Fantastic, exactly, exactly, EXACTLY what I felt in this game. One of the first reviews where I had little difference in opinion. Fabu.

And who the hell was the guy's head who popped down when he said "Things to grapple on". I've never figured that out.

They never need Batman during the day because it's always night time in Gotham.

Seriously.

There's something hilarious about the little Batman stick figure. I just love the way it looks.

Good to know Arkham Asylum is worth it, at least.

He is right, the gameplay is quite basic, and the enemies look good and are better characterised then then even batman. Also i also didn't like the fight with killer croc, i was hoping i would go King Kong and break his jaw in half.

Would have defeated the point in the review ehen he explained that his purpose was to spew (not unreasonable) bile and nought else.

Well I didn't expect a rapturous reception, but for Yahtzee that's a pretty damn good review. And, as always, pretty much on the money.

I'd never thought about the bat-light thing before, but presumably Gotham villains work mostly at night (as real-life villains do).

Obviously, when they need him during the day, they do Bat-Semaphore.

I really don't understand how everyone praises this game on the one hand but then damns it for all its many flaws on the other.

Personally, I don't buy it and I didn't buy the game either after reading and hearing about the flaws and playing the uninspired demo.

Part of me wonders if the lack of any games worth a look recently has put some sort of goggle vision over the nafness of Arkham Asylum.

Now I think I might actually try playing this. Minnie = coward and therefore likes stealth.

"Batman is the least interesting character in every thing he's in." I have to agree with that. Batman is boring. I don't watch "The Dark Knight" for Batman, I watch it for Joker.
Also, I agree with pretty much everything in this review. I'm always turning off detective mode to make the game look normal again. If only they made it so detective mode just made it so you could see people as silhouettes through walls like in L4D and just highlight air vents and stuff without making the whole screen blueish green.

Having the voices from The Animated Series back was icing on the cake. I am glad to see some valid criticisms, and having played just a little (the PC version), I have to agree that you take off Detective Vision because you want to see what the world looks like even when you'd do better just to leave it on.

Oh dear me that was hilarious. I guess because I've played the game and am a super Batman dork I can agree completely with him.
The final boss fight was pathetic, and the Killer Crock fight was also pathetic.
Oh well... Awesome review.

Hah, surprisingly enough, Yahtzee has rather liked it! Will it come in his top five best games of all time?

An honest review (as expected) aaaand as expected the same plus and negative points covered by the quality games press with additional extras that the press doesn't go on about box art for example.

Just goes to show that every review that gave a rating of more than 8/10 was either amazed to get a good comic book game and was blinded by its flaws, or just wanted it so bad that their trouser tightening moments took over before they even played it.

I say this as an owner of a poor quality batarang, and someone who loved this game.

Ah, morning coffee and Yahtzee, best way to start a Wednesday.

That said, I definitely agree with his assessment of the Killer Croc level (which had me so frustrated I had to quit playing for a week then reattack it and power through the frustration.) I was anticipating a much bigger fight there than what I got, though, really, Croc's a scary-tough mofo so there's really no way Batman'd fight him straight on anyway.

Now that I've beaten the story I've gotta go back and get all the little damned extras. Might pop down to the game store for the guidebook just to make the searching go quicker.
