You know, I never played the original Diablo's, but I'm looking forward to this now and after trying out the gameplay style in Torchlight.

Blizzard said the Barbarian would be the only returning class. Didn't everyone from the last game go insane except the Barbarian?

I can't wait for Diablo III...I just kinda feel bad I never played Diablo I and never beat Diablo II. But meh, fun is fun :D

I feel like I've grown out of Blizzard, because that entire trailer just made me cringe.

Wow what a disappointment.... a demon hunter could have been so much cooler than that Asian-MMO-looking class.

Pretty much what I was thinking. One minor niggle, though... what's with the high heels? Not exactly practical. At least the rest of her armor makes sense, in a "provides a balance of protection and freedom of movement" manner rather than "let's see how little of her we can cover in platemail and nothing else for the rest" like you see in a lot of other female armor designs.

I normally play ranged characters in these games and crossbows are certainly my aesthetic weapon of choice but to be honest I thought she looked pretty ridiculous. It was nice to see her fully covered but dual wielding collapsible mini-crossbows? Shotgun crossbows? Bola firing crossbows?

I was really looking forward to this character, first since it was obviously going to be the ranged specialist and second because the other four classes didn't do much for me. At this point I'm not sure I'm going to pick Diablo 3 up; hopefully something will catch my eye later on.

At least she's smart and wearing full-body armour. Not any of that jrpg stuff were half your body is uncovered and still somehow prestine and undamaged after many battles etc. Kinda like the game already.

People complaining about the dialogue have clearly never played a Blizzard game before. Their dialogue is the very definition of Narm Charm. It's ALWAYS been like that.

I mean, have you guys played WC2? "The orcs... have DRAGONS...!!!!"

Thing is, the old Warcraft Games didn't take themselves so damn seriously. Unit reactions to orders were Oneliner Overkill, but that just matched the games' cartoonish style. But in Diablo it's just bad writing cause all the humor fled the scene when the first art designer combined the word "hell" with "dark and gritty setting". "Narm" may qualify, but I think the "charm"'s gone missing.

..she look a bit too static in gameplay, i expected to see her moving around shooting in one fluid motion.

Ugh; well it's a good thing she takes the time to apply makeup and lip-gloss every morning before hitting the road.

Oh I liked the Amazon well enough, but when you hit this level of detail, a bit more creativity would have been nice.

Also; how come Starcraft and WoW's cinematic trailers look like animated movies while the Diablo III clips look like something an indie developer would make as a pitch piece?

Still not feeling it... this cringe fest is high generic fantasy, not Diablo.

New class looks like a nightelf... great imagination blizz.

I do like the lore of this character. Recoiled at it at first, because yeah, Warcraft, but it's growing on me. I think I remember saying to someone that I'd like to see a demonologist character, but I was thinking of a more magical class than someone who actually uses demon blood to burn things or something. But this is better than magic, because demon teeth explode. There's no willingness to bargain with or appease demons at all, just mash them all into hellspawn-brand explosive goo. Plus there's a secret society vibe to it, the way you can't be recruited unless you survive intense demon attacks. I like those parts. It's my favorite of the 5, from what I've seen this far.

The armor covers her, but it looks very intricate and probably magical, which I think is a mistake. This character would do better with simple and effective protective gear, like the paladin in D2. The recoil on those hand crossbows looks far too intense in the cinematic, but hopefully this won't be a problem in the game. I wouldn't mind having to use crossbows for some of those abilities, but I expect to see other weapons too, like with the Amazon. And finally, it would be pitiful if it turns into an emo goth (read: sparkly vampire) class. I could see people talking about Twilight whenever a Demon Hunter is around. *shudder*

Things I'm sitting on the fence about: glowing eyes, popularity, writing. Eh, we'll see.

The more I see of this game the less enthused I get. Weird.

maybe its because the characters are getting too powerful? in the original and D2 Demons were something to be feared something that the player character would have to take seriously or face certain death. Im all for conviction in the face of overwhelming odds, but so far the PC's seem to be walking all over the opposition...maybe a mod would correct this?

Amazon + Assassin, in one class of win.
Since they + paladin were my favourite D2 classes, I think it is safe to say I'm likely to roll demon hunter now!
