The combat is very action-oriented. You have to block and you tend to move around a lot. This is in contrast to some of the more number-crunchy MMO's, where you stand still and usually watch your button bar to manage cooldowns. In CO, you're always watching the action. It's still an MMO, though. Don't go in expecting Street Fighter or anything. :) |

Nope. I think we need to move on, or at least take a break from Champs. |

Aw shame! I'm enjoying these :( Also, this quest is nowhere near as ridiculous as the one after next on that. You know the one, where you have to get the Gadroon (frog-alien) courier, who is dressed as a pizza delivery boy... |

Somebody will comment about how he's doing a quest, killing some dudes for reasons he isn't entirely sure if but hey it's free experience. Then I tune-in, having actually read the text for that mission. The usual response is along the lines of "Oh, alright." |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1214 Joined: 6 Oct 2008 | The quest text: Bane of every MMO quester's existance. If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone ask "Where is Mankrik's wife" in World of Warcraft, I'd be a very rich person. Because it, much like it was shown here, is right in the quest text. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2831 Joined: 28 May 2009 | Alas, I always read the mission text. In full. Rereading it if there's something that I don't understand. What can I say, my imagination isn't the greatest; plus I like putting my trust in the scriptwriter's storytelling ability. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1721 Joined: 29 Aug 2009 | Well, at least it's not a clickfest MMO like some I could mention... (Guild Wars, 2Moons, WoW, etc) |

That isn't a real quest. Who am i kidding? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1821 Joined: 8 Oct 2008 | Ok, this one made me laugh. Nice one. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2060 Joined: 5 Jun 2009 | In it's desire to be like comic books,Champions Online does not go overboard. It gleefuly jumps overboard with 1-ton anchor in it's hands. |

1) I don't remember those, but then I only played for a few months, and didn't read the mission text often. (Because they were so generic.) |

City Of Villains: Help Dr. Creed test the Anti-Serum Not to mention rescueing Ayn Race(The writer), Dr. William Deering(beedi beedi), Ninevah Sing from the DataLore lab or Jake Emmet, the famous MMO designer. And you weren't a great fan? Did you not play the Seer Marino arc? That was godlike. And anything with Captain Aeon was a scream. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1015 Joined: 11 Jan 2009 | Wow, I'm glad I only read the text when I was in the n00b area...Its just crazy that they are that...zany on the text. Good comic as always. |

Still sounds good though! Thanks! |
Paperboy Posts: 22 Joined: 1 Sep 2009 | Hahaha this is why I find WoW to be superior to many other mmorpg's. Some missions are either boring or fun but at least they make sense. The same goes for a Anarchy Online, something I played a long time ago. The location and the mission must have some kind off connection otherwise we may as well make up our own story from scratch. Lazy ass developers... |
Press Junketeer Posts: 361 Joined: 3 Dec 2008 | I guess they heard about your complaints, because in their Unity Missions, Cryptic is now punishing us for not reading not reading the mission text. Here is a comic I made about it. |

I like how they poke the holes in comic books... they are comic books, Bruce Banner would have been blown to shit, not mutated ha :P |
Copy Clerk Posts: 101 Joined: 8 Sep 2009 | This is a good thing, why do you all hate it? It's meant to be a non-serious game. You know that these idiotic texts add to the charm, and deep in your heart, you wouldn't have it any other way. |

The fact that it requires actually movement maybe? |
