ZP's review is entertaining as always, though with the online multiplayer such a huge focus on Infinity Ward's part in Modern Warfare 2, I feel that Yahtzee's review is a bit incomplete. I'm not looking for him to praise the multiplayer like the second coming, I'd just like him to include it in such a multiplayer-heavy game such as this.
agreed that the story mode isn't that great, but co-op is fun as hell i'm amazed that yahtzee was even willing to try multiplayer, but given the solo's length that shouldn't be surprising although the idea of reaching through the monitor to throttle the hell out of annoying people online sounds like a wonderful idea
I'm not that fussed about this game. I will wait for a price drop because i'm not paying £45 for a single player game. I'm not that bothered about the multiplayer. I want a compelling single player game and if i wanted to play with friends i would just go bowling or something. Cus it doesn't cost £45 for the game and £40 to actually use the online for a year.
Makes me all the happier that I'm not a robot, and therefore I have more money for more 3in1 Oil. I would have to think the only people who are enjoying that bollocksed online multiplayer would be the robots who can one shot everyone from 500 yards away.
Ok. Now Yahtzee has torn it apart in the same way everyone else hasn't: Can we PLEASE shut up about MewTwo? I even promise not to say sparkle again.
Well not to be rude or anything but seriously...I was bored...I knew what he would say...I was bored...and I know what he'll say about assassin's creed 2
I agreed with most of it. Yes, the single player campaign is short which is a bummer, but it is so packed with action, that it was the best 6 hours of my gaming experience EVAARRRRRR. And no, I am not a fan boy. So yeah, good one :)
Unfortunately very true. Such a shame for what could have been an awesome game.
Wow. This review made me not like the game even more. Thanks for the head's up, Yahtzee. I'm not exactly a fan of the protagonist getting killed every 5 minutes either. That's just cheap.
Why thank you Yahtzee, my hat is very sweet.
I wonder if this review can apply to Mobilized at all? It doesn't have No Russian or anything, but, well...
That is 6 hours on Hardened. One step below Veteran(Hardest). If you play it on Easy or Medium you'll probably rush through it in 3 to 4 hours at most. Nice review but I found it a bit confusing, like the whole story in MW2. Still don't see what Shepard would gain to declare war with a nation.
I know exactly what mission you were talking about, Yahtzee... I died a lot in that one too, then BANG, your character is dead for good.
Took me 5 hours on Veteran. *shrug*
A good review while not spouting off the same bollucks we hear from everyone else. This is why we love you...and your British accent too...
They only get put on probation, which is really just like a warning. Unless of course they post something like 'I am a troll' in which case they get suspended!!!
So in other words the developers aren't even trying anymore. ...at least as far as story goes.
A good review, same he left out the multiplayer but I didn't expect him to include it so no big loss.
He asked "is it X, or Y" and you replyed with yes, maybe I'm just odd but I never know if people who do this are saying yes to X, Y or both.
Oh my God, that's terrible. I didn't realize it was that short. I don't see any excuse for any developer starting, say, in 1997, to not include both a thorough and original single play and a thorough and original multiplayer mode in absolutely any FPS and about 70% of action/sports/adventure games. The people that pay their bills deserve better!
Yes. | |
It really is tragic Yahtzee didn't play the online multiplayer, that's truly the selling point of the game. In fact, if it wasn't for achievements, that's probably the only thing I would've touched these past two weeks.
Why does it seem that every time yahtzee dislikes a game, everyone agrees?
I have to agree with him here. I do enjoy the game, but the story and "realism" of the first were nuked more badly the Sgt Paul Jackson.
Was it on 360? Because I saw that insane aimbot you guys had in SP which was just silly. It'd be easy if I had that too. Just snap aim on people and fire a bit.
good review keep the good work going and yay i live on a moon
Good review, loved the game regardless.
Wow, he actually talked really fast on this one.
Some of us are just not fond of multiplayer gaming. I find myself in that minority and am glad that someone popular makes reviews from that stand-point. I only buy games that focus greatly on the single-player campaign. That was the main reason I sold my copy of LittleBigPlanet after the third time I inserted the disc and was much more satisfied with the second hand MGS4 that I got with the money.
aaaaaaW :( I was hoping for Assasins Creed II! Or at least Borderlands. Good review though.
While I understand that some people don't enjoy online multiplayer the fact is that certain games, such as the Call of Duty series since they released the first Modern Warfare, are geared towards the online gaming community so most of the focus is put into the online multiplayer.
Probably the best part of the whole review was the fact that he didn't mention any of the shit pc gamers have been going on about the past month.
I did the SP in like 4 on hardened, and the story was quite stupid yes.
lmao thats a very good point haha probably because if they argue with yahtzee the world will explode =P
my problem with the review is that he seems to be trying for some kind of world record or something. I understand that an accelerated pace is part of the appeal, but at least before i could understand at least half of what he was saying even when he was doing it in an accent.

Bobby Khotick is the grand-evil of gaming, may he suffer long well after his death....
Also i can't help but feel co-op was only fun for another reason... hhmmmm.... oh yeah! other player interaction and the fact they kept those missions kinda simple
