What's that? A sequel to a game made just before the games industry collectivly went full retard? And no cover system or unexplained regenerative powers? I'll take five, please.
Loved the Vid, as I always do, and I was actually suprised he liked it. Though he didn't talk much about the controls, the most being that it took him awhile to figure it out, huh, i guess he did talk about the controls then Won't lie, I'm still holding out for him to review Spiderman Shattered Dimensions ^^
Holy shit, he likes it. Having said that I know I'd hate it. I'm not buying it.
I heard that, but that doesn't really excuse it in the slightest, how many people use memory drives instead of HDD's anyway? How does a glitch like that make it past playtesting? Honestly.
I know it's a bit stupid, but I have a memory drive for all Gamertags on my console. Recovering takes way too long.
Wow a positive review, but the thing that really shocks me is that I had more complaints about it then Yahtzee and don't get me wrong I fucking love this game, it an across the board improvement of the first but I did have some problems with it. also I forked over the extra $20 for the collectors edition.
yeah, it was fun. | |
Good review like always
Wait, he "likes" a game I'm currently scrambling money for? *scrambles for money harder*
I thought the opposite. It wasn't hugely informative but it was funny as all get out. I think a lot of what I know about the new game comes mostly from playing the old one recently, but at the same time, I'm laughing at a lot in this video. And to follow up on that, a bit of it becomes evident mostly because I played Case Zero. Granted, as I watch ZP for entertainment, that's fine. I want this game, but between DR 1 and CZ, I'm not sure I want to pay full sticker price.
Killing Floor? You can only kill around 32 of them until the game spawns the rest, but Killing Floor seems like a good choice for that. OT: Great review, Yahtzee. I might want to give Dead Rising 2 a try now. I'll wait for Christmas sales.
Good review, one of the best I have seen in quite a while. I was thinking of getting Dead Rising 2, but after I played the demo I decided against it.
Great vid, as always O_."
It closed down last year, I was heart broken as it was the place I regularly went to and bought old games for years (I seemed to pick up 10 dollar 64 games etc. everytime I went out xD). It really sucks as there's pretty much nowhere else to get good stuff now unless you want to buy the new shit which I rarely do. eBay is pretty much it. Worst of all it got replaced by a PHONE ACCESSORY store, which used about half its floorspace and closed down after a month or two (also was right across from another little phone accessory stand in the middle of the walkway). Can't remember what's there now. Basically Game stole a bunch of their business, Traders weren't told there was going to be a game store literally about 15 metres away from them. I miss that place.
Oh man, first ZP i've properly laughed at in a while.
Maybe that's why he said it wasn't best to bring up what was done on the first date...? Hmm...? Good review, though I'm still a little sad that they've retained the whole "72 hr" shtick from the first. And you really need to pay people to save them...? Well... I know what to write on the apology card... "Sorry for not saving your Grandmama, she was too busy playing the slots to run away from the zombies, and when I tried to save her, she glued herself to the stool and told me to 'sit on it', and that she'd only hobble away from the zombies if I payed her fifty grand. Her wheelchair did make a nice weapon though, she wasn't needing it anyways."
Please tell me that giant "share" button over the video isn't going to become a regular thing.
Glad to see even ZP is positive about the mindless fun this game provides ^_^
Average American response to Gaming Pro Tip: *rolls eyes* Yeah ok, whatever.
Sounds quite fun, though from what I'd heard, you'd be able to be a bit more creative. Anyway: Anybody think Yahtzee will review/like Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine when it comes out? It's a shooter without cover-based combat, and we all know how much he hates that system...
He likes this game? Thats rare!
Couldn't help but notice you didn't mention the online game Terror is Reality. Have you simply not played it? Just thought it might be something to mention on Extra Punctuation.
One off my favourite reviews yet. I LOVED IT!
Chest vagina, teehee. He loves the game, nice. the jokes are funnier than ever, loved the review.
I was surprised that Yahtzee didn't make the observation that Chuck Greene is denser than osmium. Seems like such an open door to kick in. "I've been framed for starting the outbreak and everyone knows my name from the news. Gee, how should I deal with apparently psychotic people? Hey, I know! I'll just tell them who I am instead of lying like any sensible person would!" Otherwise I think the review is pretty much spot on. The difficulty on the first run is ridiculous. Boss Fight Mechanics are pretty stupid in general. For example, the enemy becomes invulnerable while they're telegraphing their own attacks.
ahhh yeah the defiler^^
He's right about the whole water cooler game aspect. In fact the best way to play the Dead Rising games is with a group of friends passing the controller around and making fun of the crazy stuff you can do in it. Yahtzee just sold me the game. Yay. Next time, DR2 will be mine!
I wholeheartedly agree with the notion of Capcom being incapable of making even a mediocre plot-line that makes some sense.
Haha! As usual fantastic - Although glad to see they changed forumla up a lil
Definitely one of the better games I've in quite a while. What I really feel this game needs though, a Free Roam mode. Not like the survival mode from the first one (that would be to have back too), but just no story missions. Overall though, great game and a great video
I dont even have to think of some joke or bad pun to make that funny.
I keep seeing a lot of complaints about the time limit. People do realize that it can be completely ignored in favor of whatever you want right? That is one of my favorite things about both Dead Rising games. You can completely decide how you want the game to play out, rescue all the survivors, focus on the storyline, or just kill everything in sight. And the time limit allowed the world to feel like it was alive, since events happened whether you were around to witness them or not. All in all, I liked the review, and was pleasantly surprised by how positive it was.

That is a glitch they're working on that only affects the HDD, if you save to a memory drive then it doesn't disconnect you.
