Page 16 is where my comic dwells. Shame, I thought it was good but the judges know best :D

March is full of mayhem.
Mayhem? THIS IS MARCH!
What?

I'd kill to be on 16, lol. Mine's way back at 19.

suprized, it's good

Thanks, although I don't think the pages are ranked in order, it just sucks that it's way back, haha.

Congrats to the winner and honorable mentions! :D I will be following with much interest.

Oh, and I made it to page 10. It's fairly craptacular when compared to my fellow entrants ^^0

after reading most of em i cry a single tear, why didn't "Manly Guys Doing Manly Things" win, it was funny well drawn and i would dance till i peed myself if i could see 2 new comics each week.

Agreed. I loved the Bioshock strip.

At least the winner was still really good.

I really hope the writers of MGDMT keeps making them comics, because they're really really good.

I don't quite think it's as good as the winner, but I'd still read it.

Imma keep nesting this because I AGREE: I hope MGDMT keeps going, even though I'm so happy the winner won. Mr. Bubbles... <3

Alright, favorite non-featured comics! Who's got some?

I laughed at this, from NerdMental:

and thought this was pretty cool, even though it obviously had nothing to do with video games or, in fact, anything at all, from Video Noir:

Also, longyear! I frigging love your thing! More!

Just want to say thank you to Shamus Young for the kind words about my work!

obligatory congrats to the winner/mentions and everyone else...still reading through all of them!

Not sure what I'll do with it now but I'll think of something. Not too internet savvy...

Thanks again!

LACKT:
Awww,I didn't get any tips/comment...writes sad face on the sand with a stick...

I know what you mean, but it's an understandable situation. At over 300 entries, it's hardly plausible for every comic to get a comment, and I doubt the worth of the trouble of organizing who comments on what comic.

Of course at first when I found I didn't win (but what were the chances really?) I was worried that the winning comic wouldn't be very good... I was happily surprised to find out that is actually really awesome. Can't wait for more, congrats to Decoy, carry that torch high.

Congrats to all! Hopefully the very good non-winning entries (Manly Men, etc.) will continue elsewhere.

OK, so I didn't win, does this mean that Escapist magazine doesn't have any rights to my webcomic, and I can continue it anywhere else?

Good stuff. Mine's up here >> http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74256&ix=7

I think I'm gonna continue mine, and try less to make it gamer-y... I'm better at just random slice-of-life stuff!

Yeah to the winner! Make sure you show your support in the coming weeks! Don't just disappear guys, some people would like some feedback/reviewing of their nonwinning comics!

Congratulations to the winner!

I didn't win but I made it to the Honorable Mentions, which is way more than I expected! Even though I can't believe I actually managed to get there when there were stuff like Manly Guys, Difficulity Up, and The Last Shot.

If people like it I may make it a weekly thing either over at my website or some other place that offers hosting.

Haha, I laughed so hard from the last panel on the 4th comic it made me pee a little (figuratively speaking of course). Nice stuff.

Sweetness. I'm posting them little by little over on my deviantart too until I get a place set up for them. I brushed off some old website code I've had lying around for a year and a half and put it up on new hosting -_-;

Hi Guys,
Congratulations to the Winner, any feedback on my comic would be appreciated http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74326&ix=10

This was my one: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74315&ix=9

On reflection, I think perhaps I made it a bit too weird. Some people I've shown it to have been genuinely quite disturbed by Trojan, for example. A character whose physical form consists of a horse's head and spinal cord on wheels is creepy, apparently. This didn't occur to me at any point while drawing him, which probably just goes to show something, but I'm not sure what.

Really?

But.. it's just another Ctrl+alt+Del / Penny Arcade... with a female protagonist. Go with what you know I suppose. The one that struck me most was the Game Noir comic.

Kudos to RetroRobot.

I agree with pffh- please continue manly men somewhere, so I can follow it! It's awesome and awesomely drawn.

I like the winner too.

Wow, Honourable mentions, I guess that's...
Something, I guess...
Wouldn't have minded the prize to be honest...
Ah well, I guess I gotta wait another 8 years for a decent shot.

Grats to the winner.

(no link my comic, I'm not continuing it, it's all right though, I got others...)

[edit]: It also pains me to see that my PNG. format logo comes out looking like arse...

This forum is a lot slower (And making more sense) that the catastrophic mess that was the pre-announcement forum! ;)

Congrats to all for the good work. My faves were "Girls Don't Game", "Manly Guys..." and "Out of Tens". Too bad that there can be only one winner.

I'm surprised that Manly Guys didn't win. Oh well, no accounting for taste, I suppose.

Why, where did our persistent friend Titankore go? Could it be he buggered off once he realised that his work was sub-par?

Wow. Honorable Mention. That's WAY better then anything I was expecting... Even if I'm at the bottom of the honorable mention. Whatever I'll take it! Funny considering this is the first time I've ever made a webcomic. Beginner's luck maybe?

Congrats to the winner and the rest of the Honorable mentions. Some of them caused me to laugh so hard I nearly pissed myself.

I might continue making the comic. I really enjoyed doing it.

Hope you do, I enjoyed your submission. If you start it anywhere let us know, I'll have to put it on my list of "comics to read"

Kudos to RetroRobot.

Well, Ctrl + Alt + Del and Penny Arcade are both popular, so why bother with quality work when you can have a knock off with elements from BOTH of themost popular internet comics evar? Purrfekt lawjik iz purrfekt!

congards to the winner.

Ulimately this has been an important learning experience for me. I went the wrong way with my submission and I see it now. I should have done a lot more to set up my characters and setting. While I'm sad about not being recognized, in hindsight I see what the winners and the mentions did so right and what I did so poorly.

So to the Escapist I say thanks for a unique opportunity to examine my own work. This has been helpful in a lot of ways. And here's hoping that there will be a second annual "Escapist Webcomic Contest".

Manly guys doing manly things is definitely my favorite. I wish they get a website and keep making more of them. Hope the Escapist gives them a shot as well.

But, cheers to all who participated and although only one comic won, lots of them have serious potential (such as the last shot and paused in my opinion). Hope you guys keep making more of them!

Figured I might as well swing by with the strips I had lined up in case I won (which we all know I didn't) good thing I thought ahead and made a losers version of the winner's strip.

And then another one commenting on the state of Facebook.

[no, I have no idea why this one is smaller...]

Just figured they'd only be gathering techno-dust in my picture folders if I didn't put them up here.

Well, i gave it my best.

here i am:

I mean no ill will, this is me just being weird.
Thanks, Escapist. You gave me something to do for a month.

cool grats to the winner! At least I can go on with my life now hahaha, well at least I can consistently have updates stocked for my comic for a little bit. That was what killed me, pulling outs 4 new ideas at once. Holy crap yea. Yay for Vector logos!

mine's in page 12, sparkly doom comics (eh whatever this thread is full of linkage as it is). I hope to see you all on the internets continuing your work, joining comic collectives and stuffs. If anything this contest brought us together, made us aware of colleagues, and helped us analyze our art style :). Good good fun all and grats to winner and mentions!

Damn You Escapist,I will never come back...Oh,hey a New Zero Punctuation...

Stick around, /co/mrade. I think we're only getting started.

*image redacted*

Gotta say, thus far, Manly Men seems to be the one that's had me laughing the hardest, but Robot Viking Ninja Pirates has me interested the most. That being said, all of these were great and I'd like to see more of each of them.

No promises, but I'm starting to think there may be a place in the world for my comic as well.
