It's surprising how often gaming skills translate into the real world.

Lolwut? But awesome at the same time xD

What kills me is eating the universe only was only worth 10G.

lolwut?

Funny, although not quite the funniest in my book.

Keep up the good work!

achievement whores ;)

Kirby gone wild.

That was awesome.

...Wait, what? I didn't get that. It's funny, but I don't get it.

That was... I'm not sure what it was, outside of entertaining to read... good work and stuff.

*Scratches head*

I don't get it, but it was still an enjoyable read.

Im not sure I got but but still hilarious! lol

Achievement! yayness!

What is this I don't even... something about fourth dimensional power mushrooms...

what? oh wait, i get it-BOOM HEAD EXPLODE.

Only 10 Gamerscore for that? Not worth it to me. Should have been at least 20G, amirite people?

Punchline: Haha, Video Games. C'mon I don't mean to be such an ass, but I know you can do better than this.

Wasn't the comic storyline a guitar hero exclusive?
With... 4th dimensional hypercubes?!

Still entertaining though

Erin Stout:
Eat it bitches! I'm transcending time and space!"

That and "Hold on, I got this." were the funniest parts. I liked her "hold my bag, I'm gonna destroy the universe" face.

Well...have you see the universe, when you average the content/volume ratio there really isn't much there.

On another note, you have to love when the world makes sense. Really, any hanging box must be punched, just in case.

HaraDaya:

Yeah, it should at least be 15G

SirBryghtside:
That was awesome! Made me laugh more than any other one!

Same here, you ninja.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to go look up Miegakure again! When the heck is it going to get officially released?

Also, nice strip.

You get an achievement for eating the universe? I should already have about five of those.

Made me laugh, very bizarre.

But... But... Mario is a Nintendo game... You can't get an achievement for eating the universe if you eat it with Nintendo power-ups!
Maybe if you use a chainsaw/gun combination to cut it into small pieces though?

EDIT: Also, woo! 1200th post!

That needs to be an actual achievement.

That. Was awesome.

I swear to God this made some actual sense when I was writing it. Originally this strip was supposed to be making fun of Miegakure and this hilariously overblown article on it. It begins by implying that Marc Ten Bosch is the game designing equivalent of Dr Manhattan from Watchmen before going on to tell us the game will pretty much change the world as we know it. The video that follows is, to low brow, rock biters such as ourselves, completely underwhelming. The game looks clunky and unpleasant and while Bosch claims the game is an accurate 3d model of a 4d universe, as Cory pointed out when we talked about it, he could be just making shit up. How could we tell?

Anyway eventually we found poking fun at a game because we don't understand it and because articles reporting on it are throwing around technical jargon with gleeful abandon was kind of obnoxious. Which is when our famed synergy kicked in.

"Dude. Know what was awesome?"
"What?"
"The giant sand-tiger head from Aladdin. We should put that in there."
"Fuck yeah."

And no sense was made.

So, so great.

The caption has no relevance to the comic.

Then again, the comic makes no sense anyway. Still funny lol

Yeah one of the other escapist peons writes those. I like to think whoever it was just kind of stared at the strip for a long moment, tilted their head, then just went; "fuck it" and wrote whatever. I do not blame them.

Grey Carter:
Snip.

Don't worry, your comic still made more sense than the actual article you were riffing off of. I got up to the part about Mario and slices before I said, "You know what? Fuck this. This article is spending more time trying to explain the concept of the 4th dimension to me than the actual game they're supposed to be talking about." When you think about it, that's even more ridiculous, since the whole point of Miegakure is that it's supposed to be helping people understand the 4th dimension, right?

Isn't the fourth dimension time?

Actually, I just read the article you provided and the caption and comic makes sense now. The caption refers to Ten's "ability" to obviously "perceive the 4th dimension" and all of that other bullcrap, as exaggerated by Kotaku.

Does this mean gamerscore has some transdimensional value; or does it simply come from a source not bound by reality? Does it spring from some empyrean realm from beyond time, or was it left behind by some unknowable being, discovered in some eldritch ruin off the edge of the map?

You may be on to something here, my good doctor, and I fear its roots stretch far past our imagining.
