Seemed more like a review than your other songs to me, which I liked very much. The video was also one of the best, but the melody somewhat mediocre.

Erm ... let me get this straight. You want to report The Escapist's Brand Manager for advertising an event The Escapist is hosting on The Escapist in support of "Rebecca Mayes Muses," in the forum thread on The Escapist for the latest "Rebecca Mayes Muses" video?

Dude, get a grip.

I was being sarcastic. That's why I said the great and mighty part. I know who he is.

My mistake then. ;)

Although you'd be surprised how frequently we hear similar complaints that aren't sarcastic 0_o

Two words: Brain damage.

OT: Beautifully done, Ms Mayes.

Awesome video Rebecca; my new favorite!

Members of The Escapist! Rebecca is looking for some people to ROCK OUT in her next video: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/contests/register/rebeccaROCKOUT

Check it out and submit!

I agree in that this is my new favourite :) Also, Spinwhiz, isn't it your job to advertise? I say that in response to your following post and the post from Onyx Oblivion...

Anyway, why is it that my favourite video so far is also the shortest? That really disappointed me, because otherwise this one was absolutely great. I just wish it had been longer... :)

A quick shot song and all the lyrics were very true to the game. Bravo.

This one was kind of short, but I think that's because there was no instrumental section in the middle like there usually is.

Keep up the good work, Rebecca.

The song sounded great, nice to hear something that sounds fresh and new.

Kinda wish all the songs weren't "can't we all just get along" "Violence isn't the answer" and "the game was alright, but it made me squeamish"

If you don't like a touch of the ultraviolent, why don't you make songs about non-violent games? Like Animal crossing, or Mr. R.J. Fluffies tea party extravaganza?

this tune really appealed to me actually, your disapproval of all the non-needed and crude violence kinda made me feel "d'awwwww!" I like it :D

2 weeks and we get just 1 and half minutes of the same old jiggle? Well at least the lyrics were good.

It was really good and I liked it, but I've been waiting for this and the two minute length shocked me. I was just watching the video and suddenly it was over. Have you released the way to download the MP3s yet? I'd like to have them, or release an album and make sure it is marketed in Canada so I could buy it and pay you.

Great vid, Rebecca. I actually know one of those "disillusioned nerds", chainsaws/swears/etc., and he does indeed think that cursing up a storm will make him cooler.

it does not.

Oh, and Distorted Stu?

Distorted Stu:

I'm not the only one who thinks Rebecca is beautiful. Am I?!

You are not alone.

I disagree completely with her oppinion on the game, but I liked the song and the video so much that I'm almost changing my mind! Very well done indeed!!

Wow, that's some critique in music form. Good work.

And yes, I also think she's very beautiful.

I have to say, that has to be one of her best. Rebecca, please keep up the great work, I really appreciate how much effort you put into this. Vocals/instrumentation were wonderful as always and the lyrics were right on.

Distorted Stu:

I'm not the only one who thinks Rebecca is beautiful. Am I?!

Even if I wasn't completely desperate with almost nothing to live for, I'd agree with you. So, no, you are not alone. We should form some kind of fan club or something.

It definitely had a better video when it appeared on Gameswipe.

Love the song Rebecca, keep up the good work!
I really enjoy your lyrics, but something about the music is a bit annoying to me, not be mean or anything.

It was good and I understand that she isn't a profesional but I just felt the visuals were kind of corny, But the song was great.

Even though I already heard and saw it on the Charlie Brookers gameshow, it still remains a pretty good song. Nothing wrong with a little bit of recycling, like you recently did with the Resident Evil 5 one.

That was pretty cool, and kinda catchy. Also, I'm digging the artistic stuff you did with the subtitles there.

Back on-topic: Just fabulous. Wonderful, catchy, humorous... Damn, would you guys mind terribly if I started a Rebecca Mayes cult?[/quote]

second that...rebecca and her songs have been running through my head as my GF drones on and on about whatever it is she's droning on about...i do wonder though if she's a real gamer or if she simply recognizes the potential a beautiful singer/songwriter has in this genre

Well Miss Mayes. After having seen a few of these videos, i have to say i'm a little bit frustrated by what you're trying to do here. Most of your songs, or reviews, whichever you call them seem to be mostly negative. Slagging off either the game or it's playerbase. I don't think that having sex appeal, a pretty voice and nouveau art style is any excuse to refer to people as 'sad' or 'nerds' or whatever you occasionaly come out with - i find it insulting for the people who are being labelled as such by you just because they do like or play these games. Nor do i consider it fair the way you give such a negative perspective over a game for completely arbitrary reasons. Point in case being worms for having 'cartoon graphics' or bionic commando for 'trying to be spiderman'. It just feels so trivial.

On a side note, i do like the different artsyles you use and your voice has a pleasant ring to it. It just seems that your reviews can feel a bit... arrogant.

Interesting :) She looked really hot in that skirt XD Someone else has commented about they are still unsure about her music. And to a certain degree I see where you are coming from, but you have to understand, her style is different. She is kinda of the (and I hope she takes this the right way) Bjork of video game music?

P.S. I think that some people are jelous, while others i suspect, think that she has a B.F. and so aren't quite as nice as they might be with their comments? As in, if I can't tap it, I will bash it mentality.

great song, and for once i liked the video, i always thought that maybe just a video of you playing or even just the song would be better, but this time the visual was almost up to the standard of the audio.

Rebecca is getting better with the humour thing. I no longer feel like I'm just watching her videos because I'm a pervert (although I am), I'm actually starting to enjoy her stuff more than ZP lately.

I feel like the stop motion of this video should feature a warning for epileptics.

Enjoyed it as usual, Becks.

The fact that she's continuing to play violent games at all should probably give you some inkling that she's probably going about it with a sense of irony/humour. I highly doubt she actually just wants to hug zombies.

Though, yes, Rebecca Mayes is actually stunningly beautiful. If I was a zombie I would probably try to hug her... Though I may have lost my point somewhere in this post.

Oh yeah, the point - good song.

Short and sweet song, with a nice change to the video and lyric subtitles.
Good job! :D
