Some people try to avoid litigation, but not Gamepunx writer Travis Taylor.

Edgy Edgerton and the Edged Edge of Edgyness maybe?

Edgy Edgerton and the Edged Edge of Edgyness maybe?

...I was just thinking that.

You're really pissed off with this Edge business aren't you Shamus?

Great news! With all those edges, he'll probably demand more than half. He can take both punches!

lol, edgy edgerton edges edgily closer to the edged edge of edgyness.

lets see you sue that.
plus, punch in the balls ftw

LOL the last panel is hilarious.

Bullcrap Games is one of my favourite developers now.

Or..

Edgy Edge McEdgerton Edges Edgily Closer to the Edged Edge of Edgyness IV: The Edge of Edginess

I think he'll get both punches and 3/4 the bottle.

Gonna make a small game titled The edge if edgyness meets edge of edgeton who likes to be near edged places

(God i just set off Google Chromes spell checker.)

Langdell should sue Wikipedia.

The last paragraph of the "EDGE Game" contains a total of 13 "Edge"'s...

Millions are to be made!

That was one of the most passionate rages I've ever seen.

The Edgy Misedgeventures of Edge the Edgehog: Edging out the Edgier Competition

EDIT--Ha! Wiki 'edging' and see what possibility links you get.

We should trademark "game," "games" and all derivatives there of and sue Edge Games for violating our rights.

I just did a little research on Tim. This dude is one of the many people who should just fucking die.

Dear Shamus Young,

I posted the following comment on July 24th, 2009:

RiffRaff:
Hmm... I am now working a game called "Edge Edgerton's Edgy trip to the Edge" out of spite.

Because of this obvious stealing of my game title (even though yours is better), you will soon hear from my lawyers.

Thank you, that is all.
RiffRaff

/Actually I've enjoyed your work since DMotR
//And my 'lawyer' is my friend who thought about going to law school once but then never applied

Xyphon:

While there are a great many people who are with you that this man is doing a disservice to the gaming community, let's please leave the death threats at the door. We have had some other threads get a little out of hand.

I emailed edge this morning witha link to the article you posted Shamus, along with all the replies.
I was suppirsed to get an answer at all, and heres the reply

Dear John

Thank you for contacting Edge. The information on the website in question is extremely inaccurate. Please do not believe what you read on such websites. If you have any questions for us, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Edge Games, Inc.

Its pretty standard stuff.

I think somewhere in the Death Star, Tim Langdell's head just exploded and he does not know why.

Funny one again Seamus.

Hah. This is one of the few times I've liked the Travis Taylor comics, nice work.

So does that mean he wants wednesdays or sundays?

God that was hilarious. :D

i'll bet that half the people who have replied so far don't have a clue who Tim is :P

Still, edgy edgerton and the edged abysses of edgyness would be a good game.

you'd be walking on edge making it though

I'd always assumed that words belonging to the English language, or any language for that matter, would be by default part of the public domain. Why were any of his suits ever even allowed into court?

Genius, this is a great comic that I think really needed to be done.

I sincerely tip my hat to you

Also loved the t=-shirt joke (don't know if you've always had that one but I've just noticed either way)

For some reason I thought you were on about that twit thee Edge

Dear Yahweh. That's...interesting. Also a little explicit in a minor way. Who would have thought this whole conversation was actually sexual innuendo? I mean besides all those people who make absolutely anything into innuendo.

I would consider you a very nice person if you would go in on this offer and ask his side of the story and post it here.
Then notify me to be sure I get it =)

Though I do not believe is Shamus is telling us lies, it's always nice to see such people word their deeds.

Forget all this "Edgy Games" stuff, I want to meet the judge who sentenced someone to get punched in the balls twice a week, maybe we can get him to be creative with Tim.

So when is Tim going to sue "The Edge" from U2? How about the cutlery products of Razor Edge? Ya know, if his company actually made games at all in the last 10 to 15 years and not just said they were in developmentment I might see a justification for some of this crap. The fact that Mr. Langdell didn't sue EA over Mirror's Edge, but surprising said that his company was in the development of a game called "Mirrors" (which is just vaporware like everything else they have announced) makes me think he sent a C&D letter to EA and EA responded with "Go F&@k yourself, we have more expensive lawyers!"

Loved the comic, give Tim Wednesday's and Saturday's and just enjoy the booze.

Tim Langdell, Tim Langdell, Tim Langdell:

There, hopefully this comes up when you google "Tim Langdell" now. Congrats, b!tch, your internet infamous! I hope I can get through to you what with the other 500 people waiting to burn you in effigy.

Hearing Travis of Gamepunx go off on some idiot suit is nothing new, but hearing Shamus Young attack him directly in experienced points was pretty satisfying. Langdell's a goddamn parasite. If Tim here thinks he's being clever with his whole "trademark" scam, I'm going to let him in on a little secret:

You're not the first pansy S#!T for brains to think he can hide behind loopholes in the law and take money from decent, hardworking people and you won't be the last, but you might be the most detestable, cowardly and despicable person to ever to take fraud to such a disgusting low. The guys who run those pyramid scams? and cheat old ladies out of their pension? They go straight when people tell them that they're like Tim Langdell. Die is a GUTTER.

Tim Langdell, Tim Langdell, Time Langdell.

Nice comic. This guy is just an idiot picking on small timers. What he hopes to get out of it is another question but if it's a lot of people pissed off then he's well down the track

You know, it's one thing when he goes after bigger companies like Sony or Marvel, they at least have the ability to defend themselves with lawyers of their own. But going after the developer of Edge makes him akin to some highway robber jumping-out from behind the rocks as a poor beggar with a few alms in his cup shambles past.

The only problem is that the local sheriff in this little scenario is backing-up the highway robber.

For each one of those, Tim loses a bit of self-esteem. And that makes me smile.

In my book it's the same thing: it's bullshit.

Yes, he has the trademark and he's trying to "protect" it. But he should never have gotten a tm on "Edge". On "EDGE Games", sure. But not on the word "edge"...
So it's not just his fault, because he's a douchebag, but the departments as well, who gave him that tm.

He isn't protecting shit. His "company" is nothing but a front that lets him sue people for easy money because the way our government is set up lets him get away with it. Seriously, just look at their homepage. Tell me that it looks like a real business, and keep a straight face while doing it. They're even trying to tell you that they have a comic book series for fuck's sake. Never mind that the first comic cover is blatantly a photo shopped Dare Devil cover (the other three don't look familiar, but they look kinda like The Comedian).

He isn't protecting a damn thing. He's just robbing a poor man who had a great idea for an innovative new video game because he had the misfortune of naming that game based on the single word in the English Dictionary that happened to let Langdell sue him.
