Hilarious, great review as always. Can't wait for Brutal Legend review (if that is indeed your next one)

Then Saw, that one will be amazing

You've outspoken yourself, another amazing review from Yahtzee

I always love Shakespeare references and the "Macbeth, maybe" was especially great. I also really wasn't expecting this to be your review. Funny one.

Am I the only one that got a Gears of War 2 Giant Worm level impression from this review?

Thank you Yahtzee for showing how much I hate you by critiquing my favourite DS game (and I'm 16 so HA it isn't fully a kiddies game)! I'm glad you somewhat like it, I don't really like how you complained about the platform control scheme, since it has worked in the two previous MArio & Luigi titles. You also miss out on some things in the game like Bowser inhaling crtain enemies for Mario & Luigi to fight or the clever puzzle/platform sequences.

Oh and by the way, I like Knuckles more than Sonic or Tails combined! But I like Mario more than Luigi, but Yoshi and Bowser Jr do leave more of an impression in my opinion.

Great review, Yahtzee! Glad to see you can review a DS game without bashing the DS. And yeah, the game isn't short by any means, but it comes of as ending too soon.

Yahtzee brings up a great point about the easy games of today. For example my first system was the N64 and I used to think i was one of the best gamers one the planet up until I started playing old-school games like super mario bros. 3. And don't even get me started on how much devil may cry 3 hurt my self-esteem.

Review felt lacking, and I think it was, in part, due to the amount of time devoted to "This game is too easy..."

Maybe it's just me, but Yahtzee seems a bit schizophrenic when deciding what level of difficulty he likes. One moment he's bitching about how the level of difficult in games like Mega Man is obsolete because back then arcade machines were just trying to get quarters from kids or whatever, but then you get to this review where "This game is too easy because it wants to be a kids game. Back in my day we had really hard games for kids." Which is true enough, but when you've hated and condemned that very difficulty as being obsolete, bringing it up to make a point like this just doesn't make much sense. It just hurts my enjoyment of a review to watch him contradicting points he's made before.

Fun Fact: The reason Sonic is better than Tails is that Sonic can go Super Sonic, but Tails doesn't have any super powers when he gets all the Chaos Emeralds. At least, this was the case with Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Goddam Funny!! Not to detract from previous (which were all good) but this takes the cake! Funny from start to finish! Good on ya sir!!!

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who likes Luigi better than Mario.

In my opinion I like wario he actually has friends that are not dim witted twits that don't know the difference between a toaster and a cat.

on that note what exactly happened to waluigi

randommaster:
I just watched this, but I have no audio. While I'm sure there is some context behind it, Yahtzee shooting that kid in the head was funny.

I wonder what else he's playing on the DS?

I love that having no audio didn't stop you from watching it anyway. I've never thought about watching Yahtzee's videos on mute but I really want to now.

Thank you for favouring Luigi over that fat shite Mario.

And why does your hat never fall off?

Weird. I heard that Luigi's Luigi Luigi is the best Luigi RPG in the Luigi series. Even better than Luigi And the Legend of the Seven Luigis.

I have Mario and Luigi Bowsers inside story, And have to say: Bang on as usual Yahtzee. I really would've appreciated more side quests than the Bitties thing.

Yeah, Luigi is definitly better then Mario. When I would play Super Mario Bros. 3 on the SNES I would start off by killing Mario and then proceed with the rest of the game using Luigi.

I also find the lack of people being banned for posting "First" a bit disturbing, perhaps it's a sign of waning popularity? Less people willing to mock-suicide on Yahtzee's weekly review? Perhaps The Escapist should take a moment to encourage the behavior with a new badge to draw people out....

Otherwise I would prefer Mario and Luigi stay away from too many real world political metaphors (all jokes likening Mario to Stalin aside). Never played a Mario RPG, but that bit does turn me off to the entire idea.

Also as far as the Mario Brothers being inside Bowser [shrugs] it doesn't surprise me. I mean there was the big question of "where do you go after space?". Well the whole "Fantastic Voyage"/"Inner Space" thing is a science fiction clique they hadn't exploited yet. I mean honestly, it's so old it's new. It's just that nobody has beaten a game franchise into the ground quite enough to try adapting stuff like this. Amazingly I'd imagine Team Sonic is beating themselves upside the head for not having thought of it instead of doing "Sonic Vs. The Black Knight".

Just imagine Sonic running through the urinary tract of a cat girl, trying to remove the little box infection with a portable laser...

Or rather lets not.

Hmm... Anarchy. Fun.

Love the review this week. I haven't got to buy the game yet, because I'm too busy doing nothing in particular.

I will though.

finally iunderstand why i like luigi better than mario, i just needed someone to explain it

great review. loved it. funny and all that jazz.

Silk_Sk:
You got through one review without complaining about his overuse. Tits to you if you can get through the next four as well.

If he gets throught the next four then i will give him a freaking medal, the deed to my house, and a Bugatti Veron. Pretty much saying i really dought it.

Bowser's Inside Story......HAH! I get it! Though by now, who wouldn't want to play as Bowser or Luigi instead of that red-hatted twat. Good timing! One-eyed monster indeed....

what if your the middle child??

one older brother and one younger brother?

what type of illness would I have?

I love the fact that you point out that peach lives a few miles away from bowser in her unprotected castle

Another great review and I also prefer Luigi. He seems to be the most liked of the two brothers. It's a pity his own game sucked.

sibling-sandwich-itus (coincidently replace brother with sister and you have me).

I quite liked this game actually. I bought it in July while i was in Japan (ha ha to you guys the title isnt gay over there) and was quite disappointed when i saw the title/commercial for the US release. I wanted to take every one of those kids and beat them against a wall. Bowsers Inside Story? Couldnt they have taken the Japanese hint and just kept the number 3? I found #2 to be too easy and #1 a bit sluggish, but #3 i like because it adds something new and interesting. However, my biggest compalint is the section which you have to mask rocks to get past the giant caterpillar, which they probably removed for the american release because americans would whine about how hard it is. This section requires no skill, just constant mashing of your stylus and LUCK, every now and again you find a rock with something in it and that something will destroy (sometimes even clear the entire screen) rocks to an extent, if you dont find those fast you lose. But all in all, a fun but short game.

I never got into the Mario and Luigi games, I thought it had great charm but I also agreed the game was too easy and it wound up being repetitive so I couldn't get into it. Gameplay is what keeps me interested in a game not just the story alone.

I'm glad somebody as unbiased as yourself can state in plain terms who the better of the Mario brothers are. This game was definately easier than I expected, but Nintendo did a good job of keeping things entertaining.
While we're at it, with them being the Mario brothers and all, I just assume that their last name is Mario.

it's a chip butty. not a chip sandwich, a chip butty, it consists of greasy chip shop chips with lots of salt and vinegar between either heavily buttered white bread or inside a heavily buttered white roll. I know you have to pander to pre-pubescent Americans but you're still from England and here it's called a chip butty.I created an account just to say that...

I await my ban/suspension.

sister, brother, sister and i'm the brother, sorry if i wasn't clear before.

Okay, I was seriously not expecting this one. I thought it was going to be either Uncharted 2, Borderlands, or Brutal Legend. Of course Brutal Legend to the best of my knowledge hasn't been officially released in Australia but Yahtzee isn't the kind of guy who would let something like that stop him. I also hope he gets around to Demon's Souls at some point. That game is a JRPG but most, if not all, of the things he hates about JRPGs (like being assigned a role as opposed to creating one, bizarre hair styles, male characters that don't look masculine enough, and turn-based combat) seem to be conspicuously absent from the game. Now THAT would be something to look forward to. Although at the same time I am a bit curious about what he will think of Brutal Legend. That would seem to be the most likely choice for next week.

But having said that I think Yahtzee is probably at least somewhat of a masochist. No matter how many times Nintendo kicks him in the balls he always seems to come back for more sooner or later.

I was kinda hoping for Brutal Legend but oh well. It was still funny though.

see above post, read pages before posting. that is all.

What?
What's your problem?
What did I do that made you feel that you had to tell me how to do something?

I am an older bro.. but Luigi is my fav... he's got so much more personality... (not to mention that I adore his Smash fighting style)

nice review.. I really enjoyed it
