Starcraft 2

Rebecca Mayes explores the life of a Starcraft II addict.

T'was an excellent song indeed :). Been looking forward to this ever since I found it would be Starcraft 2 through Twitter...

Thumbs up for having fun, but as someone from that area might say, "It doesnt strike my fancy."
Right? q.p

The only other one of these I've seen is the Halo: Reach one, and although that didn't appeal to me at all, I found this both pretty funny and to be a really enjoyable song. :D

oO why only alpha ingame footage? ;o

Nice song anyways.

Ah. something about those Colossi threw me off. Now I know what :)

Some of the best lines about Starcraft II.. I've got a face like a ferret and a costume designer.. Serious LOL's there.

Ahaha! Funny :D Although I must say, this is (I think) the closest-to-the-game song I've seen from you so far. Both good (as in it's very apt) and bad (as in it lacks a universality that most of your other songs feature). Music-wise, I thought it rocked, though. Good stuff :) Oh, and nicely directed video too!

I'm guessing she didn't quite like it though; calling it a fancy spreadsheet and all.

Im gonna play this song in the car and people will say "wow, this is a great song. Im trying to understand what it means, though. Face like a ferret, insect king? Is this a The Doors cover?" lol

I'm I the only one seeing that Rebecca Mayes more or less is completely over video games? Maybe even down right dislikes them. I mean the first videos she put out were clever critiques of video games in song form. The last 8 or so videos however have more or less all said "get off your ass stop playing video games and live a real life." I don't think she even plays these games much anymore. The entire Halo reach song was based off a speech by Nelson Mandella.

Video games just seems out of her element. She's a hippie bohemian, a free spirit who likes being outside and swimming in streams... Rebecca... if you don't like video games... just move on. You're a ridiculously talented song writer. Just put out your own album inspired by your own words. You don't need this anymore.

She is making her own album

OT: I liked this song, it is better than her last few.

Great!!
I was starting to miss your songs =)

Good song! I prefered the Halo reach one.
Also I don't know why but it remined me of the Gorillaz song Monkey Mountain.

I've only watched a couple of these videos. They all seem essentially the same to me, in style and lyrics.
And besides the line about resource management she could've just written this based entirely on the trailer. Which I have a feeling she did.

This was one of my favorites, keep it up :D

"Face like a ferret" really made me smile.

This brightened up a gloomy day considerably. Thank you!

Excellent refrain and a really good song. Not enough to top Halo Reach, but I thought it was really good nonetheless.

haha, I also loved the face like a ferret comment. ALSO, I'm in love with a game that is essentially a spreadsheet... good one.

Lovely, catchy, funny... good job, Mayes.

Kinda hope he gets to play a good game sometime soon :=)

Is she supposed to be dressed as a space marine?

the kitty's called "Cloudy?" >.>
poor creature :P

OT: loved it. "essentially a spreadsheet" SC2: WoL may be, but we love it anyway ;)

A great song as always. Some very clever lines in there that really made me smile. Nice work.

Catchy tune Miss Mayes, I loved it. Great Job. :)

I liked this song. I thought at the beginning after I read the description that it wasn't going to be that great and the music kinda brought me closer to thinking that but when the lyrics and the acting started I found it to really funny and ultimately liked it. Also I forgot Zeratul used his blade as a lantern in that cinematic and Cats rule. :P

Although I love Starcraft II even with it's sometimes cheesy story line, that spreadsheet line cracked me up. I wish she would break down other stuff like that, too bad since this is primarily a gaming website that she can't do that for say, racing, or politics. :D

LOL, stock synth.

I think I liked this one better than most: the lyrics were quite clever and seemed to rhyme effortlessly; also, the tune was catchy, and I've always liked Rebecca's voice.

This one gets an 'A' from me, for whatever that's worth... (not much)

Don't feed the troll, else we'll find ourselves in another flame war which ultimately simplifies to one side yelling "Saying you like it won't get her attention, you fat geeks!" and the other side yelling "Just because YOU don't happen to like something doesn't mean that it's universally bad, you egocentric fucks!"

Sorta nerddom's M.A.D., really...

She´s freakin hot. Sings unbelivable and play games. She could spill crums in my bed any day.

Interesting, it seems to me that Rebecca is adressing every single of my previous complaints about recent songs, what a great thing for my overblown ego. Nice to hear some diffrent vocal pitches, keep up the good work exersising that voice. Lyrics also back on the gaming track, "shitload of greengas" - outstanding!

I am bummed we have to wait so long for each song, but gams made up for it I suppose.
Not a fan of SC2 so I kind of dug the song as a critique.
Cannot wait for the non-games-related album.

very catchy.
it makes me sad that i have to wait so long for each song though.

I like it.

Didn't expect her to say "shitload".

So would it be fair to say, Ms. Mayes, that you found the game hard to take seriously?

Some very funny, enjoyable lyrics there. Kind of an interesting Doors-style organ riff. Liked this one.
