Paperboy Posts: 20 Joined: 6 Mar 2008 | Fantastic, exactly, exactly, EXACTLY what I felt in this game. One of the first reviews where I had little difference in opinion. Fabu. And who the hell was the guy's head who popped down when he said "Things to grapple on". I've never figured that out. |
Paperboy Posts: 18 Joined: 18 Jun 2008 | They never need Batman during the day because it's always night time in Gotham. Seriously. |
Muckraker Posts: 240 Joined: 19 Aug 2009 | "THE FUCKING START BUTTON!!" Ha that wqas really funny I'm going to buy this game soon. |
Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 2 Sep 2009 | There's something hilarious about the little Batman stick figure. I just love the way it looks. Good to know Arkham Asylum is worth it, at least. |
Beat Writer Posts: 219 Joined: 25 Mar 2008 | Great review I want some bat anti-thing spray |
Paperboy Posts: 41 Joined: 2 Apr 2009 | Twas a great review but i do wish he said more about the amazing scarecrow bits. |

Paperboy Posts: 33 Joined: 17 May 2009 | Holy crap nice riddle. How would u signal Batman during the day! |
Paperboy Posts: 18 Joined: 18 Jun 2008 |
They're on every Wednesday at 5pm GMT pretty much exactly. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 62 Joined: 13 Apr 2009 | Hmm wel i might consider buying it now since it seems he liked it |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1082 Joined: 25 Jul 2008 | He is right, the gameplay is quite basic, and the enemies look good and are better characterised then then even batman. Also i also didn't like the fight with killer croc, i was hoping i would go King Kong and break his jaw in half. |

Would have defeated the point in the review ehen he explained that his purpose was to spew (not unreasonable) bile and nought else. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 52 Joined: 18 Jun 2008 | Well I didn't expect a rapturous reception, but for Yahtzee that's a pretty damn good review. And, as always, pretty much on the money. I'd never thought about the bat-light thing before, but presumably Gotham villains work mostly at night (as real-life villains do). |

Beat Writer Posts: 139 Joined: 19 Mar 2008 | Obviously, when they need him during the day, they do Bat-Semaphore. |
Paperboy Posts: 34 Joined: 2 Apr 2009 | good review i was planing on getting that batman game anyway but by the sounds of it i made the right choice |
Paperboy Posts: 18 Joined: 18 Jun 2008 |
Seconding this, I have no idea who the guy is :U |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2862 Joined: 10 Mar 2009 | This makes me want to get it now. Great review. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 473 Joined: 2 Jun 2009 | I really don't understand how everyone praises this game on the one hand but then damns it for all its many flaws on the other. Personally, I don't buy it and I didn't buy the game either after reading and hearing about the flaws and playing the uninspired demo. Part of me wonders if the lack of any games worth a look recently has put some sort of goggle vision over the nafness of Arkham Asylum. |
Paperboy Posts: 12 Joined: 11 Aug 2009 | really good review yahtzee, i guess they can't call him during the day, unless it's cloudy |
Beat Writer Posts: 199 Joined: 8 Sep 2009 | Top Review. Tried the demo on the PC but havent qute got the muscle in my laptop for it sadly. Spent the majority of this review giggling inanely to myself at my desk.... great way to start lunch |
Beat Writer Posts: 153 Joined: 6 Aug 2008 | Now I think I might actually try playing this. Minnie = coward and therefore likes stealth. |
Paperboy Posts: 33 Joined: 15 Apr 2009 | "Batman is the least interesting character in every thing he's in." I have to agree with that. Batman is boring. I don't watch "The Dark Knight" for Batman, I watch it for Joker. |
Paperboy Posts: 20 Joined: 7 May 2008 | Having the voices from The Animated Series back was icing on the cake. I am glad to see some valid criticisms, and having played just a little (the PC version), I have to agree that you take off Detective Vision because you want to see what the world looks like even when you'd do better just to leave it on. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2497 Joined: 30 Dec 2008 | Oh dear me that was hilarious. I guess because I've played the game and am a super Batman dork I can agree completely with him. |
Paperboy Posts: 18 Joined: 28 Jan 2009 | Hah, surprisingly enough, Yahtzee has rather liked it! Will it come in his top five best games of all time? |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 668 Joined: 5 Jun 2009 | Great review like always. I'm considering buying the game now. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1039 Joined: 11 Apr 2009 | Fantastic as always! |
Copy Clerk Posts: 83 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | An honest review (as expected) aaaand as expected the same plus and negative points covered by the quality games press with additional extras that the press doesn't go on about box art for example. Just goes to show that every review that gave a rating of more than 8/10 was either amazed to get a good comic book game and was blinded by its flaws, or just wanted it so bad that their trouser tightening moments took over before they even played it. I say this as an owner of a poor quality batarang, and someone who loved this game. |
Muckraker Posts: 315 Joined: 11 Jan 2009 | Ah, morning coffee and Yahtzee, best way to start a Wednesday. That said, I definitely agree with his assessment of the Killer Croc level (which had me so frustrated I had to quit playing for a week then reattack it and power through the frustration.) I was anticipating a much bigger fight there than what I got, though, really, Croc's a scary-tough mofo so there's really no way Batman'd fight him straight on anyway. Now that I've beaten the story I've gotta go back and get all the little damned extras. Might pop down to the game store for the guidebook just to make the searching go quicker. |
