"I suppose that's fair, and most people only remember my Nordic predecesor. Shame about his passing, but I'll continue his legacy till my last breath."

'wonder if this is the dunmer he helped take out that shrine. Probably not, world isn't that small'

Lloden roared with laughter. "You're that old bear's apprentice?" he laughed. "Ah, that old man was one of the craziest bastards I'd ever met. He ever tell you about the Hermaeus Mora shrine we took apart out in Skyrim? Ah, that was a good time."
He stopped laughing and peered at the bosmer. "The real question is, though, are you worth his name? He was a strong man, heart and body. Knew when to stay his axe and when to swing hard enough to shake the earth itself. A good man. A merciful man, when they could be redeemed. But never let one he knew to be irredeemable get away. Absolutely implacable."

SPARTANXIII:

"I was just being courteous, you didn't have to turn it into an attack against yourself....granny!" said Belkin, smirking to himself.

"i was speaking from personal experience." Luna said normally. But then she put on a funny accent. "Don't make-a me angry, or i vill have to suck your blood! Bleh!" she said joking around, making the hand motions and crouching lower ontop of it.

"I remember their destination was Valenwood, the name I don't quite recall however. And yes, I'm sure it was him. He even still spoke of his younger brother fondly."

''Ah, there you two are'' Joncis sits down across from the two of them with a bottle of Colovian Brandy, ''the others are coming into the city now, were either of you shooting arrows? any harder and you would have killed Bites-Her-Tail''

"It was the orc, not me. By the way is the bottle still up there?"

''Well of course it was Urgal, if it was you you would have finished her off, by the way nice job with those bandits, you probably should have hid the bodies though'' he turns to look out the window, ''and I didn't see a bottle, sorry, I'm suprised the guards didn't cut you down for that though, maybe they work on shifts, there's at least 20 archers on the walls now''

The door of the tavern swung open, an enormous red-bearded Nord stumbled in, bumping his head on the frame due to his exaggerated stature. He was covered head to toe in dirt, muck, and blotches of dried blood. He held a lard battleaxe in one hand, a traveling bag in the other. He wore a fur cloak, and a strap of hide wrapped around his waist. He wore nothing else.

He dropped the weapon and pack, causing a loud clang and thud as he shuffled to the bar, collapsing on a seat at the counter.

He breathed heavily. His voice was deep, a rumbling growl.

"Water."

Derek_the_Dodo:
Urgal paused. At least this is something. Valenwood. There isn't a decision to take between heading off by myself or continuing through with the escort job as we're headed for Valenwood anyway. All these years and now definite news. It's a long shot, but I just might be able to find him. I need all the information that I can get from Anruin though.

"And the mercs he's with? Who are they? When did you last see them?"

The mercs weren't the most honest folk, but they were strong. And that was maybe... a years ago now?"

SamtheDeathclaw:

Enthir turns to Luna ''don't worry, you're not a vampire, if you were this would be like a mace to, wherever'' he takes a piece of garlic hanging from one of the many houses and tosses it at Luna. She dodges it as it was making a beeline for her face.

"I did hide the bodies. Never really on magick or you'll look like a fool. I also don't care for hiding my actions at the moment, but I would love to know why you hired a damn daedra worshipper and a vampire!"

Belkin dropped his composure and laughed, and then joined in on the act, doing a stupidly heroic stance and doing his best over-the-top voice. "Away foul beast of Oblivion, or else I, Lord Belkin Delmonte Belucard, will smite thee and your army of a thousand dreaded souls with nary a scratch upon thee!" he replied.

Luna was laughing until the piece of garlic came flying at her. She quickly had to dodge it in a manner that didn't seem natural at all.
"Damn it, you know that i-!" she said but clamped down over her mouth with a hand quickly. She had said too much already.

ruedyn:
"I don't think it's fair to judge myself. I'll let you decide as we go on with this adventure. And yes did tell me about that day."

What a coincidence. Never expected that old bear to pass his job on.
"Fair enough. We parted ways soon after that, unfortunately. I don't hunt things that go bump in the night without provocation." Lloden touched the scar on his chest through his chestpiece.

The barman placed a mug of water on the bar and stepped away hurriedly.

The large Nord grabbed the mug in his right, catching a half empty bottle of Colovian Brandy in his left.

He turned his head slightly, shifting his eyes to see a small Breton, nearly half his size. By his garb he looked to be a mage. The mage. The very mage he had been trying to catch up with.

"Aye." He took down the water and brandy in two great swigs, some of it running down his messy beard. He payed it no mind. He dropped the bottle and mug at the bar.

"I'm late." He turned his body more, to get a full look at the Breton.

"Bandits."

''Hey it wasn't me it was Enthir who hired everybody!'' Joncis took a look around, now Urgal, the unnamed nord and Lloden knew Luna's secret as well as Anruin, that brings the count up to 7 out of 14 in the space of about a day. ''And Bites-Her-Tail is a psychopath, her worshipping Clavicus Vile or Sheogorath should be the least of your concerns'' He went up to the counter, ordered 5 more brandies, gave the wench some gold and sat back down, ''If you want my opinion, Luna is a trained killer and excellent in Stealth, she even has her 'condition' under control so that's a plus, she's an asset, Bitey is the polar opposite, you saw how she tore open that troll, and she ENJOYED IT, when we get between a rock and a hard place she'll be like a hot knife through butter ''

Belkin ran over to help her up and asked, "He knows that you're.....allergic to Garlic? Hates things thrown at you while distracted? Able to stay in character too much?"

'Is poisoned by Garlic and can move like quickly cause you really ARE a Vampire?' he thought to himself. Yeah, that point was fun, but...it still didn't dampen that train of thought in his head.

Lloden glanced up at the hulking brute. [i] Considering the others we have in this little fellowship, I expect that he's the nord Enthir and Joncis were talking about. [\i] "Oi! Hairy! Care to join us for a drink? I suspect we'll be travelling together soon enough." Lloden studied the man. Tall. Too tall. A wildman, obviously. His arms were thick as tree trunks, and his ax was too large for any normal man to wield easily.

''Oh, well sucks to be you, there's half a dozen more of us, they just are wondering around the city for a bit, anyway, I'm Joncis, me and an old friend set up this expedition, there's Urgal, your rival for de-facto tank, there's Lloden, Dunmer 01, and Anruin, the Archer'' Joncis took a swig of his brandy.

"I didn't actually know she was a vampire, just suspicion. Thanks for re affirming. And I know the usefulness of crazy and vampirism, doesn't mean we should trust them. At any moment they could snap, killing us or worse innocents!"

"What's this talk of a vampire? And as for Bitey, a lizard is touched by madness and you would condemn her? And I told you of Malacath, to follow his code is to be an Orc! Forget your crusade of so called rightousness, you just told me Kaglar, an Orc and Daedra worshipper, saved your life and that demands a debt of honour!"

Urgal was stood upright now a stern challenging look on his brow.
"Now I don't know what it is that we are protecting, but I know it's important and there will be trouble, why would we have been made to assemble so hastily to guard it? It needs cooperation, and you want to be rid of at least 3 of us because of some religious belief?"

SPARTANXIII:

'Is poisoned by Garlic and can move like quickly cause you really ARE a Vampire?' he thought to himself. Yeah, that point was fun, but...it still didn't dampen that train of thought in his head.

Luna reached out for his hand, but retracted it when a pain went through her head. Damnit! not an urge i need right now. she though and realized her hood was down.

The Dunmer's appearance became progressively worse by the second as she entered her 48th hour without feeding. Her eyes began to glow more and the k9's in her mouth became stuck elongated, for feeding. She looked up at Belkin in fear and backed away from him.
"Please don't kill me..." she begged, trying to scrambled backwards, desperate to get into any sort of shadow.

The brute stood slowly, and pulled up a seat at the Dunmer's table.

"Been looking for you." he turned back to the Breton.

He nodded. "Vargmir," and took a moment to eye the rest of the group in the tavern. They seemed to be a good stock.

He was the biggest, though that seemed to be a constant in any group he was apart of. He hated his size, it drew far too much attention. Vargmir shrugged.

He settled his eyes on the Orc. He looked strong. Damn strong. Like he wrestled Trolls for a living, with scars to show for it.

"Rival." He shook his head. "He can have it. Just here for the coin."

Clever bastard, Joncis thought, well, he can at least try to turn this around ''I never did read her dossier, how do you know she's a vampire? We're jumping to conclusions here. By 'condition' I meant her ability to age slower. Enthir hired her, and he wouldn't be the kind to hire them if they could slit our throats at night, I know it looks bad for her but my cousin was a vampire and he did NOT look like that, his skin was paler and he has eyes that glow red, all dunmer eyes glow red!''

"Religious as well as moral, but I see your point. Until this is over, the three of you will be safe... Come on out boys." Anruin shouts to the corner of the bar. 2 men hop up and introduce themselves to Joncis, a short redguard and an Altmer. Belkin, just stood there, shocked at what he just saw...a Vampire...a female Vampire, and it had been interacting with him in a human manner................nope, still can't quite figure it out in his head.

He then shook away those thoughts to look at the situation right now: Her, scared and begging, a Vampire begging to him not to kill her...he had heard the stories all before: Vampires would scorch the land, kill every living being in their sleep, place a curse on those who walked in the sun and about a billion other stories made from nonsense....but right now, there was only one thing he could do.

He reached out towards her.......and helped place her hood back on her head.

"I have a lot of questions I want to ask right now!" he said in a confused, yet serious, tone, "But I'm not about to get any answers if I let you burn alive now, am I?"

Vargmir took a whiff of the air. He froze, his eyes narrowing, a guttural growl forming in his throat. He was exhausted, but his heart began to beat with a newly awoken energy. The scent. He knew that scent.

Vampire.

He stood from his seat, towering over the rest of the patrons. He took an aggressive stance, scanning the room. The place was too packed for him to make out exactly who.

He spoke not a word, not wanting to reveal too much about himself.

Joncis examined the two of them, the short Redguard, he remembers his dossier at least, raised on Stros M'kai, skilled in dual-wielding, has a hatred for Khajiit, and the Altmer, she was an exceptional mage, but quiet, normally out of the way of everyone else ''How'd you two get here?'' Joncis asked.

P.S. This is getting ridiculous, we're now up to 16 characters (at first I was worried 12 was too much), at PM me which one is getting killed off next fight. I was planning on bringing an Altmer in later but nvm.

Lloden sighed and stood. "Bickering like children and we haven't even traveled an entire day yet. Can't wait for when all this explodes." He stepped out of the inn, and into the early afternoon sunshine. He lifted his arms, stretching. He hadn't had this slow of a day in years. Simply sitting in an inn with companions wasn't about to help him be a better archer. He found the archery butts the guards use for training, and went to town on practicing. Nock. Draw. Aim. Fire. Seconds, at the most, but still far too long. He sighed. Fifty years of this and I'm still not a good as I have to be. As I need to be. Better than most, but not better than the demon's newest champion. Leave it to that beast to answer my threats with an even better archer. The arrow thudded into the center of the target, illicting a stare from nearby guards. Too Lloden's eye, it was just to the left of perfect center, about half an inch. Not good enough. This went on for some time.

"Huh...that's interesting...in a way...the powers I mean, not the one feeding of a persons blood." Belkin said to himself before noticing her still shaking. "Hey, don't worry. You're the first Vampire who didn't actively try to kill me, so you're pretty much Ok by my standards" he said to her, trying to calm her down....not that it would work much, but still.

Josh12345:
''Well you could start by putting her hood up!'' Enthir turned around and shoved it over her head, then he wispered in Belkin's ear, ''half of Skingrad is scared to death of vampires, that's why there's garlic everywhere, look after her until we're out of here unless you want a mass panic''

"Ok then, I'll keep that in mind." said Belkin to the leaders friend whose name he keeps forgetting. "You'll have my word, while we're here, I'll make sure no harm comes to her, nor will I let her secret purposefully be revealed while we're here!"

ruedyn:
"Didn't know of you until a few moments age. They were for restraining Bitey, mostly. You'll notice they have daggers. If we were to fight you, they'd have brought bows so you couldn't get too close, a method we also use for werewolves."

Vargmir caught the last of the Elf's sentence. He seated himself as he came to a realization.

We have a vampire.

We have a hunter.

This didn't bode well. He calmed down, and set his eyes on the table. The coin for this job was too good to pass up, and he had no home. he had to put up with this group for awhile, and everyone killing each other in the middle of Skingrad wasn't exactly keeping a low profile.

Vargmir decided to stay quiet. To watch. This would certainly be interesting.

Stay out of it. Let them deal with their own problems. Just here for the coin.

He motioned the barman for another water, silently taking in the conversation.

"I have a lot of questions I want to ask right now!" he said in a confused, yet serious, tone, "But I'm not about to get any answers if I let you burn alive now, am I?"

Luna nodded, shaking. She brought the cloak up around herself and the pain was gone. "I-I don't burn in the sunlight like southern Vampires do. I sit in pain and it becomes visible. My healing magic won't work also." She said, visibly afraid of him. "Though i've never once fed on an innocent!" she said, but knew it was a lie. "Only once..."

Dro'Araaj had been watching the exchange quietly, but now he felt the need to speak.

''Unless you want to be a vampire too you shouldn't be offering yourself up'' Enthir remarked ''And Vampiris Sanguine isn't the kind of thing that heals with a cure potion disease and a good night's sleep. Ah, here's the inn, it only took us 40 minutes to get to.'' Dresden pipes up''so what's the plan?'' ''We'll spend the night here, then tomorrow morning we move south and cross the border to Valenwood, if we make good time we can reach Arenthia this time tomorrow''
