? No one is talking anymore..." "Eh, don't worry about it. Brian had them cornered."
Damn. I should have taken that radio with me. Or at least completely smashed the circuits.

Mayu was really worried about the Rockets in the battle, but she didn't know if they would be able to do anything without getting hurt. Looking over to Max, she asked in a whisper with concern in her voice. "Are we going to help them soon boss? They're not doing very good right now and they just got even more backup." She didn't want to give away their positions just yet, so she was trying not to move around too much.
