The Escapist Film Festival 2010: The Assault Horizon

The Assault Horizon

The 2010 film festival winner! Based on the popular game by Ace Combat's Assault Horizon. Get a taste for Col. Akula in this ass kicking video mix of some of the greatest "Low Pass" and "Sonic Boom" footage all cartoon mixed to some of the best royalty free music mix on the net! This is a "must see." This is not only the best video entry, but the best you will find anywhere on the internet as well!

Watch Video

Nice bit of plane porn there, showcasing the...Mirage 2000 if I'm not mistaken and another fighter I couldn't recognise. This gets my thumbs up!

I... uh... what?

Yay planes!

You should have called this video "Plane Crazy". Anyways, it was okay, though I am not sure how your going to have a series out of this.

Yah I got the pun...I'm so Mad.. I hate you guys. In the most non-hate-able way possible Lol.

I like planes!

Pilot episode...

...Nothing happened.

This is just sad.

EDIT: All right, because this author found it fit to seek out my other comments and call out my own video in OTHER contestant's topics (AND MORE THAN ONCE), I will clarify what I meant. I thought it more charitable to be brief, an error I won't repeat.

This appears to be a music video of royalty-free music cut to footage of planes with a filter over it (possibly from iMovie). This is not gaming humor, regular humor, gaming drama, regular drama, or anything that really embodies what I think The Escapist was looking for in this contest.

My question: how would this be a series on the Escapist? This same video every week? Different vehicles? Different filters? Different music? What? Where is the longevity?

What it looks like to me (and because of the claim that it's a 'film festival winner') is a short film that was already made for something else and was submitted to this contest in the vain hopes it would inspire some attention for this film and those who produced it. If this is true, this is a truly desperate and cynical attempt at garnering even the most meager attention that your product can't inspire any other way because of the choking mediocrity it inspires.

Furthermore, one of the stipulations of the contest is that the content is all original and hasn't been released anywhere else before. If this is a 'film festival winner,' that means it's been released somewhere else, doesn't it? Wouldn't that disqualify this entry?

If this is wrong, please let me know where I have erred in my analysis, and if the explanation satisfied, I will sincerely apologize. But I really don't see where I could have erred.

I'm sorry I was curt in my first analysis, but please don't drag this into other topics next time you're not happy with what I say.

And I'll say again. Don't be a sore loser because your video didn't do any better, and who are you to think you can go around bashing everyone's videos on here because you're something special. In the end you still hold the same title as everyone else besides maybe one or two that made it. Your title is "Loser" and your opinions about everyone else makes you appear to be a very sore loser. Which pretty much means your opinions mean squat! I am quite sure you only do this for attention, and in hopes that you can attract others to view your video and make a comment about it, but shall I remind you that only the mentality of a child would bash others for negative attention in lieu of no attention at all! If you want to see mediocrity look in the mirror!

And you don't even respond to a single thing I brought up in my previous post. Where is the series in this? Why is this footage the least bit relevant to this contest? What are you actually trying to make? What is with the accolade "film-festival winning?" Does that mean this entry existed before the contest? Why did you passive-aggressively stalk me in other topics to get my attention?

Furthermore, the contest isn't over yet. I made peace with my defeat once I saw seventy-some odd entries (and Woody's entry, which is excellent). You missed my comments on the other videos where I had a lot of positive to say.

You were quite gracious and mature when you responded in the topic for my video. What happened?
