Between the new season of 24, and now HAWX, the whole PMC is getting a lot more recognization

A Tom Clancy game in Zero Punctuation? At last!

Two reviews in the last 3 weeks have seen Frontier: Elite II make a cameo appearance. Is another retrospective in the works?

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go salute my flag some more before I get shot or somebody sets it on fire.

Press X to make the world safe for democracy---now that's a good new twist on an old joke.

Also, the Webby Awards are a complete and utter joke with about as much credibility as if I ran a blog, created a banner, and gave it to the Escapist (or any other website) so they could call themselves "Some Guy With a Blog's Website of the Fucking Year." So no, annoying ad, I won't visit that worthless site and waste my time voting. I'm too busy wasting my time ranting about it in a post that nobody will read because it'll be buried under OVER NINE THOUSAND more comments in the space of about five minutes.

Nicely done,

I like how Yahtzee is branching out further into other generas of gaming.

Don't forget Metal Gear Solid 4.

I'm sure that absolutely no one is at all interested, but "Tom Clancy's" is actually a brand name, so no, Tom Clancy does not write every single book and game and movie that comes out with his name on it. The reason why is kind of convoluted but amounts to that at the time he wanted to get his first book published no one really knew what a hard technothriller was and he couldn't really find a publisher, so he ended up publishing with a military press and part of the contract included rights to his name for some reason.

I was surprised about H.A.W.X, it seemed from the trailers to be air combat lite, and yet Yahtzee seemed to like it. That whole plot madness section was amusing too, "INSECT PEOPLE RULE!" ;)

This game is a flight sim in the same way Warhawk is.

In other news, I'm suprised. I had heard he was going to be reviewing Siren: Blood Curse.

Good review. Looks like more plane games might be in the future. Although, why did Yahtzee make a Gears of War reference at the end?

Haha, "I've seen light switches with more tactical fexibility!", so true indeed.
Great review, and comes close to what i was thinking about the game. The flying is extremely fun, and of course they needed to cut down realism to a somewhat playable level. I just wish the game's difficulty would have been defined by more tactical options instead of just throwing in masses and masses of enemy aircraft and vehicles to shoot down.

As soon as I saw this was the game he was reviewing, my first thought was "Whoopie. We get to hear about how much Yahtzee hates American Imperialism again. Joy." Turns out I was right. But I was grateful that he took some time out from bashing the American Military Industrial Complex and American nationalism to actually REVIEW THE FUCKING GAME.

And having heard that, I was very glad that he was actually able to enjoy a game where you fly around in jets and blow shit up. Astonishing how that works.

Please, Yahtzee, do all of us in America a favor and stop reviewing games that involve American international relations, or at least stop editorializing on their politics. We know the rest of the world hates us, and we're tired of hearing about it. It's not amusing or comical when you rant against America anymore. It's just as vitriolic and bile-stained as your mom after her weekly two girls one cup reenactment.

But not as vitriolic or bile-stained as Rush taking the drugs out of his fat mouth long enough to rant about the evils of socialism and how much he misses the good ol' days of Dubya.

"Threading a needle with the leg of an angry spider."

I don't know where the hell he gets such apt analogies, but they're flawless.

wait.. some of you people actually take yahtzee's game advice?
he has terrible taste you morons.. BAAAA

I actually watched my friend play this for 1-2 hour so the spoilers weren't spoilers for me, yay!
Overall it looked slightly complicated... and even if it's simple I was never a good flyer-gamer (Still haven't beaten GTA:SA because I can't get past flight school).
Overall, this game is -not- for me.

Nice review this week, while having a few parts off the regular pace I found it entertaining.

Well done Yahtzee! One very good review there!

I thought my computer froze at the end. Lol

About time someone made this into a video game:

and army of two

Yahtzee shoud've said Tom Clancy's Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X by Tom Clancy; like from the Clive Barker's Jericho review

Is that even possible? I would think it would be hard to convey said work without the prose, most of the fun is in the fact that you need to read every damn word in that book.

This was a pretty funny episode. Did anyone else notice something different about Yahtzee's voice, though? It seemed a little more...chill. Like, maybe he was closer to the mic and had to pull it back a bit. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Decent review. A little lacking in the humor department but still solid.

On a different note, has anyone else noticed that Yahtzee hasn't reviewed a PC game since Left 4 Dead?

Great review again mr. Yahtzee.

I was silently hoping you would review another Wii game again, so we would all have the great pleasure of watching the Nintendo Crusaders throw themselves selflessly into the mote of the Yahtzee castle!

I am only a recent "viewer" of your reviews, but I love them very much!

It's good to know the sewage floodgate that is the current games industry still has a nemesis that simply wants quality.

Keep up the great work!

Agreed... your point? Oh, I get it. So I have to love Rush Limbaugh to get tired of having the same "we hate America" joke run over and over. Good point, and quite an excellent straw man you've constructed, sir.

I voted for Kerry and Obama. I still love my country.

...with silly hats.

Spoken like a true pro...

...fessional. :)

I have a theory on what they would do if they took over the U.S., the leader would insert themselves as president, promise change and better things, and ultimately everything would stay the same.

well, maybe we'd get some silly hats

Given Slate's background, saying that Gary Gygax produced nothing but shit - just after his death - you'll perhaps forgive me for not taking their whining too seriously. Or at all.

Ehrmmm...HAWX is on PC as well as on the consoles.

I was poking at his complaint about a PMC selling the rights to blow up Washington to someone. It reminded me of when Milo makes a contract with the Germans to blow up a certain amount of the base.

I take it that it wasn't the PC version that was reviewed here. Cause i doubt it that the utterly bugged PC version would have recieved even a smidgen of praise

haha, loved the spoiler ending. the girl has a willy.
