Maybe a bit harsh to say, but this episode, to me, is one of the best yet.
Loved the fact that 2 of the characters died, now just kill the rest and end the series please.
I bet this is a show from the future. Like what Apocalypse lane did.
The video is called Road trip on the main page, but Hand of Fate in the movie itself, how odd. Although I find Road trip more fitting for the movie. On the video: it had it's moments (law-jokes and "sigh"), but that bloody beating was...overdone. Gore isn't the solution for everything.
Just great! WOOOO! Like a phoenix it will be reborn! REEEEBOOOOOOOORNNNNNN I TELL YOU!!!!
That was pretty messed up..........why are you only picking off the likable characters?
You kill off the two characters everyone could stand, in the darkest ways possible, and made Bob basically a Murderer? Yeah, I am gonna stop watching this now, though I will admit I did laugh a little at the Law Jokes.
There's a huge difference between this and Looney Tunes: When Bugs Bunny gets Daffy Duck Shot, Daffy doesn't die. He gets a little hurt yes, but it's not something he can't recover from. Whenever someone gets hurt in Looney Tunes, it's all just for laughs and no one dies. Plus, the show is actually more a show of wits: The smarter person avoids getting hurt, the dumber person gets hurt, but not alot and doesn't die. (PLEASE NOTE: However, I do not think your psychotic or anything for enjoying it. I simply didn't)
1. I just pointed out that I wasn't so much offended as I was appalled that they would throw something like this out of nowhere with no warning. I don't like watching someone innocent getting beat to death while verbally denegrated. I just said I'd watch something like that if it were used in an intelligent manner, but not when its, "Oh, hi, we're taking this crude comedy humor show and turning it into a furry snuff film without warning!" 2. I don't think you have mental issues. I was just pointing that out as a possible reason for why a person would be able to enjoy gratuitous violence handled so callously. I do think you say that you find it funny because the groups and people you want associate yourself with endorse finding violence funny. 3. I didn't say you were a stain on society. I'm completely serious. My mother worked for years at the local asylum, so I've grown up aware of the implications of mental health issues. I have friends who have some mental health issues, and when they don't take care of their problems, they cause pain and problems for the people that care about them. Or how about my goddamned father, who instead of getting help for his many issues, abusing the people I love physically and emotionally for years while wasting his trust fund, stealing my sister and my inheritances, and now trying to get welfare even though he hasn't paid taxes in years, making himself a literal burden on society? Oh, and this sadist hurt my dog. He killed at least four dogs, injured and caused many other dogs heat stroke. When the public became aware, he murdered his own wife in front of their young children and then took his own life. People who find joy in hurting others really need to get help. Yes, they do have the artistic license to do what they want with their characters, but just because they have the license to do it, doesn't mean they've done it artistically. South Park, while just as crude as this, does have a certain tact when using violence in humor. When the sadistic kid does cruel things to other people and insult them, the writers have encapsulated this despicable nature into an exaggerated example of this guy you really wouldn't want to be. For every extreme and offensive comment or character trait, there's another one right around the corner to balance it out and make their argument that the world's this crude cess pool of human flaws. Or whatever the topic of the specific episode is. If you found it funny because of an apparent commentary on the general perception of the show and the legal issues, then why did you say, "Yay gratuitous gore and violence"? I can see no purpose other than to try to get a reaction from people.
Wow. That was just dark and completely tasteless. I can't believe that was made as anything but a joke, besides that it was actually aired. Plus they managed to get rid of the two least annoying characters. I guess if you run out of ideas for your show you might as well completely lose your audience's respect? Whatever floats your boat.
Never back down from what you want to do based on the opinions of others. It's your show, you're the artists, do with it as you will. That said, this was hands down the least enjoyable Game Dogs I have ever watched. Thank you for your time. I probably will not be watching next week.
That would be cool. Oh... and it should have been Chet. People hate "idea dogs".
Beth got the least votes, so I think her dying was just to screw with us before Roger (who got the most votes) hung himself. I'm willing to bet this is a stand alone episode apart from the rest of the series. I mean, you just can't continue when two of your three main characters die off.
um.... not very funny at all, the only comedy was the after credits reference, it was not foreshadowed in the least besides that one contest so it's a completely unnecessary plot screw up, and dark without needing to be. this show was light of tone humor before now, where did that go? the only other time was Bob's flashback. Hell, kill off bob and get the light of tone back. Apocalypse lane had a dark tone, but it fit and was still amazingly funny, same with doomsday arcade at many times, but here, it's not needed and just unnecessarily grotesque. sick for the purpose of being sick.
perhaps its a joke | |
Are you shitting me? | |

If I see one more game dogs episode like this I am calling it quits and giving up on the series.
Rather tasteless. I mean, there was no point to that. There's no reason those characters died. None at all. It was handled very poorly. I'm not saying it was too shocking or too disturbing. Actually, it was barely disturbing at all. I've seen End of Evangelion, and I've read Gantz. Those are disturbing. This... not so much. Anyway, I just want to say it was very poorly done. It wasn't funny, if that's was what you were going for, and brutalizing her mangled body because she wsa still alive? Poor form. Talk about kicking the dog, no pun intended. Not to mention the meaningless suicide at the end. Roger had no reason to commit suicide AND suicide isn't funny. I spent too much time convincing certain people NOT to commit suicide to be able to laugh at that. My best friend in high school tried to slit his wrists because he "couldn't take it anymore". Do you think that's funny? Its not.
Just to butt in, I agree with Erana on this. If you can find an episode of Looney tunes with as much gore as was in this, then fair game. Also, their is a big difference between audible humour and visual. This seems in very bad taste, it would be nice if they put up a warning on this. They have the right to publish what they want, and if they found it funny as people on this site has, fair enough. A heads up would have been nice though.
That just about nails every point I was going to make, I concur completely.
That was awful, it was kinda funny at first but then you kinda pushed it to far. This feels like it should be one of those things where at the end it says April Fools but it didn't. So........ really Im really disappointed in this series now, it was just starting to get good but since two of the 3 of the main and best characters died its over, unless they come back as vampires.
I have played Amnesia the dark descent , Dead space 1 and 2 and watched the most horrifying movies you can think of [ Dunno why I started with that lawl ] , this ep sucked major donkey ass , of all the sh** you can think of if your gonna kill one ok I don't care because it means at least 1 good char remains , but instead they killed both smart move assholes , again why why didn't you kill Shit[I mean Chet ] , ugh do it right and at least kill them all you sick mothe***kers !!! This didn't even have dark humor in it [ no humor at all wtf??? ]!!!
Who mentioned the knives? I didn't. It was meant for comedic effect, and did it very well. This is a comedy, and while gratuitous cartoon gore can be funny when done to a certain degree, they missed it with this episode. And telling me not to watch it is kind ass-backward. I do like the show, I just didn't like this episode.
OK now this was the first episode when I really laughed out loud several times. Also, the amount of butthurt in this thread is most pleasing.
I'm just gonna say that this ep is probably not canon IMO and I don't get the whole "O SHIZ TEH VIOLENCE IT BURNNNNZZZZZZZZ MEH!" thing, it wasn't that bad guys. The lack of purpose was a bit disappointing though and there was no awesome comedy death just a random hit and run within the first 10 seconds. But meh it wasn't that bad assuming that it isn't canon of course, if it is canon then.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
._. Me too. It was like...hypnotizing. In any case, guys, out of line. It wasn't funny, and it was just disturbing. I actually like Chet, Roger, and Bethany and all these news characters are just annoying to me. I liked Game Dogs when it was still about dogs that, you know, made games. But this Season 2 has turned into something completely different and there hasn't been a single episode I've liked. Especially this one. It's a good thing that I actually browsed the comments before because if I hadn't, and I just dove into the video blindly without knowing at all what was coming, I'd probably feel a little dead inside right from how disturbing the episode was. I think I was one of the few that actually liked Game Dogs when it was new and just starting, and for Season 2, I've tried to stand by it and hope that the "old" Game Dogs would come back and I'd like it again, but it hasn't been...and this just proved that for sure. You've changed all the characters from before into complete maniacs and the ones that you haven't changed are being killed off in really brutal ways. I just don't like it at all. The Game Dogs before was something unique and sure, maybe it wasn't the best on the Escapist, but it was cute and it had a charm to it. Well, that's gone and replaced by blood and gore and tasteless attempts at "humor." Sorry, I tried to still like Game Dogs. But I think this is it for me.
interesting.... people havent seemed to found the 4 clues yet. edit: my bad. One of them has been found.
The same alien ships that are flying over New York? :)
This show is so going downhill. I liked it in the first series where they were showing some insight into some game developers' lives, but from the start of the second season this series started to get worse and worse...
Okay, what the fuck did I just spend four minutes watching? And was it supposed to be funny? Other than that one joke that was funny, I mean. I liked the direction Season 2 was going in except Bob, but apparently Bob's new direction is the favorite character change of the writers.
There are clues? I didn't think you guys had any deeper meaning then to write characters of a highly criticized show to increase viewership.
Mmmm. I think most are too busy looking at the shark Game Dogs just jumped to worry about clues, TBH.
Quick Russ! Give the characters you killed ghost so it is less sad! (since they didn't really die die just die.)
Say.. Wasn't Beth the one to get the LEAST votes for death? :P

I think I agree... Maybe it's because suicide in general should just never be funny, or because I had a friend die in a car accident a couple weeks ago, but... This was just revolting. I strongly dislike this show and I hope that it's pulled soon.
No offence meant to the creators or anything, but this just wasn't good at all. I'm not sure why the Escapist is pushing this show so hard when it produces this kind of distasteful content.
