I remeber when I used to play flash versions of this at school. Ah. Nostalgia.

Looks quite good.

The controls are really tough to master, and even then it's still a really hard game. There's something strangely addictive about it though - whether it's the explosions, the crashes, or the sheer ridiculous nature of the challenges, it's totally worth it when you beat a friend's current best. You'll never defeat my Inside the Ball, Jordan!

i bought trials 2 from steam and i found it to be pretty much a waste of my money (should have downloaded the demo), unless they completely changed it in HD ill save my points.

I also have played the way back flash version and purchased Trials 2 on Steam. Racing against friends is pretty motivating, but think twice before you watch the dudes on the tracks' world 1st places.. each replay will shatter your confidence just as much as your driver's bones after hitting the floor head first. :>

It's ludicrously hard, but so very rewarding when you finally manage to get through the more difficult courses unharmed.

Anyone remembers the really old 2d biker game where you collected apples to win?
made me think of that at 1st glance :D

For some reason this game looks like it would entertain me for hours. I might give it a shot, good review. Although it also looks like it would be mind numbingly frustrating.

Trials HD was well worth the money in my opinion. True, the later levels will be frustrating, but you'll find yourself trying them for hours anyway. It's that kind of addiction that makes you play like you somehow absolutely *must* beat that course. I'm on the last very last one and even though I haven't beaten it yet, I've been hooked trying.
The course creation is pretty good too - if you're creative, you can make some wicked tracks.

How did you get over that pipe? Its like trying to get up a step thats bigger than your bike with no ramp.

I'm not all that interested in it, if it was 800 point maybe but I just bought Shadow Complex and still feel ripped off by it's price.

I couldn't describe the look of it better myself. From the video the game looks like Excitebike.

I've logged hours into just the demo of this game alone. It's that addictive. I hope to get this game soon.

A coworker of mine and I spent all of last week destroying each other's scores. I picked it up a few hours after him, and made it a point to beat him on every single track he'd done before I went to bed. The rest of the week was spent taunting each other during work (mostly me taunting, because I was winning), followed by him going home and beating me, then me getting home and spending an hour beating his new time.

One Stock Market, he managed to place in the 300s. I responded by placing 159th. He responded by getting 72nd. And, I, jerk that I am, placed 70th. We've been pushed into the 80's, and our Cold War has moved on to other tracks (that last time, I only beat his score by... 0.04 seconds).

Addictive, exhilarating, controller-throwing, muscle-spasm-inducingly, maddeningly, fantastic.

Best we can tell, the developers of this game are pure evil. 'You put a bump at the top of that near-vert climb? DIE!' I imagine they have little lights that blink at their office every time someone resets an extreme track. And deep down in their souls, they crave that light's never-ending glow.

Playing Trials/Tribulations one evening, the thought occurred to me: I've never seen "contempt" as a level-design philosophy. Amazing.

If i remember correctly, It's called "Elasto Mania" or just "Elma".

Also, this looks quite interesting. Might try it out some time (:

Trials 2 was a fucking awesome game. I logged so many hours on that, and still could not get through the last 2 levels without falling off. The replayablility is in the leaderboards I found.

This is the kind of game that I love playing: the super-difficult game that gives you an orgasmic sense of accomplishment when you finally complete your objective, be it through skill or luck. I'd kill myself going for the gold, but it's always worth it when I get them.

i played a 2d game similar to this, mostly just the physics part and the motorcycle, you went through and series of puzzle platforms in order to collect strawberries

wish i could remember the name, on topic though this seems like a fun game, great review

Edit: the game was called X-moto

DL'd the demo yesterday, bought the game today, and already must've logged about 8 hours into the full game. I always wanted to 2-D Excitebike made on any generation after N64, and this game gave me that. A-frikkin-mazing. The only thing that i don't dig on is that I have to be friends with someone in order to be able to DL their levels.
