Air Gear was about dumbasses on rollerblades and it turns into some weird gang war crap. Tenjo Tenge was about high school kids fighting and it turns into crap about 1000 year wars or something. And in both cases I have no idea what's going on in the manga. I mean, don't mangas have editors. They literally make no sense. I challenge anybody to follow Tenjo Tenge. And the art, while good, is confusing and doesn't help. Every panel I'm going, 'What the hell is going on.' It makes me angry because it's a failure of the artist on both art and storytelling. Doesn't anybody tell him 'Yo, this makes no sense.'? And both seem to have an unabashed hatred toward women. I've never seen female characters beaten, ripped, and eviscerated so bad in any manga. My god. |

The story was fun and i liked the characters. the only problem i had with the Manga was, "Wow this is cool and all but its kinda hard to see what there doing in these elaborate fight scenes." then when I heard about the anime i quickly started to watch it and i thought, "What the hell, what happened to the awesome fight scene, why is this happening?" It really got me mad that they took the one thing I couldn't get from the Manga, and changed it into something completely retarded. |

It was fast pased unlike a lot of other animes DBZ Yugio Bleach Naruto. While I can understand the reviewer's feelings it was alright not horrible, but not something I would spend money to watch ( mainly because it is discontinued ) JGR was sweet but there is only two games out and there really needs to be another one. why is he reviewing this anime now????? isn't it old? |

They make perfect sense. Just don't concentrate on what's being said and concentrate on the cartoon tits instead. Those are the point of the show(s). If you assume I'm being flippant, the guy drawing the thing is more known for his... other questionable works than things with reasonable stories. |

Well the original japanese version is very unique to anime with artstyle, soundtrack, and overall direction. Its really a unique experience among anime, and well, its not everyones cup of tea. Its like a bold new game that utilizes new and refreshing elements, not everyone is going to like it but you do get a niche audience that truly enjoyed the experience. If you did not enjoy the english dub (with its snobby americanization of everything) than might I suggest finding a fan-sub online and watching it online. Reading the manga helps too, it is a truly wonderful experience with fantastic art work and direction. |

Then I see this review and I just feel, ugh... I think the reason I like it is because its so cliche and retarded, its almost parodying itself, though the action sequences are still good. |

But still I DARE you to find me another ANYTHING which has Barak Obama on Rollerblades. It's a lot of Toilet humour and sex jokes but it WAS enjoyable for a 'Brain goes OFF' series. but that was just me, hell I much prefer to read Pokemon Special (not based on the anime at ALL) to Air Gear. |

I'm a bit late on the response here, but... When you put it like that, it makes it difficult to imagine that it's the same series being written about. If anything, my curiosity has been sparked a little by the radically different stances people have taken here. However, I get the feeling it's slotted under the typical shonen formula, which doesn't often sell well for me. Still, maybe I'll catch it on sale sometime just to see for myself which side of the fence I end up on. |

I never watched it in its english form. I went to rawramime.com and watched fan-sub versions of the japanese. Honestly dubbs just ruin everything. |

I tried, I really did, to read the manga.
But my god, it was horrible, I had to give up after around 5 chapters.
